Airspeed Courier[edit]

I noticed you have recently created Airspeed AS 5 Courier, I presume you did not know that an article already exists at Airspeed Courier. MilborneOne 21:15, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have merged the details from Airspeed AS 5 Courier into the other article Airspeed Courier, I think I have moved everything not duplicated. Apologies if I have missed something. MilborneOne 22:10, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

DYK[edit]

Updated DYK query On 20 March, 2007, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Percival Petrel, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

Fairey Fireflies[edit]

Good job on the Fairey Firefly I/II articles. One note: you need to place disambiguation (DAB) headers at the top of each of these pages to the Fairey Firefly of WWII and beyond, just in case someone gets lost. If you're not sure how to do this, let me know, and I'll give you some help. - BillCJ 16:05, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

edit conflicts[edit]

When there are edit conflicts, the alert page features two boxes of text, and i believe the bottom one would be your copy. There is also the 'inuse' template, among others. Cantras 19:41, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image permission problem with Image:Percival Provost 1 copy.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Percival Provost 1 copy.jpg. I noticed that that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jaqen (talk) 17:57, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

An exciting opportunity to get involved![edit]

As a member of the Aviation WikiProject or one of its subprojects, you may be interested in testing your skills in the Aviation Contest! I created this contest, not to pit editor against editor, but to promote article improvement and project participation and camraderie. Hopefully you will agree with its usefulness. Sign up here, read up on the rules here, and discuss the contest here. The first round of the contest may not start until September 1st-unless a large number of editors signup and are ready to compete immediately! Since this contest is just beginning, please give feedback here, or let me know what you think on my talkpage. - Trevor MacInnis contribs 05:15, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Percival Provost 1 copy.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Percival Provost 1 copy.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 00:13, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Leaving WIKIPEDIA[edit]

As a parting message to anyone who should care to read, I have this to say. Wikipedia as a concept was brilliant. As an entity, it is a shower. I have put in days of work to contribute a little bit of my knowledge to the world at large and I have suffered grievously at the hands of administrators who have been officious, obstructive or incompetent -- in many cases all three. I have had work destroyed by fools who haven't even the wit to check a date stamp before deleting an "empty" article. I have had items deleted by fools who lack any concept of academic practice and as the latest, I have been informed by another fool that I need a "consensus" to revert an error that had no source and changed an entry that had a source, and should, therefore, have been reverted by an administrator two years ago.

The simple truth is that Wikipedia was always doomed to failure. It apparently needs money to continue; frankly I feel that the sooner it is put out of its misery, the better. I am sure that there are many others, like me, who have made their best efforts to make it something of merit. It will never be so as long as there is neither consistency nor wisdom amongst those who set themselves up to administer it.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
