Caught by a colocation web host block but this host or IP is not a web host. Place any further information here >>> I don't know what a "colocation web host" is. Procedural decline only. You forgot to tell us your IP address so we can't investigate your claim. You can find this using WhatIsMyIP. If you don't wish to provide this publicly, you may use WP:UTRS to provide the IP address privately. Yamla (talk) 18:07, 13 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Good spot with the North Koreans in Yom Kippur War. That's the sort of attention to detail and determination to get a mild imperfection remedied which Wikipedia could use more of. Thanks. Gog the Mild (talk) 22:40, 11 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Lyra McKee[edit]

Thanks for fixing that. It was supposed to say "growing up as gay" rather than "growing up a gay". I put a link in as well to LGBT but I don't know if it's necessary, or if there's a better link to use. This is Paul (talk) 13:29, 19 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No problem! I was wondering how "a gay" could have got in there. I kept hearing Matt Lucas's voice. :-) STeamTraen (talk) 14:46, 19 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for October 24[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Rickenbacker 4001, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Genesis (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

you wish your username could begin with a lowercase 's'...[edit]

Hi sTeamTraen,

Your username CAN start with a lowercase 's'! You can add something like {{DISPLAYTITLE:user:sTeamTraen}} to your userpage. And if you go to Special:Preferences, you can make your signature have a lowercase s. Check out my profile for how I changed how my username is displayed there, or my signature -- I have a lowercase 'p': = paul2520 (talk) 23:55, 1 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! But that only changes my username on my user page. I was hoping it would change it on the top right of the screen, next to the head-and-shoulders icon.

Your edit on Benford's law[edit]

Hi. I noticed your edit on Benford's law where you attempted to at a space in a mathematical formula. Latex has its own notion of space. It will consider any number of consecutive spaces to be a single space. You can use the construct \; to get a single extra space. For more options see Help:Displaying a formula. On th eother hand, I don't know why Chrome would not show the minus sign, except for the general contrariness of contraptions such as computers. Constant314 (talk) 21:45, 29 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! What happened was: I assumed that the I wasn't seeing the minus sign because of the space issue. That seemed a bit weird (I'm only passingly familiar with LaTeX, but the implied syntax clearly doesn't need a space), but when I added the space, sure enough it showed up in the Preview window. But then when I confirmed it, it wasn't there. What I think is happening is that the browser is taking decisions about whether or not to render a narrow line, and that depends on some rounded number that in turn is dependent on a combination of the current window size, the screen resolution, and exactly how far down the screen the line that is being displayed is located. If I zoom in by 10% then everything works. STeamTraen (talk) 13:50, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for adding the clarify tag at Article 49 of the French Constitution[edit]

STeamTraen, thank you very much for adding the {{clarify}} tag in this edit at Article 49 of the French Constitution. Your suspicion was correct, and extra thanks for using the |reason= param, without which I wouldn't have been able to follow up, and fix the problem. I just wanted to say that many people who spot a problem like that in an article, might just walk on by, but you didn't–you took the time to stop, identify the problem, and leave a note about it. That was crucial, because without the tag you left, I never would have spotted the problem; your action started the ball rolling to improving our article. Once I fixed that, I noticed all sorts of other areas where improvement was needed in the article, and spent some time at the article, and I think it's in much better shape now. (The article was translated from a poorly sourced, and in places, poorly written French article, so there's still plenty more that could be done.) Once again, thanks for taking the time to leave the tag, and if you ever wondered if it's worth the effort, and if anything will ever come of it, the answer is "yes", and "yes"! Cheers, Mathglot (talk) 22:43, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the thanks... better than a pay rise! 😂 STeamTraen (talk) 08:49, 15 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
