A tag has been placed on Billy Lopez, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you feel that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Peripitus (Talk) 01:48, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Hello SUNY Boy! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 943 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Vincent Rutherford, Jr. - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Thanks!--DASHBot (talk) 19:57, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Vincent Rutherford, Jr. has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:BIO

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Re your edit of the Elvis Presley article.[edit]

I see that you state in your latest edit summary that you cannot add references because "here is currently a lock that prevents me from doing so". This seems odd, in that you have managed to edit the article, and there is no way to lock a section (not that it would make any sense to lock the 'references' section anyway). If there is actually anything preventing an edit to this section, it is a bug, and should be reported (or had you logged out before attempting to add the material? - that might explain the problem, as it is semi-protected, and only contributors with accoiunts can edit). For now, I will revert your edit, as it simply doesn't conform to the requirements regarding proper citations. Can I suggest that you try again to add the references, so we can at least see what it is you are citing - though as you are well aware, questions regarding material relating to Presley's 'Jewishness' have long been a controversial issue in the article, and you might do better to discuss this on the talk page first. AndyTheGrump (talk) 12:51, 17 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

On trying to revert your edit, I discovered that I couldn't do it either. It appears that our edit filtering software may be playing up, which might account for your earlier problems - I'll report this. AndyTheGrump (talk) 13:04, 17 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've found what I think was the explanation for me not being able to edit at least, see Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Is Wikipedia:Edit filter playing up? AndyTheGrump (talk) 13:25, 17 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
