Hello Sahilwithstaple. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to User:Sahilwithstaple/sandbox, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Not A Paid Article[edit]

I am not being paid to write an article about them on this platform, I just wrote it to improve my writing skills as I aspire to become a content writer and this is one of the reasons I have published it in the sandbox which stated that it is for practice only.

I am sorry that it appeared as a paid article, and if the article requires any kind of change I will surely do it.

Your username is "Sahil with staple" and you wrote about an organization called Staple Digital Marketing Agency. It is difficult to believe that you are not paid by them in some capacity. Well I agree that my username is "Sahilwithstaple", and this was because I previously created an article about a company with its name which eventually got blocked stating that if I want to create an article for a company I will have to use my name along with the company's name to prevent it from getting blocked again. I created a new account for this, since I am a new editor on Wikipedia I didn't know how to regain my previous account. Well but even I realized that the edits look like I am being paid after looking at other pages, so I will be editing this whole page today and then after everything looks right I will request a review. Okay, so a direct answer to your question: I am not related with staple by any means. so the next question arises, *why is my username 'Sahilwithstaple'?* This was because I thought we can only create one page with one account (and to be honest i still don't know how to create another page with this account). For example, if i were to create a page for amazon, i would've probably created it with the username 'Sahilwithamazon'. And why? because according to my thinking i could only create one page with one account, and a username including my name then followed by the name of the company would be easier to remember, and i could use it as my portfolio. Hello, and thank you for explaining the situation. I think perhaps you misinterpreted the username policy and the comments of the other editors.

An account name with the format of "[person] with [company]" is really meant for an editor who has a personal or professional affiliation with the company they are writing about - either because they are an employee, or a third party being paid to represent their interests.

If you truly have no affiliation with Staple Digital Marketing, then I would suggest that you change your username to something else. Then your username will not give others the impression that you are affiliated with this company.

One final question, though... what do you mean when you talk about your "portfolio"? I'm not exactly sure what you mean by that. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 18:54, 15 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

well, what I meant by "portfolio" is that if I apply for an internship at some company as a content writer I can at least show them that I have made Wikipedia pages for various companies. I would caution you using your Wikipedia editing career as a marketable skill. Keep in mind that Wikipedia is a collaborative project, so any content you contribute can be edited by anyone else. Over time, the content of the article(s) you create could change substantially.
I would also be concerned that a potential employer might get the mistaken impression that, because you have Wikipedia editing experience, hiring you might increase their chances of getting a Wikipedia article - either for themselves or their clients. Whether a company gets an article or not is determined solely by the notability criteria. Also, article subjects (companies, people, etc.) do not have any right of ownership or control over the content. You're welcome. One final note - when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.
