Could it be in the extended canon? Sherlock Holmes has been used as a character by writers other than Arthur Conan Doyle, but this isn't considered correct. Check out Non-canonical works related and derived from Sherlock Holmes for a list (and add what your remember if the story isn't there). The Jack the Ripper case scandalised, nay terrified London - it would have been very insensitive for Sherlock Holmes to be connected with it. Such things were dealt with by Penny Dreadfuls - would you read a novel about Harold Shipman? Pydos 19:34, 28 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
