Unblock Request

Samar (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

This is my second appeal for unblocking (I have previously sent a request email to the administrator PeterSymonds). My IP has been blocked due to actions of User NisarKand. For some reason I cannot edit pages through my account. I have had this issue before also when the IP was blocked due to actions of the same user and it was affecting my account.

Accept reason:

I've set a flag that should allow you to edit through the range block; please re-activate this request if that did not work. Kuru (talk) 14:43, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

Punjab wikiproject

Hi! Actually the Punjab wikiproject covers the entire historical region Punjab and not only the "Punjab" state of Pakistan. Likewise the Punjab Wikiproject also covers the historical region of Punjab in India, and not only India's "Punjab" state.

Likewise the "Punjab" subproject of WP Pakistan only refers to the state of Punjab

The portal reflects the wider Punjab region and not only the Punjab state in Pakistan.

It is confusing.. I hope I cleared things up!

Thank you, WhisperToMe (talk) 18:22, 25 September 2011 (UTC)

Nice Yash! You are pretty dedicated to this aren't you. Samar (Talk . Contributions) 07:13, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
Yes. But unfortunately I have many promises on wikipedia to keep (adding ref to my created articles, Assessments for IND, etc) So I m unable to assess articles for this project. But I try my best to improve the project :) Yasht101 07:21, 21 April 2012 (UTC)

hey

I was thinking to nominate Pakistan for GA status. Perhaps needed your help as I m already busy with 5 more articles to be nominated in future and you might be having more knowledge of the country then me obviously. Your help will be really valuable. Yasht101 13:24, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

Sure I can help. I am kind of busy with the outside world and am less active here, but will work on it as required. Samar (Talk . Contributions) 14:24, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

Wow! To be honest I am even not interested any more. It seems like a few Indian editors are in permanent war with you and Top Gun. Good luck.
Hey also, help me with the List of lakes in Pakistan please. There will be no war here. Samar (Talk . Contributions) 10:03, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for June 29

Hi. When you recently edited List of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Pakistan, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Mughal and Dadu (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Akra Kaur or Ankara Kaur?

I believe the name is "Ankara Kaur" because that is the spelling I have seen several news publications use. See the references I have added to Akra Kaur Dam. Mar4d (talk) 14:19, 7 July 2012 (UTC)

Its Akra Kaur, I have never heard of Ankara Kaur or it being referred to as Ankara. Let me see the references in detail, maybe that's another dam or a name confusion because in all official resources the dam is Akra. Samar (Talk . Contributions) 15:39, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
Akara is the name of a small settlement in Baluchistan near Gawadar, there is also a stream called Akara river or Akara Kaur (Akara refer to the place, Kaur in Balochi means stream) so the dam is named after the stream as Akra Kaur Dam. I know of no other dam in the proximity so Ankara Kaur is probably a second name (maybe misspelled name). Will add it as an alternate name in the article. Samar (Talk . Contributions) 16:02, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
Right, thanks for clarifying. You're right, if Akra Kaur is indeed the name mentioned in official sources, then Ankara Kaur is most likely an alternative name. Mar4d (talk) 16:40, 7 July 2012 (UTC)

Hi! I need some help. Especially for copy-editing. TheSpecialUser TSU 07:31, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

Will get on it. Samar Talk 09:03, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
Thanks a ton! Just 1 last help sir. On 14 August, the flag hoisting event takes place in numerous places including Islamabad, where the President and Prime Minister hoist the national flag at the Presidential and the Parliament building -> I'm struggling with this. Better words for Presidential and the Parliament building? or link? or a re-word or re-phrase? As the source doesn't say much about it. This is the only "troublesome sentence" in the article. Thanks again for your help so far :) TheSpecialUser TSU 11:23, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
I'll look through out and fix the structure. Oh and I am a madam :) Samar Talk 13:18, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
I'm so sorry. Your name actually confused me. TheSpecialUser TSU 13:30, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
I added few sources here– can you please check if you find some useful information on the background/history of Independence day (not Independence movement)! --Tito Dutta 17:41, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, I went through the links, will see in detail to add material. See that's the hard part, to add material relevant to independence day and not independence.
  • Please see the last section of the talk page. Need opinion. Mar4d (talk) 10:16, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

A cheeseburger for you!

I'm really sorry for my careless edits.I tried to rectify them.Hope you don't mind .BTW please consider placing a userbox in your userpage to indicate gender so that no more misunderstandings occur....Cheers and Sincerely :) TheStrikeΣagle 16:28, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
Thanks! I don't mind being called he, she, or it :) I didn't even see that comment.
Oh and I gave a small explanation for my removal of names (bullets 2 and 3). If that didn't help should have asked for a further elaboration from me, if that wouldn't have worked out just add the material again, reverting 9 edits and assuming bad faith on my part was too quick. That has put me off from editing in the area again. You really know the art :) (No sarcasm or baiting or anything, honest) Samar Talk 16:48, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
:) I actually told Mike to ask an explanation from you due to lack of clarity in edit-summaries.Thanks for quickly responding in the talk. That was really helpful.Glad we are going in the right direction. Cheers TheStrikeΣagle 16:57, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
