Hi Samir, If you have a spare minute, would you like to check out renal tubular acidosis? I've been noodling away at it for a while now, and would appreciate a bit of an outside expert eye to point out changes that need to be made before i think about a possible nomination for a good article. Cheers.FelixFelix talk 16:04, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Samir,

I was ineterested in your colom cancer picture. Sadlly, my mum had just surgery in Slovakia, to have removed one of those ( March 6th 2007 ), and doctors said, it isn't good at all. I was wondering what You know about Colon Cancer. I would be very happy if You know anything about surgeries, or treatments.. to let me know, my email is lentilka8653@hotmail.com Thank you in advance,Lucy March 8th 2007 —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 217.67.19.108 (talk) 23:03, 8 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Hi, can you replace the image and some text that user: Beh-nam has deleted on the Pashtun people article. It is considered vandalism what he has done. He is ethnic Tajik or perhaps other and is constantly involved in removing anything that makes ethnic Pashtuns look good. I don't want to call him extremely racist person, however, you decide for yourself after you see his history record. Check one example here and here kooniwal means homosexual in Persian language. The new map he just uploaded and added to the Pashtun people article was very recently deleted from Commons because it has no source to verify. Therefore, you should delete it now as it qualifies for speedy delete. Thanks, I have no issues with anybody over ethnics, nationality or religion. Beh-nam has targetted ethnic Pashtuns and he is spreading whatever lies he can come up with, he does not have time to edit articles about his own ethnic but is always busy on Pashtun related articles. He has been blocked many times for edit warring. He thinks everybody who edits Afghanistan related article is Pashtun.--Dilbar Jan 13:14, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Uhm, no. You call people baboons, and make fun of the way people look. Instead, I've blocked you indefinitely. We don't need hate speech like that on Wikipedia -- Samir 17:19, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

Hi bro,

since you can see it was this persianized guy Dilbar who wrote me first and insulted me. I din´t write back first. But when he did again i wrote him also and used facts and names to remind him on his own people since he was writing about fictions. He was exchanging his own people with mine. I never insulted him..just read my text and his and compare them clearly. AND DO NOT THREAD ME!!! YOU ARE NOT AN ADMIN NOT ABLE TO BOUNCE ME OR BAN ME SINCE I DDI NOTHING!!! YOU WILL BE BANNED NEXT TIME! Not even 50% of the comments were mines but Dilbars. Either he added some bad words to make me banned or you have confused everything.

ps:the guy above claimed he can´t speak Persian but now he tries to make you fool that kunniwal means homosexual while hamjenzbaz and be-rish means homosexual. Kunniwal has nothing to do with Homosexuality tough there are a lot of homosexuals in Pashtun society..to gicve you some proofs and that i am not insulting someone but USING FACTS you can see here;

http://www.sodomylaws.org/world/afghanistan/afnews009.htm http://www.sodomylaws.org/world/afghanistan/afnews011.htm http://www.globalgayz.com/g-afghanistan2.html

and there are 1000 of pages..remind also what dupree said..Homosexuality could have been existing since the ancient times in Afghan society since the Indo-Aryan people were a MALE DOMINATED group like the people of ancient greec.

Thank you and best regards --Aspandyar Agha 14:08, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cascading protection on User talk:Samir/Archive 17?

Why did you enable cascading protection on User talk:Samir/Archive 17? This is generally only necessary for very high profile pages, which that certainly is not. As a side effect, I think you completely stopped the bot from updating User:Dragons flight/Category tracker/Summary for over 2 months. Why are you even protecting your talk archives in the first place? —dgiestc 22:37, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • On further investigation, DFBot went offline a few days after your protection (and hasn't come back, unfortunately), but it had been updating that page until right before you protected it. So... no big harm, but please be careful. —dgiestc 22:47, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • Cascading protection on that page was an error -- Samir 23:45, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

we have been trying to find you for the past month to say THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! you were the specialist doctor who flew to thunder bay and fixed the bleeding in the veins in my husband stomach when no other doctor could do it. he would have died if you would not have flown here and you saved his life. we did not know which hospital you worked at regularly but remembered your name and that I signed the form so you could use the pictures for your students and for the wikipedia. my daughters were the ones who talked to your girlfriend at the Tommy donuts in the hospital, she is very beautiful and lucky to have you. our family is forever in your debt, wonderful wonderful doctor. thanks from the bottom of our hearts THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!! from Ella and Tommi L.

Hi, would you check out the following links for me? [1] click link in title please. On my talk page you will see that the picture was put in the Crohn's disease article with explanation), [2] and [3] which is the Spanish article. I don't have time right now but there are a couple of other articles I think the picture is appropriate for. The Spanish Wiki was done by the editor on my talk page as was the rest of it. I am trying to find other editors who might be interested and have ideas for good use of the picture plus information added to the article (s). I would appreciate if you have the time to take a peek and possible give me ideas of how to move forward on this type of project as it is new to me. I noticed that this currently redirects to Boerhaave syndrome, which apparently refers only to spontaneous perforation, but mentions that something 80% of perforations are iatrogenic, so it looks like we could use a esophageal perforation article. Speedy deletion of Bustamante

A tag has been placed on Bustamante, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Ironholds (talk) 15:12, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Boman Irani still.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Boman Irani still.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Survey request

Hi, Samir I need your help. I am working on a research project at Boston College, studying creation of medical information on Wikipedia. You are being contacted because you have been identified as an important contributor to one or more articles.

Would you will be willing to answer a few questions about your experience? We've done considerable background research, but we would also like to gather the insight of the actual editors. Details about the project can be found at the user page of the project leader, geraldckane. Survey questions can be found at geraldckane/medsurvey. Your privacy and confidentiality will be strictly protected!

The questions should only take a few minutes. I hope you will be willing to complete the survey, as we do value your insight. Please do not hesitate to contact me or Professor Kane if you have any questions. Thank You, BCproject (talk) 23:42, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Act 1

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Act 1, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Act 1 seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Act 1, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Were you canvessed to vote in the atbcom elections?

Hi there, I'll get straight to the point - there is concern that there is active off-site canvassing to change the outcome of the arbcom elections. It is being discussed here. As I mention there, I don't particular care either way. However, I thought I'd a) bring the matter to your attention and b) give you an opportunity to answer the suggestion there that you were canvassed. --Cameron Scott (talk) 00:10, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have to say that it looks very, very strange that you were inactive for over 13 months but reappeared to cast a vote against Jayvdb. Several other editors show the same pattern in their contributions, though not quite as extreme as in your case. It would be helpful if you could explain the circumstances of your own anomalous voting. -- ChrisO (talk) 00:28, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've commented on AN. Your insinuation of impropriety on my part is not appreciated -- Samir 18:36, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for replying, but you haven't commented on the question of whether you were canvassed and if so who by. Clarifying this point would be appreciated. Just seen your response to the question posed by Cameron above. Thanks. -- ChrisO (talk) 20:29, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • If you don't mind me asking, Samir, how did you find out about Jayvdb's candidacy? You have to know that it's not a bad faith assumption to ask why an admin, inactive for 13 months, returns to oppose an arbcom candidate. For me, it's more curiosity than anything else, as I'm not one of Jayvdb's supporters. S.D.D.J.Jameson 21:50, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • I just found out there were ArbCom elections. I'm voting on everyone. I just happened to start with Jayvdb as it was one of the few names I recognized. Thanks -- Samir 21:52, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
      • Thanks. That's all I needed to know. Can you understand how it looked suspect to those of us who noticed a pattern? And I hope you know that I for one meant absolutely no offense in my comments either at AN or here. S.D.D.J.Jameson 21:54, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
