December 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Utcursch. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Khandayat (caste), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. utcursch | talk 14:18, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hey User:Bishonen, Same caste glorifying vandalism can be found in User:Solarson919 talk page as well. Please do check. Odiahistory (talk) 08:42, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

January 2021[edit]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Devapala (Pala dynasty), without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. utcursch | talk 21:21, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Once again, please see WP:RS. Wikipedia is not a place to glorify your caste. Things like presenting File:Hannibal traverse le Rhône Henri Motte 1878.jpg as an image of a "Bakshi (trans. General) leading into battle" will get you blocked. utcursch | talk 17:52, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Understood and agreed, this one is reverted from an old version and as you pointed out, This will be removed immediately. Thank you for pointing out.

But, how can we stop repeated removal of edits without any proper discussion. Sangramz (talk) 17:59, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Noted that. That image will be removed. It was added by some other user years ago, But the textual content is being sourced well as it is being locally and academically accepted. Thanks again for pointing out Sangramz (talk) 18:07, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

February 2021[edit]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Khandayat (caste). Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. You are removing sourced information. You have not discussed this change on the article talk page even though you know that it is not an uncontroversial change. Please do not remove this content again unless you first present sources on the article talk page and get a consensus in favour of your change. bonadea contributions talk 14:27, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from giving falsely assumed citations on edits. I only added the fact widely known and accepted and further mentioned in the source. Stop being casteist, discriminatory and disrespectful towards a community.

 Sangramz (talk) 14:29, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Khandayat (caste), you may be blocked from editing. bonadea contributions talk 19:00, 7 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for letting me know about it. This was not a disruptive edit, I'm from the Anthropological research background with Governmental recognition, and added a scientific sourced addition to the article. The earlier description was a racial slur and caste based discrimination sourced from a Novel. Sangramz (talk) 10:43, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Which specific source do you believe is a novel? None of the sources currently in Khandayat (caste) is a novel – you might have been looking at an earlier version of the article. Please do not restore your edit when it has been contested; use the article talk page to discuss, and keep in mind that the source you used is not appropriate for the claim you made, per WP:RS. If you are not sure why, that's also something you can ask about at the talk page. --bonadea contributions talk 13:08, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Khandayat (caste); that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. bonadea contributions talk 13:04, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm quite surprised how you are reverting back a spam. The first line of the article is sourced to a Novel citing few people belonging to Martial Caste "Khandayat" are now engaged in Cultivation, but they are originally a martial caste. Here's the link : https://books.google.co.in/books?id=VNHRWtDWsRIC&pg=PA132&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q&f=false

It's a novel which is not reflect a community consensus, but the writers observation on few people who are doing some work unrelated to their community.

There's already a consensus here, the Scientific source that I added, simply reflects the fact in clear words.

Please reply ASAP.

Sangramz (talk) 20:02, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The article's talk page is where you need to make your case. There is indeed an existing consensus, which is not to remove the well-sourced information about the agricultural background of the group. To change that consensus you have to bring up your arguments at the article's talk page. I will respond to the points you made above, on that talk page. --bonadea contributions talk 21:02, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Caste related vandalism & disruptive editing by Sangramz. His edits are mostly related to Khandayatas (a peasant caste in Odisha). Odiahistory (talk) 08:45, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This is not caste based vandalism but source conflicts. BTW the page protected now, what's the point of tagging me here, winning a mere narratives for some estate as kingdoms? Please be relevant on talk pages Sangramz (talk) 15:05, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Important information[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.  Bishonen | tålk 21:28, 11 February 2021 (UTC).[reply]

Complaint about your edits of Karan (caste)[edit]

Hello Sangramz. Please see WP:AN3#User:Sangramz reported by User:Ayushsinha2222 (Result: ). You can respond there if you wish. EdJohnston (talk) 19:11, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

As noted in the report, it looks like you have reverted this page about thirteen times since 4 February. That doesn't look good for you, and suggests that some admin action will be needed. EdJohnston (talk) 19:29, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ed, I agree it doesn't look good, however, my reverts were made in response to the spam and unsourced edits made by the User: P. Sitanshu (would be great if you can take a look at his edits and spams). The article has contributors who are into caste-based glorification, plus adding narrow citations as a fact.

I was anyway going to bring Admin's attention to this spam and edit wars but waited for a while.

I'm attaching the source here: https://www.google.co.in/books/edition/The_Caste_System_of_the_Hindus/LFQIAAAAQAAJ?hl=en&gbpv=1&bsq=Karana&pg=PA5&printsec=frontcover

The main misleading thing is that the article falsely relates to some communities in India which is totally different from them, and citing caste-based glorification. I have given much more detailed descriptions in my edits, feel free to check it, I will be glad to know advises in improving my edits.

Feel free to share your concerns.

Sangramz (talk) 10:41, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Sangramz, this source from the author belongs to Bengal, for the author himself belongs to Bengal. The caste-system of Bengal was completely different from that of the rest of India in the 19th century, let alone Odisha. Moreover, it had been written 150 years ago.

I am sorry to say Sangramz that we still fight over niggling castes instead of being one for the good of all those who have long been in darkness. I wonder how we Indians have become like this. I beg you, my friend, let's not fight over castes. Will this fight ever end? I appeal to both of the sides not to fight over it anymore. Let's keep pace with each other so that both of us can prosper. I beg you to cast away any ill feelings you may have had against any community for a justifiable reason. I beg you. Let's forget castes and realize that we are all from the same source.

In addition, we can all, of course, discuss anything over the talk page, instead of maligning each other's statuses. We can surely do it democratically, can't we? Yes, we certainly can. Ayushsinha2222 (talk) 20:15, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Ayush, That's not a fight between castes, it's much like saying 16th century American Indians are equal to South east Asian Indians.

Your edits simply omits the difference between the Karanas in West Bengal and in Odisha that leaves a petty caste based glorification. That is again contradicting your own statement. Much like saying American Indians in 16th century are same as South east Asian indians are same

You will need to mention the difference them. Because so far the writer caste in Bengal are identified with the Kayastha who started their literary in recent history, unlike the Karanas in Odisha who aren't related to kayastha.

Sangramz (talk) 06:56, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Sangramz, the crux of the issue, then, is if the Karanas are related to Kayasthas, when Karanas claim to be a subcaste of the Kayasthas. I understand you. We need to find out more scholarly-sources over the same to reach a conclusion. There have been so many conflicting theories over the same. Ayushsinha2222 (talk) 07:25, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

At the same time, we know that Karanas are one of the most prominent castes in Odisha, as they enjoy no reservation at all, which also indicates that they are an upper caste today, along with Brahmins and Khandayats. In such a situation, calling them a low caste is a misstatement as well. Ayushsinha2222 (talk) 07:34, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Where do you find that bhavasankari was an Mughal zamindar? She helped Mughals to establish islamic rule in west bengal? Give me the source And also where do you find that bhurisrestha was a town in not a pargana or kingdom? শুভম মুখোপাধ্যায় (talk) 07:33, 8 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The source attached itself says that her Father Dinanath was the Commander of Pedo fort, Under Mughal rule. He passed the same legacy to the Bhavashankari, along with the Mughal emperor "Akbar" who met her after the first battle and gave her the title of "Raibaghini".
