March 2013[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Raashid Alvi has been reverted.
Your edit here to Raashid Alvi was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://www.facebook.com/raashid.alvi.9) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 12:24, 23 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Capitalization[edit]

Hello. You may want to take a look at Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Capital letters before going through and capitalizing words in articles. Basically, capitals are meant for proper names or for acronyms, not for emphasis. The words that you have been capitalizing do not fall into either camp. Thanks. File permission problem with File:Raashid Alvi at The Parliament.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Raashid Alvi at The Parliament.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 13:44, 26 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

April 2013[edit]

Please make sure you have read and understood our image use policy before making any further uploads. If you have questions, ask at the copyright question page.

  • Please stop trying to fool us. Reversing the image and changing the aspect ratio doesn't make this image your property. Eeekster (talk) 09:45, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Raashid Alvi at the Indian Parliament.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Raashid Alvi, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. This is your last warning. The next time you upload a media file with false or missing copyright or source information, as you did at File:Raashid Alvi,At Indian Parliament.jpg, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Eeekster (talk) 11:09, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Wikipedia from another source without verifying permission. You have been previously warned that this is against policy, but have persisted.

Please take this opportunity to be sure you understand our copyright policy and our policies regarding how to use non-free content. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.   Ronhjones  (Talk) 17:28, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Distorting images just to try to stop us checking them for copyright violations as you did at File:Raashid Alvi.jpg, not only will not work, it shows you are 100% determined to ignore the Wikipedia policies.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 17:34, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
