Inappropriate links[edit]

I noticed that you've added some links to Scott Kurland in some inappropriate places such as OASYS and Asset Management#See also. Are you trying to promote or advertise this person, by any chance? -- John of Reading (talk) 21:07, 22 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Not specifically, no...I just happened to come to the OASYS page via the reference link on Kurland's page as I was attempting to learn more about equity trade processing behaviour and various systems. I figured it would be a useful link to tie back to, but feel free to remove if you don't agree...

OK, I see. "disambiguation" pages like OASYS are intended for people using the "search" box at the top right. If someone types "OASYS" into the search box, they will arrive there. The page should only contain links to the articles that they might have been looking for - in this case, one of four or five articles using that acronym, or perhaps they are looking for something actually named "oasis". If someone knew they were looking for Kurland, they wouldn't type "OASYS" into the search; they would have typed "Scott" or "Kurland".
