Re: Editing Value Chain External Links[edit]

Thanks for the comment on my talk page. The relevant policies and guidelines are WP:PROMO, WP:NOTLINK, WP:EL, and WP:COI. I didn't realize you had a coi, which is a confounding issue. Basically, the problems I had with the links were that the reference model link requires registration (WP:ELNO#6) and "on the Value Chain Group web site" is redundant(WP:ELNO#1) and promotional(WP:ELNO#4).

Does the site have highly relevant articles that do not require registration? Are you aware of published articles that meet our reliable sources criteria that could be used to verify information in the current article or be used to expand it? --Ronz (talk) 17:47, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for removing the registration requirement so quickly.
The other link however is unacceptable per the policies and guidelines I mentioned. Do you see how it's redundant? If a reader is interested in your organization, they can simply get there with a single click from the article. Do you see how it's promoting your organization, but not otherwise relevant to the article? --Ronz (talk) 16:19, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
As for the link to the article, I think it would be best discussed on the article talk page to see what editors with more expertise in the topic think. --Ronz (talk) 15:45, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Same here. Let's move the discussion to Talk:Value_chain. --Pot (talk) 18:24, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Done!
