See Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion and notability guideline. An article about a person has to assert their importance or significance, since Wikipedia doesn't accept just any article. Additionally, the fact that he is your grandfather means you should not be writing an article about him since you have a conflict of interest. Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Gerald Gustafson DRV[edit]

Hi, thanks for your message regarding this Deletion Review. What will happen is that after five days (or perhaps sooner if a very clear consensus emerges) an uninvolved admin will review the Deletion review and make a decision on whether to restore the article. I think the deletion review is moving in such a way that I am confident the article will be restored at the end of the deletion review as it does not seem to meet the speedy deletion criteria. However someone may take it to articles for deletion once it has been undeleted, so a full discussion might be held on whether it meets the relevant notability guideline. AF Portal Nomination[edit]

I don't have any objections to a spotlight of Colonel Gustafson on the AF Portal, though I think the biography spotlight would be more appropriate than article spotlight. However, there it's much in his Wikipedia bio to go off of. Can you add more info? Ideally I'd like the spotlight to be a summary of his Wikipedia bio and include a sentence or two on his education, a paragraph on his service (3-4 sentences), and a sentence or two on his post-service life. I got the photo up, thanks for the upload. I'll draft up an AF Portal article based on the page shortly.
