Accused of being a sock puppet of Derek1x, I asked for a check of one of his possible socks of Derek's and Allison banned me without a reason and claimed I was one of his socks. I'm most certainly not, why would I ask for a review of Derek's sock if I was him? Is that not a little strange?

I'm being called a "sock" of Derek1x look at my editing style, look at my writing stylem look at me posts. I'm not a sock. This account was banned before on my IP address. I don't care what Checkuser says. It's wrong. I'm not a sock of anyone, my IP is an office building here in Seattle, Wa. If I was a "sock" what kind of idiot would rat another "sock" out, out of the blue? Do you think I'm stupid or something? Wouldn't I be ummmmm little more more guarded so as NOT to get a "sock" banned? This is MY ONLY ACCOUNT and now it's banned. I only edit my hometown of Butte, Montana for the most part and I've done alot on that page. Checkuser is wrong, watch me, watch my edits, look at my writings. I'm not a sock of anyone. This really bothers me to be accused of this

Robert Christgau is a notable music reviewer and having his reviews added to album articles can in no way be construed as vandalism. Even editors with a past history of vandalism can make good edits, which appears to be the case this time. You said "Maybe it wasn't vandalism", which means you should assume good faith and not automatically revert an editor's contributions as vandalism because they have been one in the past. --JD554 (talk) 15:31, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads-up. Looking at our buddy's contributions, I see a pretty single-minded focus that makes me think the kid is not playing with a full deck. Too much butter in the roux, in chef-speak... best thing to do there is revert without comment and carry on. That thing on the Montana project page was clearly a play for attention, a sly little troll attempting to push people's buttons. The bit that I removed said a "small airplane". Maybe it's because I almost never fly except in light aircraft, but to me a "small airplane" means something that fits a few people (example of what I was thinking), not what this event was. No I think only one or two things are mentioned in the article. I can tell you where I was when Kirk Gibson hit his might blast off of Dennis Eckersley because that was a memorable moment for me. There are certain semi important events for the general population that are extremely important events for specific individuals. Melrose

What's wrong with making it sound like it's right in Butte? It is right in Butte. Look at the map of Butte in Silver Bow County — unless it's in Walkerville, it's in Butte. "Neighborhood" is the standard term used for communities that are part of municipalities but have a different name. Nyttend (talk) 04:36, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

Neighborhoods can often be distinct communities. Forgive me if you already know this — but Butte and Silver Bow County form a consolidated city-county — except for Walkerville, the city and the county have identical borders. That's the point of the map to which I linked: red parts of the county are Butte. They are legally part of the city, and that's how US geography articles here work: we don't go by informal understandings but by the legal state of things. Nyttend (talk) 12:05, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

Where exactly did I "vandalize" I'm very curious...This "wizardman" blocked me for "vandalism", uh...Sorry dude, didn't "vandalize" any pages, looked at my edits and want to know exactly how any of it is vandalism that person never gave a reason for a block and if you look at my edits there are none that are "vandalism"...Think someone is on a powertrip, if there was a reason or if I've dealt with this person before I may understand but I don't see any reason why I was blocked or even a link to the SUPPOSED "vandalism".

Wikipedia Campus Ambassadors wanted in Bozeman, Montana

Hi! I'm leaving you this message because you're listed as a member of WikiProject Montana. The Wikipedia Ambassador Program is currently looking for Campus Ambassadors to help with Wikipedia assignments at Montana State University - Bozeman, which will be participating in the Public Policy Initiative for the Spring 2011 semester. The role of Campus Ambassadors will be to provide face-to-face training and support for students on Wikipedia-related skills (how to edit articles, how to add references, etc.). This includes doing in-class presentations, running workshops and labs, possibly holding office hours, and in general providing in-person mentorship for students.

Prior Wikipedia skills are not required for the role, as training will be provided for all Campus Ambassadors (although, of course, being an experienced editor is a plus).
