October 2021[edit]

Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

Request reason:

My VPN is blocked, and the only reason I am given is "User:Quidster4040"? I created this account when my IP in Atlanta got blocked. SecretlyQuebecois (talk) 00:58, 15 October 2021 (UTC) Admiteddly I'm still new to this site, so I am trying to fully wrap my head around the policies here and what types of activity would warrant a block. If I am missing something, please feel free to correct me, or clarify information to me. The blocking reason was ambiguous and poorly explained. I don't believe any edits I made with my IP prior to making my account or from my contributions log were disruptive, and I would go to the lengths to say that they were constructive. The only reason I could find why a block might have occurred is that it looks like the IP/VPN address I had been using had been involved a user (Quidster4040?) being hacked, or at least compromised, by another user (GerryLenhart?). Now it seems like I am being accused of affiliation with them. I suppose that is understandable if we had a shared VPN service in the last month. All I can say is I'm independent of these accounts. I verified my email with this website, on my personal Gmail account I have had for years. The only similarities I can find is if one or two of these users is in a task force that mirrors one of the 5 or 6 task forces I joined and lives in the Atlanta metro area. I did notice my IP address was blocked a few days ago for suspected vandalism by an account that had shared my VPN (probably due to XFINITY cross-sharing VPNs/IPs in Atlanta), which prompted me to make an account to circumvent the block. I don't think this block was made in bad faith; however, I do find it, for lack of a better word, unusual, that the blocking administrator bluntly blocked me, provided no reason other than the words "Quidster4040". At minimum, I would have felt that I would have been asked if I had an affiliation with any of these editors I am accused or assumed to be, rather than just targeted and blocked. If there is any additional information I could provide to mark myself as independent of accounts that have shared this IP, I would be happy to provide that. Decline reason:

I see you're another one of Quidster4040's "roommates". So, how many more of them are going to show up? NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 09:57, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

@NinjaRobotPirate: What are you talking about? I don't live with anyone. This is absurd. Can I have someone else review this? SecretlyQuebecois (talk) 14:07, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
