About Kongpulse
So yeah, I know I should whisper on Kongregate, but it doesn't really matter. On Kongpulse, when we do the Finals of the Head to Head battles 2010, we'll select ten players to go through to the first final stage, right? Well, what if we have seven players who are all seventh? Do they all go through? What should we do? Maybe we should let them, if someonething like this happened, go through, and in the first round of the Finals, just eliminate everyone who typed less than the eighth best. What do you think? - Well, after eliminating any inactive people, if there's any draws, we'll check their H2H record. For instance, someone who's been in 13 H2H's and has 13 points will have priority over someone who's been in 30 and has 13 points. If that still leaves a draw, it will be decided by any previous battles between those contestants.

Port Adelaide Football Club season article
Hi Sellyme, I might be an idea to defying who is home and away mainly by the AFL normally would have the home team's score first followed by the away's team. I suggested you keep this format and just have Port's score in bold.

- Even if it was after midnight it wouldn't be a problem, I stay up to about 4am. But I'm not sure as to specific sports, I generally try to update as much as I can as quickly as I can, so I tend to cover everything. I'd probably be more interested in Head-to-head sports (i.e., one team/person against another, unlike athletics/diving, etc), but as I said, I'll try to do as much as I can. Please slow down and review your edits more carefully. You are using AWB for mass edits and creating false positives. For example, you just tagged a soft-redirect as having "multiple issues" in part because it's an orphan. Redirects are supposed to be orphans. Hi Sellyme/Archive 2. Thank you for cleaning up articles. Using AWB for such clean ups is not recommended - Upskirt (game), a two-line stub, is hardly likely to have any content that can be Wikified. Please read Wikipedia:WikiProject Wikify and bear in mind that the use of AWB is a right that can be revoked. Rather than tagging, consider doing any necessary short improvements yourself. - The reason I generally use AWB for trying to improve poorly written new articles is because on AWB my average page load time is 3-4 seconds, whereas it is around 3 minutes on Firefox and Chrome, and well over 5 minutes for IE/Camino/Safari/Opera/XBrowser/Paint. I understand that this occasionally creates issues with regards to my human error, but you've got to make mistakes to learn what not to do, and I believe that thanks to a bit of trial and error I'm now fairly proficient with AWB. In regards to Wikifying myself, I generally do attempt to make any grammatical/structural improvements as I can (As evident with my recent contributions to the influx of Iranian articles on Friday), but in this case I wasn't exactly sure what I could do with regards to Upskirt (game). I'm generally of the opinion that a good-faith article - even if it is almost certain to be deleted - is in the need of improvement until the moment it is actually deleted. Score of tie-breaks (reply)
I want to communicate that it is not necessary to put the score on the winner of the tie-break, for reasons totally obvious if you already have the score of the loser, has no need to put the score of the winner. On this basis, automatically know the score of the winner. And this is also standard on Wikipedia and the official scores of the ATP Tour and WTA. - This is incorrect Egtj. Wikipeida POLICY is to always show both scores of the tiebreak when not in prose. Many novice tennis readers do not understand the nomenclature of only one score so it was decided that both winning and losing tiebreak scores must be present. - Fyunck is completely correct. While most people knowledgable with tennis completely understand just the loser's tie-break score, they are in the minority. Unlike the ATPWorldTour website, or any grand slam website, which will have a userbase composed entirely of tennis supporters, most Wikipedians will not understand the tie-break scoring system (Or at least, be confused as to why the winner's score isn't shown). Segunda División B
Unlike in England, when a team has the same points as another team we look at how they did on their two matches when they played each other (only when they have played twice against each other). If the tie is between more than one team, we do a league between those teams (only if they have all played against each other twice). However, in this tie in Group 3 Lleida still needs to play L'Hospitalet next week. Therefore we can not do the head-to-head rule. Thus we move onto goal difference which places Lleida in third position. I know it's hard to understand, but don't doubt on the reliability of the tables. I take care updating them. We only do the league system between the tied teams when they have all played each other twice. However, Lleida still needs to play L'Hospitalet next week (L'Hospitalet have 59 points, just like the rest) therefore we can not apply the head-to-head rule yet, thus we go on to the next rule which is goal-diffence. Lleida is third right now, however things might change after this afternoon's matches. Another example similar to Group 3, is the tie in position between four teams with 43 points in 2010-11 La Liga. As for additional data going into the article, you might also take a look at the MoS for league season articles, just in case you have not already done so, of course. One note regarding the "Positions-by-round" section, though – this is not a standard section, as it might be very difficult to source; in general, it should only be included if the accompanying source is able to list league tables for every round/matchday. Formula 1 records
The report section is just that: a report. It's a top-down overview of the major events in the race. Although it is important to mention the records that were set, comparisons to previous benchmarks are better-suited to individual race report pages. Otherwise, there is a risk that the report sub-section of the season page will become too long and too detailed, and will return to the bad old days where the "brief report" was actually longer than the rest of the article. - I was thinking about having you make individual tournament wikitables, and put them in the corresponding months. Go here, you will have to go to 1988 in the drop down menu and select singles. The doubles we can wait for at the present moment because it will be basically wikitables anyways because back in 1988 not very much was even written about doubles even in the slams. So, just take your time, on getting this done. I like the way the WTA Tour has each tournament segregated into their own little wikitable, which is what I hope we can do on wikipedia. - The word wrapping doesn't look bad to me. What I don't personally like is the box stretching half way across the screen like the one above. That exact shorter width looks best at least on my 1920x1080 screen. Now if the sig starts on a completely new line that's fine but the box itself needs to be 19em wide for my own needs. Of course everyone can change the box shape to fit their own pages and likings... those are just mine. Getting Wikimedians to the Olympic Games
Hi. I am part of an effort to get Wikimedians access to the 2016 Summer Olympics as accredited reporters and photographers. Part of this effort includes covering the 2012 Summer Paralympics. Two Wikimedians have credentials to attend these games as reporters through Wikimedia Australia. As English Wikipedia does not allow original reporting, this is largely through Wikinews with a project page found at Wikinews:Paralympic Games. If you are interested in helping to get Wikimedians to the next Summer Olympics,I'd encourage you to assist with Wikinews efforts, and also to work on all language 2012 Summer Paralympic Wikipedia articles before, during and after the Games to demonstrate a track record of success. Hey Sellyme! I am Petrb, one of core developers of Huggle, the antivandalism tool, which you are beta testing (according to https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Huggle/Members#Beta_testers). I am happy to announce that Huggle 3 is ready for some testing. You can read more about it at WP:Huggle/Huggle3_Beta. Please keep in mind that this is a development version and it is not ready for regular use. That means you must:
- Watch your contribs - when anything happens you didn't want, fix it and report a bug
- Frequently checkout source code and build latest version, we change it a lot
If you find any problem with a feature that is supposed to work perfectly, please let us know. Some features are not ready yet, it is listed in known problems on Huggle3 beta page, you don't need to report these - we know it! So, that's it. You may not have noticed, but this week I released first beta precompiled installers for ubuntu and microsoft windows! Wikipedia:Huggle/Huggle3_Beta has all the links you need. We desperately need attention of testers, because since we resolved all release blockers, we are ready to release first official version of huggle 3! Before that happens, it would be nice if you could test it so that we can make sure there are no issues with it. Invitation to Adelaide Wikipedia Users Group meetings
Hi, in case you're not already aware of it, a group of Adelaide Wikipedians has been meeting on a monthly basis since April, with the aim of improving the scope and quality of articles on South Australian topics. We meet at UniSA's City West campus, and our 23 July meeting will have a guest speaker from the National Trust of SA.
This coming Sunday, 6 July, we will be holding our first Edit-a-thon. This will be an opportunity for new editors to come and learn either basic or more advanced editing from very experienced wikipedians, so if you know anyone who would like to get some practice, please let them know - and beginners will be very welcome. New huggle 3.1 is going to be released soon
Hi Sellyme, we are to release a new major version of huggle, but we did receive almost no feedback from our beta testing team, which you are a part of (see https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Huggle/Members). It would be of a great help if you could download it (if you have windows, all you need to do is getting http://tools.wmflabs.org/huggle/files/huggle3.1.0beta.exe and putting it to a folder where you have installed huggle) and test it. You can always get a help with making it @ #huggle connect!
Major changes:
- Multisite support - you can now log in to unlimited number of wikis in 1 huggle session and get a huge queue of all edits made to these wikis. This is good for smaller projects which gets overlooked often.
- Ranged diffs - you can select multiple revisions and get a huge diff that display all changes done to them.
- Fixes of most of bug reports we had so far

Tennis article discussion
Because you and others were instrumental in forming our current tennis guidelines on seasonal articles for special players, I though you might be interested in the re-visit being discussed at talk:projectTennis. Currently, because of input from that 2011 discussion, any singles player skilled enough to win a grand slam tournament is allowed continuous seasonal articles. No grand slam tournament win, no season article. A grand slam tournament win in 2012 allows seasonal articles in 2013 and 2014 whether or not more grand slam tournaments were won. I was against these articles, but even I have to admit it has worked reasonably well and there really haven't been all that many articles made. A recent deletion of the 2013 Maria Sharapova tennis season has brought this to the forefront once again and we at Tennis Project are trying to decide if we leave things as they are or narrow the parameters in several different ways. We could use more input (whether your views have changed or not). I gave the old discussion link so you can see your original thoughts, but all those who gave their view before are being invited to discuss. Thanks. Copyright checks when performing AfC reviews
Hello Sellyme. This message is part of a mass mailing to people who appear active in reviewing articles for creation submissions. First of all, thank you for taking part in this important work! I'm sorry this message is a form letter – it really was the only way I could think of to covey the issue economically. Of course, this also means that I have not looked to see whether the matter is applicable to you in particular.
The issue is in rather large numbers of copyright violations ("copyvios") making their way through AfC reviews without being detected (even when easy to check, and even when hallmarks of copyvios in the text that should have invited a check, were glaring). A second issue is the correct method of dealing with them when discovered.
If you don't do so already, I'd like to ask for your to help with this problem by taking on the practice of performing a copyvio check as the first step in any AfC review. The most basic method is to simply copy a unique but small portion of text from the draft body and run it through a search engine in quotation marks. Trying this from two different paragraphs is recommended. (If you have any question about whether the text was copied from the draft, rather than the other way around (a "backwards copyvio"), the Wayback Machine is very useful for sussing that out.)
If you do find a copyright violation, please do not decline the draft on that basis. Copyright violations need to be dealt with immediately as they may harm those whose content is being used and expose Wikipedia to potential legal liability. If the draft is substantially a copyvio, and there's no non-infringing version to revert to, please mark the page for speedy deletion right away using {{db-g12|url=URL of source}}. If there is an assertion of permission, please replace the draft article's content with {{subst:copyvio|url=URL of source}}.
Some of the more obvious indicia of a copyvio are use of the first person ("we/our/us..."), phrases like "this site", or apparent artifacts of content written for somewhere else ("top", "go to top", "next page", "click here", use of smartquotes, etc.); inappropriate tone of voice, such as an overly informal tone or a very slanted marketing voice with weasel words; including intellectual property symbols (™,®); and blocks of text being added all at once in a finished form with no misspellings or other errors.

Please keep in mind that these don't have any automatic updates and if you download and start using nightly build, you will need to update it yourself! So don't get yourself to running old version, it's possible to install both stable and nightly huggle, which is what I suggest.

- Unfortunately I can't find much, it seems like his perforance at Burnie was an unusual high on an otherwise very uninteresting career. I did dig up this article about the Asia-Pacific Tennis League that mentions his participation, but considering that apparently that entire competition doesn't seem meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines I'm not sure that it's worth even mentioning in the article. ITF Circuit
Hey, you are doing good work updating results. I know that it is a bit of a chore. But just to let you know, please put in the diacritics for players, even the ones without an article. I know that the ITF doesn't use them, but we are still supposed to. Just search the player's name on Wikipedia and you should get plenty of results using diacritics, so just put them in the article. - I'm checking for diacritics on names where they seem plausible (e.g., all Serbo-Croatian "style" names), so unless names like "Alex Bolt" have diacritics they mustn't be showing up in the sources I'm checking. Do you have any resources that you use for finding proper diacritics for players that don't have previous mentions in Wikipedia? SellymeTalk 12:38, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
- Not really since the majority of them are on it. You can always Google search news hits in the native language of the player as they are inclined to use them. And I essentially search any player who isn't from an English-speaking country. And there are some obvious cases, as many Spaniards/Hispanic players have diacritics (ex. Fair Use in Australia campaign update
I'm writing you this followup message, as you took the time to vote in support of a Wikipedia banner campaign for the introduction of Fair Use in Australia.
After much planning and coordination with the WMF, Australian Digital Alliance, and Electronic Frontiers Australia, as of Monday the banner-campaign is active on English Wikipedia to a portion of logged-out readers in Australia (technical details). The banners direct people to this page on Meta: FairCopyrightOz. That page, alongside lots of information, further directs people towards the campaign website faircopyright.org.au where Australians are invited to write to their local MP to express support of Fair Use. If you are interested in supporting this campaign, please, send a letter yourself using the template letter provided at that link.
Furthermore, and with the support of the ADA & EFA, we have received fantastic media coverage - with article "Fair Use: Wikipedia targets Australians in bid to change the law" appearing on page 2 of the Sydney Morning Herald and page 10 of the Melbourne Age on Monday's edition. It was for a time the 3rd most read article the Fairfax website, and Fair Use was "trending" on Twitter in Australia. We are running the account @FairCopyrightOz on twitter, and we are tracking other press-mentions on the talkpage on Meta.
Today, day 2, we published a detailed post about the campaign on the Wikimedia Blog, ran an "Ask Me Anything" Q&A session on the Australia page in Reddit, and [by happy coincidence of timing] the article History of fair use proposals in Australia appeared on the en.wp mainpage as a Did You Know. [The creation of that "history of..." article was a specific request arising from in the community consultation in which you voted].
And, most importantly, in a little more than a day nearly 800 letters to MPs have been sent encouraging them to support the Productivity Commission's recommendation to adopt Fair Use in Australia. I urge you - please add your own message.

Tennis section ready to be replaced
I waited a couple months and since the new tennis guideline section is ready to go live I thought I would ask a few of you if you see any glaring spelling or clarity mistakes. New Section, Old Section There was also talk about how to handle Future and Challenger Tiers but that can always be brought in as an easy addendum since it's not replacing anything we already have. The only thing I have a query about is how to handle W–L if someone creates a Challenger or Futures chart (or dual charts as often happens). Charts I've seen usually have no numbering or a running total of events rather than wins and losses. There should be no problem incorporating the same W–L for those charts. But what about charts that include both Futures and Challengers? Do we W–L them all together like they were the same event? Or do we do separate W–L's for them even though they are in the same chart? Again this can be brought up afterwards but it is a concern. I mainly wanted to make sure everything was crystal clear as to meaning in the replacement section. Thanks. - I strongly believe that Challengers/Futures if included should be in a separate chart. Whether or not they should be in a separate chart each is up for debate, but fortunately that's not too relevant at the moment.
- I do note that in the Legend, Win-Loss records are separated with '/' instead of '–' in the Surfaces table, as well as some of the Men's rows. Is this intentional? It should definitely be consistent with the rest of the guidelines imo. SellymeTalk 21:24, 24 June 2017 (UTC)

All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.
I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it.
