I need your help

I think i ran into a reverted edit by 2601:280:4F81:4490:98F0:B37F:3BF2:37D3 from your edit. And he vandulised this page. Please change it back to what it was. Thank you. MalaysianKidfromColorado (talk) 20:32, 16 May 2022 (UTC) |}

@MalaysianKidfromColorado: Hey, and welcome to Wikipedia. I just realised the page is classified as a "humorous page", unlike Place names considered unusual. The edit on that particular page alone are okay, I think. Thanks regardless for letting me know. Seloloving (talk) 02:21, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
Somehow i also noticed that i can no longer edit Georgia (U.S. state) because of vandulism by an user. I found the reason why it was protected. Here's the link anyway. (Keep in mind that this is an old revision by 2601:280:4f81:4490:a308:70e3:f03c:45b7.) https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Georgia_(U.S._state)&oldid=1088091784
PS. also, thank goodness it was reverted. I can also thank user El C for protecting the page. Please leave the anoynomous who vandulized the page a message. (User talk:2601:280:4F81:4490:A308:70E3:F03C:45B7) Thank you. MalaysianKidfromColorado (talk) 02:55, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
No worries, the IP has been blocked by an admin too. (Just to let you know, I am not an admin) Seloloving (talk) 02:57, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
At last. Btw, please leave him a message that he shouldn't vandulise Wikipedia again and if he does he'll be blocked without any further warning. MalaysianKidfromColorado (talk) 05:35, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) the ip is blocked. there's no need for further warnings unless they continue to vandalise after the block has ended. – robertsky (talk) 06:12, 17 May 2022 (UTC)

DYK for Korean Workers' Party Headquarters, Cheorwon

On 23 May 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Korean Workers' Party Headquarters, Cheorwon, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that an abandoned building in Cheorwon, South Korea, used to be the base of operations for the Workers' Party of North Korea? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Korean Workers' Party Headquarters, Cheorwon. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Korean Workers' Party Headquarters, Cheorwon), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Azerbaijani language

Historically the language was referred by its native speakers as Türki[6] meaning either "Turkish" or "Turkic". Prior to the establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, which adopted the name of "Azerbaijan" for political reasons in 1918, the name of "Azerbaijan" was exclusively used to identify the adjacent region of contemporary northwestern Iran.[7][8][9] After the establishment of the Azerbaijan SSR,[10] on the order of Soviet leader Stalin, the "name of the formal language" of the Azerbaijan SSR was "changed from Turkish to Azerbaijani".[10]

He already writes in the Azerbaijani language article. The democratic republic of Azerbaijan officially called their own language Turkish. In Stalin's time, Azerbaijani language was used instead of Turkish. Talysh Cadusii (talk) 00:12, 23 May 2022 (UTC)

I understand, but do cite the same sources when reinstating your edit to the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic page. Seloloving (talk) 00:17, 23 May 2022 (UTC)

For the god’s sake Please stop removing the content in K S Chithra Page

Mr. Editor, you have removed so much of content from K S Chithra Page unnecessarily. Why can’t you mind your own work ? Each and every word written in her wiki page was true. The president of India in 2018 honoured K S Chithra with “First ladies” award for being the first Indian woman to be honoured by British Parliament in 2005. I have added the sources to it also. But you have removed it and you are saying that she was performed there. Don’t you have a brain? Parliament is there for singing? It is a parliament not the concert hall & clearly I have cited the source video of K S Chithra performing at Qinghai International Festival 2009, in that international ceremony, the government of china honoured K S Chithra (after the performance). You have removed that one also. God knows what’s wrong with this egoistic people. G H V S Simha (talk) 12:23, 27 May 2022 (UTC)

Wikipedia is not for the promotion of K S Chithra,, and all content must be sourced and verified. If you are affiliated with the individual, you must declare a conflict of interest. Please acknowledge the message on your talkpage. All the contents will not be reinstated without a reliable source.
In addition, there's no source stating that Britain or China honoured her. Your first source is a Q&A of her saying she sang there, with no mentions of the British "honouring" her. The YouTube video merely shows a clip of her singing, with no mentions of China "honouring her". Unless you can find reliable sources stating they "honoured" her, both statements will be not be reinstated. Seloloving (talk) 12:27, 27 May 2022 (UTC)

Seriously, I am promoting her? She has been there in the Indian film industry since 1979. She is a legend in India. Who am I to promote her ? Do whatever you want to do, I am not going to stop my editing? I am not doing anything wrong here. G H V S Simha (talk) 12:58, 27 May 2022 (UTC)

What do you mean by "We have included every honour, collaboration with the valid sources." and "Accordingly we have written her article."? Who is "we"? Seloloving (talk) 13:00, 27 May 2022 (UTC)
We” in the sense myself and others who are adding the content to the page (In general prospective I have said). Any one can edit Wikipedia isn’t it. I have requested lock to this page many times but my requests had been rejected G H V S Simha (talk) 16:18, 27 May 2022 (UTC)
Indeed, anyone can edit Wikipedia, and anyone is free to remove unsourced contents or inaccurate statements.
Most of these articles currently being cited are clearly either copied word-for-word from Wikipedia, since I have yet to find any British or Chinese sources of such an honour. It's clear she simply performed there and was not honoured with anything.
In addition, do you acknowledge that you are the same user as User_talk:Simha_Gorji, who twice requested for the page to be protected? Using multiple accounts is a violation of Wikipedia policy, and I would like you to respond accordingly to the noticeboard which I have posted on your talkpage.
Please also declare all other accounts you may be using prior to your present account. Seloloving (talk) 16:30, 27 May 2022 (UTC)

I’m part of the family and do not approve of our property being listed on a public platform as a “ruin” or a public picnic place for bikers. It is in repair and it should be known The Masoner (talk) 15:43, 6 June 2022 (UTC)

Hi, Seloloving

Hi, Seloloving. I came across you while browsing recent changes. Although we've never crossed paths before on Wikipedia, on a whim I spent almost about half an hour reviewing some of your edits and and interactions with other users and was greatly impressed with your contributions and commitment to Wikipedia. You've been around for a while. Do you have an intentions of ever applying for adminship? Your understanding of policy and ability to calmly explain it seem good. And your commitment to the ideals of the project are evident. It seems like you'd be a good candidate. If you've ever considered it, I can put your talk page on my watchlist so that I can develop a long term view of your editing. Jason Quinn (talk) 12:58, 15 June 2022 (UTC)

Hi, I appreciate the kind words, but I prefer to just create content. I do not think I would make a very good admin (and it would turn my hobby into a job). I am sure there are other users who deserve to be nominated more so than me. Thanks. Seloloving (talk) 14:17, 15 June 2022 (UTC)
Despite being an admin I rarely perform admin actions. I don't view adminship as meaning you have an obligation to do admin activities; I too prefer to work on content. I'm actually probably one of the least-active "active admins". But occasionally during the course of my usual editing I will come across a vandal or something like libel that is egregious enough where I can help the encyclopedia quickly and effectively by blocking or rev-deleting material. That said, RfA is not an easy process and involves stress so it's not something to be undertaken lightly. I also prefer people do self-noms because I think the nomination process has become kind of pompous. But based on what I saw, you'd get a support from me should you ever decide to run. I am curious why you think you'd not make a good admin. It seemed to me you have key ingredients such as a healthy knowledge, respect, and understanding of our policies and a detached but helpful and matter-of-fact communication style to others about about them. Jason Quinn (talk) 13:06, 16 June 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply. At present, I do feel there are sufficient administrators that any users I report for repeated vandalism are banned within 30 minutes, while requests for revision deletions of egregious material are performed equally quickly. The RfA process, however, seems to demand a lot for users aspiring to adminship besides basic administrative activities, and its standards are always rising. I have engaged with many equally long-term deserving editors capable of scripting, creating good/featured articles, or mediating in difficult disputes, and they far surpass my skills in these areas.
A more personal reason would probably be that the RfA process is indeed, as you say, stressful. Unlike other recent administrators or aspiring editors, I also rarely engage in policy discussions and the administrators' noticeboard. I enjoy editing Wikipedia as a hobby to preserve and disseminate knowledge, and running the gauntlet of adminship is not something I would partake in without serious consideration and self-reflection. Seloloving (talk) 22:41, 16 June 2022 (UTC)
I also just realised that you had spent half an hour to review my edits. I apologise for having taken up your time on this. Seloloving (talk) 16:26, 15 June 2022 (UTC)

About changing the copyright classification of File:Logo of the Republic of Korea Navy.svg

Hello, Seloloving. I would like to ask you about the copyright classification of File:Logo of the Republic of Korea Navy.svg. This file is currently classified as a non-free work. However, this logo is the official logo of the Republic of Korea Navy, and Article 24-2 of the Republic of Korea Copyright Act states that works produced by government organizations of the Republic of Korea are in the public domain unless they pose a risk to the country's national security. Since the Republic of Korea Navy is an official organization belonging to the Republic of Korea government, it is subject to this law, and Wikimedia projects do not violate the restrictions suggested in the law, so it is reasonable for this file to be classified as a public domain according to a reasonable legal interpretation. If you look at other related cases, such as File:Coat of arms of the Republic of Korea Army.svg, File:Republic of Korea Air Force emblem.png, File:Seal of the Republic of Korea Marine Corps.svg, you can see that all the works that represent the official symbols of the Republic of Korea Armed Forces are actually classified as public domains. Based on the above grounds, I ask you to change the copyright classification of the File:Logo of the Republic of Korea Navy.svg to a public domain and add {{PD-South Korea}}. Thank you. Lee6597 (talk) 05:27, 30 June 2022 (UTC)

{{PD-South Korea}} does not seem to state that "works produced by government organizations of the Republic of Korea are in the public domain unless they pose a risk to the country's national security". Someone will need to propose that the tag be edited, with a link to the source, before I can transfer the ROKN logo to Commons. I will gladly change the classification once the change has been made. Seloloving (talk) 02:28, 1 July 2022 (UTC)

Zhengkai08

Hello Seloloving. Do you think Zhengkai08 is paid by the PAP? The guy exclusively makes superfluous edits about PAP politicians and sometimes remove negative information about them. It's weird. MordukhovichAleakin (talk) 19:00, 30 June 2022 (UTC)

Hello MordukhovichAleakin, please do not make accusations on other users without evidence (WP:ASPERSIONS). I have not seen any evidence that he has removed any negative information on PAP politicians, and if Zhengkai08 chooses to make edits only to PAP politicians, it's their right. If you are engaged in a content dispute with them, please discuss it on the talkpage. We have some editors here who historically made only superfluous edits to opposition figure pages, and it's certainly not for us to accuse them of being paid by the opposition.
That's why Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia anyone can edit. Some editors only insert positive/negative information about their favourite/disliked figures, depending on their political orientation, and it's up to other editors to re-orientate the page to adhere to WP:NPOV. In any case, I am avoiding political pages for the present moment as I am concentrating on revision for studies. Seloloving (talk) 02:22, 1 July 2022 (UTC)

Demolishing article

Hallo, first of all I was never blocked, secondly content is correct i believe there is no reason to delete them, thirdly I was reaserching this article, and i realize there is one good guy,who is trying to make article better but nobody can do it from the begin perfectly without mistakes, but his point was only to make article better, you can't take away possibility to add contents for life long, because he didn't knew how to source contents as beginer, and lastly his block expired several times. Leave this guy making contents now, because he is the one who makes this article only better, so what u are doing is pretty unfair and you are literally demolishing Wikipedia's article. Allow to make Wikipedia's article better.

Greetings for Singapore. 🇸🇬

IP 188.230.243.101, your edits are behaviorally similar to past accounts linked to ZnatNepo23892. This long term obsession with the article, coupled with a frequently changing IP address, leaves me with great doubt that you are not linked to the original blocked editor. I really wish to assume good faith, but I find myself unable to when confronted with the evidence. Seloloving (talk) 09:30, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
Sounds like a duck quacking into a megaphone to me. Blocked. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 09:46, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for monitoring. It's appreciated. Seloloving (talk) 09:54, 4 August 2022 (UTC)

As I said I am not the person, but I copied the content because is perfect and makes article only better, I don't need to change content,is not similar but the same, and his block expired several times. He did many mistakes as beginer but now, there is no mistake and he is useful for wikipedia.

I have only one friend in Singapore and he is better then then any other that I know,so knowing that people from Singapore are good people, I believe you are the one to. 188.230.243.101 (talk) 09:38, 4 August 2022 (UTC)

I know you are trying to make the article better, but this obsession is not helping matters. Believe me, I would love to see the better side of this and assume good faith. I hope you will be well. Seloloving (talk) 09:54, 4 August 2022 (UTC)

First of all, there are no rules for "obsessions" on wikipedia, it is own thing, just like you are Obsessed with whole Wikipedia, someone else is allowed to be Obsessed with one single article, it is ALLOWED being Obsessed, you can't have your own rules on wikipedia, you are not the owner of it.

Collapsing

So you should stop demolishing wikipedia article, because is not allowed.

If somebody's obsession anoyng you,is your own problem it has nothing to do with rules on wikipedia.

And is max primitive and simple under average inteligence in my perspective. 193.105.67.119 (talk) 09:51, 5 August 2022 (UTC)

@193.105.67.119 You are entitled to your perspective and are absolutely right no one owns articles, including you. What is very clear is you are not entitled to edit any article as a blocked editor, whether under new accounts or one time IPs, and will continue to be reverted in accordance to Wikipedia's guidelines on block evading. Seloloving (talk) 09:59, 5 August 2022 (UTC)

Yes I agree but I already explained that I couldn't be perfect without mistake as beginer, the only problem was I didn't knew how to source content, and I am blocked already 1 year because I didn't knew how to source article and leater for multiple accounts for what I also wasn't informed that is not allowed. This is the way how Wikipedia works ? Because is strange....I only want make Wikipedia article richer so I am doing good things for Wikipedia.

Someone taking away possibility to add Wikipedia articles because i didn't knew how Wikipedia works as beginer ?

Primitive. 193.105.67.119 (talk) 10:09, 5 August 2022 (UTC)

The blocks expired several times and always again blocked. Not normal and the way how Wikipedia works is very strange and unfair. 193.105.67.119 (talk) 10:13, 5 August 2022 (UTC)

@193.105.67.119 I agree that Wikipedia can be harsh at times, and overly strict in newcomers. That said, you should read the guides on appealing unblocks on your original account, and appeal in six months time without any further edits in the meantime.
If you can stick to that, I will be willing to help support an unblock, but it's not my decision and ultimately up to an administrator. As I see this as an admission that you are not a different user, but the original account, I would advise that it's best to be honest about it in your appeal. Seloloving (talk) 10:14, 5 August 2022 (UTC)

Thank you! I am going to be honest I am not enough professional, is pretty hard with those things, I am learning, could you eventually add those sourced contents on my "behalf", I spend a lot of time fo this and is all perfect. I would be thankful to you. 193.105.67.119 (talk) 10:26, 5 August 2022 (UTC)

Titles : House of Tudor

Hi, I've added these titles to the House of Tudor page because I thought it was not very respectful of the Royal house to only list a few titles when so many Royal houses pages on wikipedia have an extensive list of titles, such as the House of Bourbon, the House of Habsburg, House of Bonaparte, etc. I did it in good faith 2607:FA49:1A44:4700:9560:1B9A:2E51:B3DC (talk) 06:35, 5 August 2022 (UTC)

I am not sure about the validity of the addition, considering it seems no one else has added them before, but you are free to revert my undo and allow another reviewer to appraise it. Thank you for the note. Have a good day! Seloloving (talk) 06:36, 5 August 2022 (UTC)

Just wanted to say thank you for your painstaking efforts with MRT maps and photos of the new station sites. I loved the map you made showing the original plans to extend the NEL to Pulau Ubin and Tekong - I only learnt about that yesterday so a coincidence to find your map today having originally seen your page via your Tengah station photo.

Where was the Tengah station site photo on the main Tengah MRT page taken please? And for Tengah Plantation also? And can I join you on a future trip to update these station site photos haha. Thanks again (and 中華民國萬歲 too!) Remdabest (talk) 02:31, 15 August 2022 (UTC)

Thanks for the nice words on the maps and photos. Tengah station was taken from Block 407, while Tengah Plantation station was taken from Block 445B.
At present, I have no concrete plans to visit the sites again until there are substantial changes, but you may try asking @ZKang123:, who is a more frequent traveler than me. Will not have the time to go out for a while, I am afraid. :( Seloloving (talk) 04:49, 15 August 2022 (UTC)

Hello

Hello. please tell me why you deleted my post Reform1028 (talk) 14:38, 6 September 2022 (UTC)

Hello, the information I removed on Muroran curry ramen lacks any verifiable source, which is required on Wikipedia. It's also pretty trivial as you would expect tourists to be visiting famous ramen chains all the time, and is not really relevant for an encyclopedic entry. I hope that explains it. If you can reinstate the information with a source, it would be nice. (P.S. I love ramen too...) Seloloving (talk) 15:03, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
I understand that. Thank you Reform1028 (talk) 15:28, 6 September 2022 (UTC)

 —Michael Z. 23:37, 6 September 2022 (UTC)

Please, when dealing with unsourced material in Wikipedia articles which has a very good chance of being accurate, do some due diligence and look around for a source instead of jumping immediately to deletion. Also, consider adding a "CN" tag before you delete. Neither the encyclopedia nor our readers benefit from removing information which is easily sourced. Beyond My Ken (talk) 00:43, 19 September 2022 (UTC)

@Beyond My Ken I have found that adding CN tags do nothing but leave the material unsourced for years to come. Tags I have added over the years remain unsourced months and years later.
Purging it has greater benefits as it pushes others to find sources for it. I do not see any benefit on retaining anything unsourced, even if it might be true. If you have found a source for it, then I am satisfied my method has worked. I do not add CN tags any further unless in rare circumstances. Seloloving (talk) 00:50, 19 September 2022 (UTC)
And you don't feel any obligation to do at least a quick check for possible sources before you delete? You just see something that's unsourced and hit delete? I happened to be watching that article, but there are plenty of articles where no one is paying any particular attention, and your deletion of material which could well be sourced will stand forever. Beyond My Ken (talk) 00:54, 19 September 2022 (UTC)
@Beyond My Ken I occasionally do try to find sources for unverified contents, such as my recent additions to Space Shuttle Pathfinder. I did not immediately remove it. In another Nazi-related topic, I had also included sources for Triumph of the Will and massively removed years of unsourced contents.
I do admit, whether I do so is highly dependent on whether I have the time, and my preference is still to just remove unsourced contents if I cannot tackle it immediately. CN tags rarely attract attention, especially on pages that have low visibility as you mentioned. If you have found a reference for the information I removed, I couldn't be happier. @138.75.102.40 While parts of the Thomson East Coast Line is present in the concept plans from the 90s and 2001, there is no reliable source which actually states this, making such a map problematic for Wikipedia, which requires reliable sources.
I can still create a map in my free time, but it's unlikely it can be used on Wikipedia. May I know why do you require this map? Regards. Seloloving (talk) 11:26, 26 October 2022 (UTC)

Commander in Chief of Singapore forces

I believe that the Commander in Chief of the SAF and its respective branches is not the President of Singapore. I could not find any information that supports the President having that official title, ceremonial or otherwise, or being a commander in general. As such, I've removed removing these descriptions from the 'leadership' and 'commanders' sections of the infoboxes of Singapore Armed Forces, Republic of Singapore Navy, Singapore Army, Digital and Intelligence Service, and Republic of Singapore Air Force.
