Ahmed Al Qarmalawy moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Ahmed Al Qarmalawy, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Notice

The article Intilaq Mohammad Ali has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

There's one nice source in the article, but in searching I couldn't find anything more. The other three current sources are primary, so don't go to notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Your contributed article, Dubai Art[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Dubai Art. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Centre Pompidou. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Centre Pompidou. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. 2A01:4C8:41:F1F7:51D2:AC44:E90A:144E (talk) 15:11, 27 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Dubai Art requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://ar-tour.com/guides/paris-day-1-in-development/centre-georges-pompidou.aspx. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". March 2022[edit]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

Unblock Request[edit]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Serine Ben Brahim (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Hello,

  • Thank you very much, and I appreciate all of your hard work. I confirm that I read and understood the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements. Also, I would like to clarify that I no longer make any paid contributions on Wikipedia. Since joining Wikipedia last year, I have created only two paid contributions (edits): Hashim Al-Witry and Abjjad. To be clear, I was not creating promotional content or articles. Even for the two previously mentioned paid contributions I ensured that all the content adhered to Wikipedia’s core content guidelines and policies, as well as provided credible sources for any information added to Wikipedia. And I do understand that even if there will be any paid contributions it should be disclosed and mentioned (but I'm not willing to do any more paid contributions).
  • Generally, I have no conflict of interest editing any of the articles that I have created or edited, particularly the two aforementioned articles. So, for Hashim Al-Witry article I only added the honoring section, in which I mentioned the information that is stated in reliable resources (including two books, one in English and one in Arabic), whereas for Abjjad’s article, the main change is that I updated the Article; since Abjjad is no longer a reading community but an application, therefore, every information that I added was cited with their resources.
  • I would like to mention as well that the reason why I am no longer making any paid contributions is because I am now a member of the Wikimedians of the UAE User Group, whose main goals is to enrich Wikipedia content on Arab world including, authors, history, art, and other topics. Therefore, I am very keen to continue contributing on Wikipedia in order to achieve these goals.
  • This is to confirm as well that there will be no further paid contributions from my end, and that I will continue to work hard on publishing/editing articles that adhere to Wikipedia guidelines and that are useful to the community.
  • My sincere apologies for violating Wikipedia's rules and guidelines; this is a journey that I would like to continue and on which I would like to grow. I would appreciate your reconsideration of the Proxy block, and finally, I would like to point out that all contributions to Wikipedia, including the 57 pages created, were all unpaid and part of the goal of enriching the content of English Wikipedia on the Arab world. I hope you will assist me in my journey of growth on English Wikipedia by mentioning the exact reason for the proxy block, and I promise that your words and guide will be taken into consideration, and that I will work to correct my mistakes in the future, which means that there will be no more paid contributions from my side.
  • Finally, I'd like to point out that the IP address that was blocked is a shared IP address for our User Group, and our other four members are no longer able to contribute to Wikipedia as a result of the proxy block.

Many thanks in advance, and looking forward to hearing your response,

Serine Ben Brahim (talk) 09:53, 1 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Thanks for the thorough description of the circumstances. However, the one thing you have failed to do is disclose your employer, clients, and/or affiliations in accordance with WP:PAID. Even if you are not being paid to edit right now, you were being paid to edit previously, and therefore your edits were made under a conflict of interest (regardless of whether or not the edits you made were promotional in nature). You should have disclosed your employer/client/affiliations before making those edits. I believe you should make those disclosures as a condition of being unblocked. —ScottyWong— 03:43, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Unblock Request[edit]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

Serine Ben Brahim (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Hello @Scottywong:, As discussed in my previous unblock request, I failed to disclose my employer, clients, and/or affiliations in accordance with WP:PAID, and it was stated that making those disclosures is a condition of being unblocked, for which I sincerely apologize. Therefore, following WP:Paid I am publishing the link to my Upwork account. And following WP:Conflict of interest guidelines I am disclosing my affiliation to: * I, in accordance with the Wikimedia Foundation’s Terms of Use, disclose that I have been paid by Sami Al-Hadrawi for my contribution to Hashim Al-Witry. * I, in accordance with the Wikimedia Foundation’s Terms of Use, disclose that I have been paid by Farah Alfayez for my contribution to Abjjad. Finally, once my user is unblocked, I am happy to add this to my User Page and the articles’ talk pages. Thank you in advance for your efforts, and I hope you will reconsider your decision regarding the block. Looking forward to hearing from you, Serine Ben Brahim (talk) 07:04, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

Thank you for disclosing your paid editing details. I will unblock you now. Please follow the instructions on WP:PAID to add a disclosure statement to your user page, and please add the {{connected contributor (paid)}} template to the article talk page of all articles for which you are being paid to edit. Finally, please realize that making this disclosure about paid editing does not afford you any special abilities with regard to your editing. You are still bound by the policies and guidelines that all other editors must follow. In particular, you must not use Wikipedia as a vehicle for advertising or otherwise write promotional content about your clients, all content you add must be verifiable in reliable sources, and must be written from a neutral point of view. And just like other editors, if you repeatedly violate these policies, you can be blocked for it. Finally, please read (or re-read) both WP:PAID and WP:COI in their entirety in order to fully understand how to properly approach editing with a conflict of interest. —ScottyWong— 21:19, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
