WikiProject Organ[edit]

Would you be interested in joining/starting an Organ project? I have found a Pipe organ/refactor project but it doesn't seem to do a lot. There seems to be lots of work that needs doing, not just to the instrument pages, but also to composers/works etc. Best, Mdcollins1984 12:48, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have formally proposed the WikiProject Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals#Pipe Organ. Please add your name to the interested list and lets see if we can get this off the ground. Mdcollins1984 10:20, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Project is now open! MDCollins (talk) 16:49, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

Would you mind taking a look at the Organ pipe and Organ stop articles?

Do you think that they add any information that isn't in the really good Pipe organ? I would assume that the point of more specific articles is to be more specific! These look really poor in comparison.

If I was to be brave, I would suggest merging the pair of them into Pipe organ. What do you think?

Best wishes,

Re: Pachelbel meets Sibelius[edit]

Hello! Its good to see you're back. The aural examples sound great, especially the C major toccata and the A minor prelude both sound very professional, certainly on par with any commercial recording I've heard.

I still look at what's happening on my watchlist, just don't edit because, well, after you left, many other users did too, and the remaining early music enthusiasts seemed to only have time for helping out with formal issues and vandalism and no time at all for writing actual articles. So editing sort of stopped being exciting and started being a job.. The rigorous "provide references for everything" was also kind of intimidating. Or the way people would debate about writing articles instead of actually writing them. Eh. Anyway, now that you've returned I'm thinking of maybe returning too, maybe finishing the Buxtehude article.. :)

I'll gladly provide you with the .sib file converted to Sibelius 3 format, I'll send an email through Wikipedia. Jashiin 12:38, 24 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Song about Pi[edit]

The thing is that it's my friend who wrote and performed the piece. And since the recording includes other musicians he can't publish it w/o their permission. So I guess I can't cite my source very much more than this... Simon Johansson 20:54, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What an article title, eh? I have attempted to fix the article, but I can't help it much more than I already have. Can you help at all? Also, this should be a part of some organ project, which I would start but I don't know how (I seem to have problems asking Wikipedia how to start things). I'm sure Mdcollins1984 would be interested; and I'll leave a note on his talk page about this right now. —Cor anglais 16 22:05, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have just created an article on this magnificent organ work. Is it in your repertoire? If it is, or if you would like to take this opportunity to learn it, I would be very pleased if you would record it and put the recording on the page. It would be a huge addition to Wikipedia (not to mention completing the page I've just done), and commons if you'd like to put it there too. Anyway, thanks for all your work on organ-related things. I've just updated the Julius Reubke article also if you'd like to take a look. Clavecin 21:07, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article on Martin Jean[edit]

Hey, I created an article on Martin Jean, but it was nominated for speedy deletion. I think sufficient proof can be provided that he's worthy of having an article on here. What do you think? Random Pipings (talk) 17:43, 27 December 2007 (UTC)Random Pipings[reply]

AfD nomination of List of recordings of compositions by César Franck[edit]

I have nominated List of recordings of compositions by César Franck, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of recordings of compositions by César Franck (2nd nomination). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Your recordings[edit]

Would you mind if I moved your recordings to Wikimedia Commons, so they could be used by all the Wikimedia projects? Actually you can do this yourself by using CommonsHelper - see Wikipedia:Moving images to the Commons. Most of the free music is already there - see Wikipedia:WikiProject Free music. WP:PipeOrgan needs you![edit]

Hi everyone.

In case you haven't spotted it, Pipe organ is a featured article candidate. If any of you can lend a hand to address the concerns, the WikiProject PipeOrgan would be indebted to you. The article itself is in pretty good shape, there are some concerns about the referencing at the moment, so if you have any reliable sources that may be useful, please have a look at the article.

Many thanks, –MDCollins (talk) 00:51, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
