Discussion invitation[edit]

British Royalty Hi Setreset/archive, I would like to invite you and anyone watching who shares an interest in moving forward constructively to a discussion about Biographies of Living People

New editors' lack of understanding of Wikipedia processes has resulted in thousands of BLPs being created over the last few years that do not meet BLP requirements. We are currently seeking constructive proposals on how to help newcomers better understand what is expected, and how to improve some 48,000 articles about living people as created by those 17,500 editors, through our proper cleanup, expansion, and sourcing.

These constructive proposals might then be considered by the community as a whole at Wikipedia talk:Requests for comment/Biographies of living people.

Please help us:

Ikip 05:06, 28 January 2010 (UTC) Refactored this message a bit. thanks, hoping to hear from you. Ikip 17:48, 30 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you . However I have already contributed on the project page itself as per a strange invitation on my watch page. I don't want to add more confusion, I am happy to endorse some of the solutions already proposed. Setreset (talk) 09:40, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Great, hope to here from you again. Thanks for your response. Ikip

Hello, I note that you have commented on the first phase of Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Biographies of living people

As this RFC closes, there are two proposals being considered:

  1. Proposal to Close This RfC
  2. Alternate proposal to close this RFC: we don't need a whole new layer of bureaucracy

Your opinion on this is welcome. Okip 02:05, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

BLP and wikimedia[edit]

I'm not the most knowledgable person. I had been away from WP for a few years and only came back in the past few weeks.

To my limited knowledge, there is nothing *specific* from the foundation that is driving the current situation. These two items have some relevance:

I expect you're aware of the mass deletions that spurred the RFCs?

Instead of at the top of the RFC page, I think I'll post this at the bottom of the RFC *talk* page, in the Q&A. I'm trying to keep the top of the RFC informative but streamlined. Of course, if you disagree, you can change it. Maurreen (talk) 08:27, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, that clarified the issue. Setreset (talk) 10:51, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome. Glad to help. Maurreen (talk) 15:57, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for April 19[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Enhanced flight vision system, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages HUD and RTCA. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
