Talk Page[edit]

Hi. I appreciate your efforts to maintain quality of Wikipedia articles. I believe new page patrol is important, as I spend a good bit of my time in partnership to it addressing speedy deletion candidates. I just wanted to drop you a line here to point out to you that WP:CSD policy is to not delete articles too quickly for content concerns if it seems the creator may intend to expand them. Contributors often build articles in a sequence of edits, and new contributors in particular may not understand how quickly their articles will be judged. I know from experience (they do sometimes come to my talk page) that contributors are sometimes offended or alarmed by speedy deletion tags, so it's generally a good idea not to tag such articles too quickly. This note is by no means intended to discourage you from patrolling new pages or tagging appropriate candidates for deletion. As I said, I value that work and the people who do it. I think it's essential for Wikipedia's quality. I simply would like to ask you to please consider waiting a bit before applying WP:CSD#A1 or WP:CSD#A3 until you see if the creator intends to continue. If you'd like to discuss this further, I will be watching your page for a few days and will see your replies here. Thanks, and happy editing. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:07, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your support! And sorry for minor disruption. :) This anime's article creator is Yelyos. This one, on the other hand, was created by WhisperToMe. Sgt_Pikachu5 13:09, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Persisently recreating this template after it has been deleted and the deletion endorsed is a good way to get another account indefinitely blocked. Stop it. --Stormie (talk) 01:49, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

CSD criteria[edit]

Hi, I agree with you that Shelton paulsen was an article eligible for speedy deletion, but I suggest you might want to read the WP:CSD criteria a bit more closely - you tagged it as an attack page when it really is in no way attacking its subject. It appeared to me to be a vanity page written by its subject, so I've tagged it as an A7 instead. Thanks! ~ mazca talk 11:40, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. Thanks for the clarification! You see, i'm new. This anime's article creator is Yelyos. This one, on the other hand, was created by WhisperToMe. Sgt_Pikachu5 11:41, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Demob[edit]

Would you be able to direct me to the deletion discussion for Demob (band)? Catchpole (talk) 12:07, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Are you a bot? What is your job? Catchpole (talk) 12:10, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

May 2008[edit]

The recent edit you made to Cuba missle crisis constitutes vandalism, and has been reverted. Please do not continue to vandalize pages; use the sandbox for testing. Thanks. RedThunder 13:16, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you edit my talk page comment? Ironholds (talk) 10:49, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Because he had no previous warnings. This anime's article creator is Yelyos. This one, on the other hand, was created by WhisperToMe. Sgt_Pikachu5 10:50, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your Sig[edit]

Normally I wouldn't bother with you regarding that long sig, but since you are posting on the admin's noticeboards, I wondered if you would mind shortening it (removing that sentence)? It's disruptive because diffs are often used as evidence of different things there. Your repeating of the same line over and over can make things confusing. Gwynand | TalkContribs 12:46, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your signature[edit]

Thanks for helping with the new pages. Your signature, however, is IMO distracting and confusing as it enters information that has little to do with either you or the actual talk argument. Would you mind having a look at Wikipedia:Signatures and change it? Thanks.--Tikiwont (talk) 12:47, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I already did. Check this. This anime's article creator is Yelyos. This one, on the other hand, was created by WhisperToMe. Sgt_Pikachu5 12:48, 27 May 2008 (UTC). Just change sig into italics. This anime's article creator is Yelyos. This one, on the other hand, was created by WhisperToMe. Sgt_Pikachu5 12:48, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That doesn't really help much. It is still way too long, has confusing wikilinks. Please read WP:SIG to understand further the reason why we are requesting this. Continuing to use that sig will be considered disruptive. Gwynand | TalkContribs 12:51, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
There. Now small! This anime's article creator is Yelyos. This one, on the other hand, was created by WhisperToMe. Sgt_Pikachu5 12:52, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If you continue to use that message, regardless of italics or font size, it's going to create problems on AN/I, and probably for you. I've warned you a few times to just get rid of it, I see from your userpage that you are trying to be a productive editor this time around... sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and do what is asked of you. Gwynand | TalkContribs 12:55, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. What about this one? Sgt_Pikachu5talk contribs 12:58, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That one is fine, and in my opinion, looks a lot better. Thanks. Gwynand | TalkContribs 12:59, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! Sgt_Pikachu5talk contribs 13:00, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, thanks to you for considering that. Nevertheless, i can't click on the talk link in your latest version above, so there may still be something that needs to be tuned.--Tikiwont (talk) 13:32, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, this is my talk page, so it won't work anyway. Sgt_Pikachu5talk contribs 13:34, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I didn't notice, some sigs do self-link anyway, but it certainly isn't necessary.--Tikiwont (talk) 14:09, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My, my. You sir are on the ball! :-) Qst (talk) 13:26, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

User talk:69.208.127.217[edit]

That page belongs to an IP, so you shouldn't edit it as Pikachu5 on their behalf. I would in generla to suggest some restraint in refactoring other people's comments or pages. You may mean well, but it is not always easily accepted as above per User talk:Behindthescreen.--Tikiwont (talk) 14:23, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry. It's just that, this IP address created the Avatar article, since it's an IP, I can't nominate it for admin. Sorry. Sgt_Pikachu5talk contribs 14:25, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This IP is indeed credited in the edit history as creator and will eb so in the future. But how would you know that they retired, but do not edit under a different Ip or account?--Tikiwont (talk) 14:35, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Checked da contribs! But i'm not an admin, so I don't know if this is editing in another IP or account. Sgt_Pikachu5talk contribs 14:36, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Even admins won't know in general, which is why we don't speculate and leave them talk pages in peace.--Tikiwont (talk) 14:52, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions[edit]

Please be more careful when suggesting that others are sockpuppets as in Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/TownAdder where by your own declaration you are not sure. I investigated and deleted it because TownAdder created his own talk page and another user of good standing just copied his comment to the user page. If you have a concern, it is also not helpful to contact always Jimbo Wales in a rather brisk tone.

Rather that just worrying about others, it may make sense to come clean first about your own edit history. One option to allow you a clean start under the new name would require to have the old account unblocked and marked as inactive. Therefore, I'd suggest that you ask e.g via e-mail for an unblock of the old account to facilitate what I still consider a good faith start under the current account. If not, you're according your own userpage declaration technically evading the previous block. Think this over and let me know e.g tomorrow. --Tikiwont (talk) 18:34, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well i see that now that the unblock has already been declined several times and I have also to endorse the latest declines for the reason that it is not only a block evasion, but also since the messing with other user pages that I noticed above, wasn't an error but already part of the pattern that got you blocked in the first place. Sorry how this turned out but without knowing your previous history I wasn't able to advise better. I did not imply that simply asking for an unblock with reference to the new account would do the trick. To have any chance at getting unblocked you would need to show that you really understand the issues raised.--Tikiwont (talk) 07:49, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
