Orphaned non-free media (Image:CLiC logo.gif)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:CLiC logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:10, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted article[edit]

Hi, Shannon8r! I will not be able to restore your article. If you are working with permissions-en and have sent them the appropriate documentation, they'll be able to restore the article and make sure it's legal. Since I'm not part of the copyright permissions group and don't have access to that information, I don't feel able to re-add potentially copyvio material. However, another option available is for you to re-create the article but rewrite it in your own words. Thanks! -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 19:01, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings, I actually want the information on our website to be mirrored in my Wikipedia article. Any idea how long this copyright process takes? Shannon8r (talk) 19:01, 29 March 2008 (UTC)Shannon[reply]

Hi, Shannon8r! We're all volunteers, so there's no telling when someone will get to your email. From my very limited experience, a couple of days is usually all it takes.
I have several issues I'd like you to consider, though. First, you have a conflict of interest on the article about your organization. Wikipedia seriously frowns on people editing "their own" articles. You may want to read through the conflict of interest guidelines to see why and what to do about it.
Second, you should realize that even if/when the article is un-deleted, and the text from your website is "mirrored" on Wikipedia, there is absolutely no guarantee that it will stay that way. Wikipedia is a collaborative environment, and it's very likely that parts or all of the article will be re-written, information added or removed, or even fully gutted. You should be aware of ownership issues and why they aren't tolerated very well =D
I hope the article on your organization goes well. Thanks for your work! -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 21:17, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
