Burnsville edits[edit]

Thanks. Great photo of the town square. I'm sure I've got one of the Nu-Wray Inn that I took, I should try to find it and upload it, or ask my brother who must have loads of Burnsville photos. A photo of the Mt Mitchell craft fair would be great also. But Arizona doesn't seem very close to Burnsville, what's the connection? Mind you, I live in Derbyshire which is much further, but some of my fondest childhood memories involve Burnsville, including mlik shakes at Pollards' drugstore. We're long time visitors and home owners here; and now snowbirds spending half the year in Burnsville escaping the hot western US. (I loved Pollard's also; mainly for the malts!)
Saw the tag that photos were wanted and popped in the first nice one of the town square. Sure, Nu-Wray and the Crafts Fair would be great; also there's a request on Yancey_County,_North_Carolina page for one of the courthouse.
Trick is uploading through Wikimedia Commons, following all prompts and granting the Creative Commons license.

We were the opposite, heatbirds? Coming up from Miami during the summers, to Cattail Creek (off Pensacola, which is south of Burnsville). I've uploaded before, just need to find the photos! My brother now lives permanently there, 3 miles up the mountain from Pensacola. Dougweller (talk) 18:03, 10 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Lucky you to have been at the Craft Fair. Dougweller (talk) 21:28, 2 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes! It was a beautiful day, overcast but no rain, high 65. That shot from upper floor of Town Hall, have others from roof of old library but trees are so large they dominate the shots. Tried to get up on Bailey Bldg but no joy. Shapwolf (talk) 22:23, 2 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I see the Nu Wray Inn is up for sale with a price drop. I remember it decades ago - huge fantastic family style meals. Dougweller (talk) 15:25, 4 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the cleanup. I meant to get back to it but life got in the way. Why someone would claim they knew the area and then talk nonsense is hard to understand unless they were just messing around. Doug Weller talk 09:23, 1 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
