Speedy deletion nomination of User:Sheriwndprakash[edit]

Hello SherwinDPrakas,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged User:Sheriwndprakash for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Musamies (talk) 06:20, 29 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove the speedy nomination from your userpage. Either change the page or let it be deleted. If you want to delete it then replace the speedy with Db-userreq. Meters (talk) 06:40, 29 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

As the initial speedy tagger, I'm of the opinion that--being a user page--blanking the page is certainly a reasonable way to deal with a problem that could lead to speedy deletion. If this were an article or other page outside user space then blanking would not be proper, but a user page is going to exist in some form anyway so if the user blanks their own page that solves the problem. Of course there is still the problem of the active SPI case that will make all of this moot anyway. --| Uncle Milty | talk | 07:17, 29 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

As another person who has been involved in the Speedy Deletion Template process on the associated user page, it seems as if the guy blanks the page and then a few minutes later restores all of the content except the speedy deletion template to try to not get noticed by an administrator. Exactly. If I thought he was acting in good faith I would have just put the user-requested speedy tag on it myself. Since he added a batch of speedy requests and then blanked it again I'll just put the db-user on myself this time. Meters (talk) 07:43, 29 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
make that a db-blanked Meters (talk) 07:45, 29 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
My apologies. As correctly pointed out by User:TEB728 db-blanked does not apply to userpages. As long as that content remains blanked there is no problem. Meters (talk) 21:11, 1 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion[edit]

Welcome[edit]

Hello, SherwinDPrakas, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you created was Draft:Sherwin D. Prakas, which appears to be an article about yourself. This is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.

The page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome!
