Speedy deletion[edit]

remove... if you created this page... and then explain why you believe this article should not be deleted on its talk page. Rjgodoy 01:29, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We recently interviewed Moe Industries and still have a few appointments to see them and find out more about their company. In the mean time, we thought the information we have already obtained would be a good “stub” to start off with. They are a reputable company around here and as they grow I would like to continue to interview them and expand the article. The listed subsidiaries are true and are either already established or are soon to be so. This article is in no way an advertisement for the company! The quotes are confirmed by Michael himself who has given permission for their logo to be used only on Wikipedia. The trivia is also all true information which is directly and officially taken from the company.

I think it would be very unfair to take this article off, as I said, we are hoping to, and hopefully others will, keep continuing the article as the company grows. Otherwise this article contravenes none of Wikipedia’s rulings as it is true, non-advertising and serious.

Please keep the page going, if you want to monitor it that is fine. If you want to contact Moe Industries just ask me for their contact details:

P.s. if you could please tell us what we can do to edit this to keep it, please do157.128.218.206 02:33, 24 April 2007 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 157.128.218.206 (talk) 2007-04-24T01:41:06[reply]

I did not mention neither factual accuracy nor violation of WP:SPAM. Speedy deletion was proposed because the article "does not assert the importance or significance of the subject". This does not implies that Moe Industries are non-notable, it only states that notability should be demonstrated, because it is not an inherent property of commercial companies. (and, btw, I would like the article to be kept). Rjgodoy 02:00, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Great, thanks! Sorry, I'm still new to Wikipedia, what would be the best way to "assert the importance or significance of the subject"? If I could get an idea, I could try to get onto the company asap and try to get this info157.128.218.206 02:33, 24 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

I recommend you to read WP:N, WP:CORP and WP:A (although there are many other pages with advices and guidelines which may be useful if you think to edit wikipedia on a regular basis). I would also recommend you to register as user, so you can receive messages in your own talk page. (And additionaly, please remember to sign up your comments with ~~~~. I have removed the speedy deletion request from the article. I have replaced it with a cleanup template, which do not ask for the article being removed. I hope you will enhance the article. Rjgodoy 02:25, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your help Rjgodoy, I will get on to enhancing the article immediately!157.128.218.206 02:33, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why has a "non-notable corporation" warning been placed? As stated before notability is currently being researched and established. However I am busy as are those who run the company. I have already discussed the notability with User:Rjgodoy. I am working on it!Shirleythewitch 01:07, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that "as stated before notability is currently being researched", but it has not been established in the article. Please take some time to understand the difference: not only the company must be notable, but also you must explain in the article why it is notable.
About the warning you refer, in Wikipedia jargon it is known as {{prod}}, after proposed deletion. The phrase "non-notable corporation" means that the article does not fulfill "WP:CORP" (a guideline of notability criteria for organizations and companies). This does not imply that the company itself is non-notable.
A company, corporation, organization, group, product, or service is notable (for Wikipedia requirements) if it has been the subject of secondary sources. Such sources must be reliable, independent of the subject and independent of each other. You should add references in order to meet WP:CORP. For instance, you may include a list of newspaper/magazine articles about the company, stock market reports, and links to third-party web sites covering some aspect of the organization you wrote about.
If you are busy now, I suggest you to userfy the article, that is, moving it to something like User:Shirleythewitch/Moe Industries (since it may be considered a work in progress, which is not ready to be released.). I can explain you how to do it, or I can move it by myself if you agree. This should delay deletion for a reasonable time, until you collect the references.

If you could move it to the work in progress that would be good thanks! I will then update it with secondary souces as soon as I get them or when I get in contact with the company. Thanks again!Shirleythewitch 10:32, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Moved! At any time, if you need help, you can drop a message here. Alternatively, you can contact me on my talkpage
