Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello Shubhamghodke3904, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your additions to Manoj Patil have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 22:38, 17 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, Fastest Skater of India[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Fastest Skater of India. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Dhanush Babu. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Dhanush Babu. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Fram (talk) 11:03, 2 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Moving drafts to mainspace[edit]

Please don't take it upon yourself to move drafts to mainspace, as you did with Basketball IQ. The AFC process has a purpose, which you're circumventing. Basketball IQ only has a single primary source, thus questionable notability. In the move, you failed to clean up AFC templates and the cross-namespace redirect. Please focus on helpful editing of existing articles, and learn more about the policies and processes. You can also review the "How to get involved" section for the AFC WikiProject and read through all of the links to become familiar with the article reviewing process while you accumulate enough edits to meet the reviewer requirements. Hi @Shubhamghodke3904:

I saw that you recently reverted my series of copy-edits to your article Dhanush Babu without providing an edit summary. As a copy-edit was requested on the GOCE page, I was curious as to why the edits, which were focused on reducing repetition and improving organization, along with general grammar, were reverted? If the edits were unsatisfactory or you would like another copy-edit, please let me know and I'd be more than happy to give this another go with any parameters you specify. A tag has been placed on Kinita Kadakia Patel, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Shubhamghodke3904. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. bonadea contributions talk 17:11, 10 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Since you have added more promotional content since the previous speedy deletion tag was removed, and since you have an obvious conflict of interest which you have not addressed, it is in the best interest of the encyclopaedia to simply have the page deleted. --bonadea contributions talk 18:39, 10 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

What I'm seeing, on reviewing your edits, is one of two things: an editor who is not sufficiently competent to edit here, or a paid editor going to considerable lengths to avoid disclosure. Either is grounds for leaving the block in place. Yunshui  08:19, 11 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

What is your association with Kinita Kadakia Patel? 331dot (talk) 19:58, 10 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dear 331dot i am connected with her though social media, and please tell me what is commercial things that i included in the article i understand while writing we make some mistakes but this doesnt mean you people will block me like this from editing this is such a insulting thing for me, i have been editing since long time. (Shubham Ghodke) 03:16, 11 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Here's the primary issue. I already warned you above that the article was inappropriately promotional. (That's the whole thing, by the way, not just a sentence or two.) When we discussed it on my talk page, I told you some specific examples of the problem.[1] When you wrote your draft, you did several of those very same things again. So, I have to conclude that either you're not able to understand how to write neutrally, even when given explicit instructions, or that you have some incentive not to do so. In either case, you will not be permitted to continue editing about Patel. If you would like to edit other things, and will commit to both making no further edits about Patel whatsoever and to carefully ensuring you understand our neutrality requirements before making future edits, I am willing to consider an unblock. Seraphimblade Talk to me 03:42, 11 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I will stop writing about Patel kindly unblock me thats my humblke request. (Shubham Ghodke) 04:59, 11 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
And, the rest? If you just go on to write in the same way about something else, that's no good either. Seraphimblade Talk to me 05:22, 11 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
A related question: What is your connection to Rayudu Arun Kumar? The article you created about him is almost as promotional as the draft about Patel and included a lot of details that were not in any source (I removed some of that yesterday but a lot of advertising language remains). You also claim, as you did with Patel and several other people you created articles about, to have taken pictures of him yourself. A bunch of photos you uploaded to Commons have been removed for that reason – I tagged two of them as copyright violations but I see that several others were also deleted. How many of the articles and drafts you have created are about people you are in contact with? --bonadea contributions talk 06:44, 11 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Let me clear one thing i dont know anyone personally, the things is i reachout using social media just to get there orignial pictures, and about rayudu arun kumar i asked him his pictures he sent on my email then i edited it in photoshop for using it on wikipedia just not to get any strike. tahts it, and about what i have writen its already reviewed and if there is problem with the article its free to be editted anyone can fix it i dont have any objection. Thanks (Shubham Ghodke) 08:45, 11 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, then you're also falsifying the origin of those photos. "Own work" means that you were the photographer, not that you contacted someone on social media and got a photo. And it's not enough to get permission for "use on Wikipedia", the images must be released, by the photographer, under a free license, meaning that anyone is free to use them for any purpose. Do they understand that they would be doing that, and was it the photographer (or other copyright holder) who agreed to it? Regardless, however, false authorship attribution is not acceptable; you can't say "Own work" if it wasn't. The author is the name of the photographer, and using a false claim of "Own work" isn't acceptable there either. Seraphimblade Talk to me 22:36, 11 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, i will give the orignal credit to the orignal photographer under copyright holder. I am not falsing anything just the thing is i had to give the copyright unfortunetly i gave my name as author under free licence. (Shubham Ghodke) 03:05, 12 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
