Alert[edit]

This message contains important information about an administrative situation on Wikipedia. It does not imply any misconduct regarding your own contributions to date.

Please carefully read this information:

The Arbitration Committee has authorised discretionary sanctions to be used for pages regarding the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic which you have edited. The Committee's decision is here.

Discretionary sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimize disruption to controversial topics. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to the topic that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behavior, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. This message is to notify you that sanctions are authorised for the topic you are editing. Before continuing to edit this topic, please familiarise yourself with the discretionary sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.

Notice[edit]

Per WP:ARBPIA3#500/30 "All IP editors, accounts with fewer than 500 edits, and accounts with less than 30 days tenure are prohibited from editing any page that could be reasonably construed as being related to the Arab-Israeli conflict."--Shrike (talk) 09:06, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You have to use talk page to post your request and then gain WP:consensus for your edits. Also read what is WP:RS and especially WP:PRIMARY--Shrike (talk) 12:13, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'd appreciate if you would please take a moment and review our policy on using reliable sources, which does not demand removing "Iranian/Lebanon and Israeli/USA sources" from articles. GABgab 19:38, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
And now you are lapsing into antisemitism here. Someone's ethnicity, religion, nationality, race, sexual orientation, gender, etc. does not disqualify them as a reliable source. GABgab 15:55, 7 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

NOTICE: You have been topic banned[edit]

This is to notify you that you are now topic banned from all pages and discussions relating to the Arab Israeli conflict broadly construed. I am taking this measure under authority given by the Arbitration Committee in this case with a concurring consensus at this ANI discussion. This means that you may not edit any page or engage in any discussion on this subject. This topic ban is indefinite. While you are free to remove this notice at anytime from your talk page be aware that this ban remains in place until such time as you are informed that it has been modified or removed. Failure to adhere to the topic ban may result in additional sanctions being imposed including potential loss of editing privileges. You are however free to edit any page or join any discussion not covered by the topic of the ban. -Ad Orientem (talk) 01:20, 9 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Addendum: You may appeal and request that the ban be modified or lifted entirely. The normal course for such an appeal would be to go first to the Administrator who imposed the discretionary sanction (that would be me). You can also request review at the arbitration enforcement noticeboard ("AE") or at the administrators’ noticeboard WP:AN. While your TBAN is currently indefinite, I may consider a request for a relaxation of the ban or its removal at some point, not less than one year from now, in the future. In such case I would require evidence that you understand why you were topic banned and some assurance that your future editing will reflect this. -Ad Orientem (talk) 01:52, 9 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
No, thanks for this opportunity. After everything I saw here there is no such need. This make my day: "if you were FROM Serbia or Yugoslavia, then yes, arguments could be made that you had a conflict of interest". Good luck, Ad Orientem
