Re: Note on interlanguage links

Thanks for your message. I did not realize that some of those spellings were for other languages and I only intended to change the English spelling (which had all been changed to Katerine). I will look this next time. Thanks again NeuGye (talk) 17:48, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Tilaton/tilallinen

SilvonenBot lisäsi sivulle Stateful firewall linkin sivulle Tilaton palomuuri —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.194.212.73 (talk) 10:36, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

Kiitos kommentista! --Silvonen (talk) 11:37, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

Wikimania 2010 could be coming to Stockholm!

I'm leaving you a note as you may be interested in this opportunity.

People from all six Nordic Wiki-communities (sv, no, nn, fi, da and is) are coordinating a bid for Wikimania 2010 in Stockholm. I'm sending you a message to let you know that this is occurring, and over the next few months we're looking for community support to make sure this happens! See the bid page on meta and if you like such an idea, please sign the "supporters" list at the bottom. Tack (or takk), and have a wonderful day! Mike H. Fierce! 10:54, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Dear Silvonen. I looked to Russian Premier League page and found a mistake in section of All-time table. This table included championship play-offs but excluded classifiment play-off in 1992. In this season, placed teams between 6th and 10th competed in classifiment play-off and ranged from 9th to 20th. Thus, it is wrong. Plaese, you fix this mistake.--Cemsentin1 (talk) 19:42, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, but I don't know anything about this topic. Perhaps you could fix the error yourself? --Silvonen (talk) 04:59, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:03, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

(Snejanaatanasova (talk) 12:35, 17 February 2011 (UTC))

(Sorry, my Russian is too rusty to reply in the same language, and I had to use Google Translate...) Do you mean the article ru:Рорайма or some other language version of it? I haven’t actually edited the article myself; my bot has just modified the interwiki links of the page. --Silvonen (talk) 14:41, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

Shabran vs. Şabran

Do you have a strong preference? For most articles where there are diacritics in a Latin-alphabet script, we keep the diacritics unless there is a usual English name (like Munich, not München), rather than spell out the name according to English-language pronunciation (like Eskişehir in Turkey, Besançon in France, Aßlar in Germany). With that in mind, I'd like to move the various Shabran articles, templates, etc. to Şabran. Would this be OK with you? Carlossuarez46 (talk) 17:04, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

I am not the right person to ask, but I think this is a much more general issue that should first be discussed somewhere. As far as I can see, all administrative divisions of Azerbaijan are currently spelled this way (transliterated from Cyrillic Azerbaijani or Russian, or just anglicized?), i.e. Absheron Rayon instead of Abşeron, Aghjabadi Rayon instead of Ağcabədi etc. --Silvonen (talk) 04:35, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

Bot issue

Hi. Bots, including SilvonenBot, keep adding sk:The Lost Tapes (Dead Kennedys) to The Lost Tapes article, which is about a different album of the same name. Can you fix this somehow? Dan56 (talk) 04:42, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know. I can have a look at the problem, unless someone else has fixed it already. --Silvonen (talk) 10:20, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
Almost forgot this, but I have now corrected the interwiki links of both The Lost Tapes and The Lost Tapes (Dead Kennedys) in all languages. --Silvonen (talk) 04:27, 14 September 2011 (UTC)

A weird request but take a look!

Venäjän suomenkieliset paikannimet englanniksi

Millä perusteella kyrillistä kirjaimistoa käyttävän venäjän kielen translitterointi/romanisointisääntöjä englanniksi sovelletaan Venäjällä sijaitseviin, pelkästään suomenkielisiin paikannimiin, kuten Khelyulya, Yurkhyamyayarvi, Yanisyarvi, Leypyasuo, Pitkyaranta, Suoyarvi, Yaglyayarvi jne? Nimethän ovat jo valmiiksi latinalaisessa kirjoitusmuodossa Helylä, Jyrhämäjärvi, Jänisjärvi, Leipäsuo, Pitkäranta, Suojärvi ja Ägläjärvi. --85.76.188.250 (talk) 09:21, 21 April 2013 (UTC)

Oikea osoite kysymykselle on Wikipedia:Village pump tai Wikipedia:WikiProject Russia. Viipurissa oli muuten aikoinaan vielä hassumpi esimerkki: tienviitta, jossa luki latinalaisilla kirjaimilla KHEL’SINKI. --Silvonen (talk) 09:36, 21 April 2013 (UTC)
--85.76.188.250 (talk) 13:05, 21 April 2013 (UTC)

WikiMeetup Helsinki

Hi, Mikko Silvonen! Could you please help me find people, who are willing to participate in a meetup in Helsinki? FriyMan talk 08:52, 6 February 2017 (UTC)

Hello! We have a local association called Wikimedia Suomi, which has its own Twitter feed and Facebook page. Wikipedia-related events are often discussed in a Facebook group called Wikipedian ystävät (Friends of Wikipedia). The default language is Finnish, but I would imagine that most of the involved people speak English, too. Hope this helps. --Silvonen (talk) 14:53, 6 February 2017 (UTC)
