Welcome[edit]

Be civil or be ignored. Thank-you.

Feel free to leave me a new message here.
I will respond on this page unless you request otherwise.

Don't forget to "sign" your message. Just type ~~~~ at the end and Wikipedia will take care of the rest.

If you're here because you think I've made a mistake reverting one of your edits, you're probably right.
I do make mistakes. Please accept my appologies and leave your
comment below.

No problemo[edit]

Fair. Happens to the best of us.

By the way, I'm a wiki regular who can't be bothered to sign up, in case you see me popping up here and there making changes. :thumbsupsmiley:

Thanks! I really recommend you sign up. You don't have to, of course, but you gain some benefit. Your changes are tracked for you across different IP's. Also, if someone shares your IP through your service provider, having your own log-in will protect you from an IP ban. Enjoy Wiki, and BE BOLD! sinewaveTalk   22:42, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to VandalProof![edit]

Thank you for your interest in VandalProof, SineWave! You have now been added to the list of authorized users, so if you haven't already, simply download and install VandalProof from our main page. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or any other moderator, or you can post a message on the discussion page. Computerjoe's talk 12:21, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

i said an apple core was the core of an apple, you took it away and said i was experimenting...why?

Because it was incorrectly formatted, and in the wrong location. Your choice of wording was also below the standards of Wikipedia. We welcome additions to Wikipedia, but please try to maintain the format and quality of the article you are changing. sinewaveTalk   22:42, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
:-) In my defense, that VP box is supplied with VP (although I made a few changes. I wonder...). of course, I didn't notice the errors until you mentioned them... sinewaveTalk   22:42, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

link to Scripture Union, under Indonesia (http:\\www.ppa.or.id\[edit]

dear sir, the link I added is much related to the page, since it is the website of Scripture Union Indonesia, or in the Indonesian Language, Persekutuan (Union/Fellowship) Pembaca (Readers) Alkitab (Bible) or PPA in short. Please allow me to put the website under the word Indonesia. I've seen other SU movements do the same too with the space under their respective country.

James Pantou SU Indonesia.

Fair enough. Thanks for your comment. It appeared to be a "spam" link when I was monitoring, but I'll take your word for it. Welcome to Wikipedia!

Hi[edit]

Hi

Some of the changes that I and my friend made have been removed. Bijnor is my hometown. I have lived there and felt the city spirit. Its more than what we have written there - but what we wrote - those things are certainly true. U should live there sometime. Its a fun place.

-vineet

I'm sure it's a wonderful place. Home towns are always great! Please continue to edit Wikipedia, but I recommend you read the welcome page and tutorials. One important thing to remember is that edits must always maintain a neutral point of view. This is an encyclopaedia, not a general discussion site. Welcome! sinewaveTalk   22:42, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

DMF[edit]

r u kidding me i'm tryin to contribute to wikipedia, u guyz didn't mention DMF as the DMF clan , world champion of q3 and pionneer of cyber gaming, king in usa , adulated in korea ?

Sorry, an encyclopaedia and definately not a chemical definition page, is not the place for a "clan" page. Wikipedia does welcome constructive edits from anyone. Please visit the welcome page for details. A level of literacy and a neutral point of view are required, also. sinewaveTalk   22:42, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

dude chill out[edit]

If you weren't such a secularist/free thinker, perhaps you'd get a sense of humor. My God has a sense of humor. Have you also contacted the Australian authorities?

Being a secularist/free thinker means I don't feel the need to belittle somebody else's beliefs with my first breath... Your "humour" is out of place in an encyclopaedia. Please review the welcome page and tutorials concerning how to make constructive edits to Wikipedia. sinewaveTalk   22:42, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

wonder showzen quote edits[edit]

Those are actual quotes from the show. Here are clips to prove it:

"I'll call Jesus if you call the police" = http://youtube.com/watch?v=bJ6VbWNy6ZY

"I burned you with my freedom lips." = http://youtube.com/watch?v=RPffLZ8t38c&mode=related&search=

I expect a sincere apology soon.

69.231.219.2 01:17, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Either you're a moron, you've never watched Wonder Showzen, or both. Now I have to correct another couple of issues for you. Please do your research next time.

"Yuck Yuck Goose And His Sidekick His Butt" is the actual complete title. http://dumpalink.com/post/1143969253/Yuck_Yuck_Goose_and_His_Sidekick_His_Butt

And here's the link to Finger Force: http://www.augenblickstudios.com/home/wonder/bits/finger.php

Next time you're going to accuse me of vandalism, do your research first. Moron.

Your tone isn't appreciated. There are thousands of vandalism events daily on Wiki, and we must make a quick determination. You'll have an apology, and I'll log my edit as an error, if you retract the abuse. sinewaveTalk   22:42, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps I was a bit over the line, and I apologize, but please try to do some research next time.

Apology greatfully accepted. You have mine in return. We do as much research as we can while trying to keep up with the changes, and sometimes mistakes occur. I have logged this case as an error. Welcome to Wiki, and continue your valued contributions. sinewaveTalk   22:42, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mr. Garrison?[edit]

Seriously, Mr. Garrison does hate Mexicans. He tries to get rid of them every Christmas. I don't consider a fact given by South Park to be "nonsense."

Ok. I'll buy that. Go ahead and put it back. Enjoy Wiki! sinewaveTalk   22:42, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Any the comment I reverted was on the discussion page anyway! That's particularly stupid on my part since discussion pages are much more open to almost any sort of comment. Apologies x 2. sinewaveTalk   22:42, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oops my bad[edit]

I added my email to my entry in "carpet". Simply as a vehicle to invite questions. I am happy to respond to anyone with flooring questions. With over 26 years experiance in the flooring field, I feel my answers to questions can be beneficial. I, (HONESTLY) inadvertently added www to my email address. I went back to try and edit it but was unable.

The Floor Guy, David Hackney

No problem, David. I replied on your talk page with some information. Happy Wiki-ing sinewaveTalk   22:42, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wil Wheaton[edit]

I removed your addition of a link to a site on "Kyle and Rosemary" because of two reasons. First, I couldn't see why you were adding it (though this later became obvious). Second, the site requires proprietary browser plugins (flash, etc.) which goes against WP:EL. However, I am not firmly opposed to your adding this link to the page. --Yamla 02:46, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Meh. Don't sweat it. Some of my edits stay... some of my edits go. Such is Wiki. :-) sinewaveTalk   22:42, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bartlett High[edit]

I am am a former student and present faculty member at Bartlett High School in TN. We admit that Bolton High is the REAL BHS. Please allow that to be posted on that page. Thanks for your time

Please check Wikipedia Help concerning 'disambiguation' and 'page redirection' for instructions on how to accomplish your task in keeping with the Wikipedia formatting requirements. Cheers. sinewaveTalk   22:42, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Im sorry but the reference that Bolton High school is the Real bhs is simply intra school rivalry and is vandalism to both the articles. Both schools in the Memphis area are referred to as BHS, similer to the same way Collierville,Cordova High schoolm and Central high school are all refered to as CHS if we made a disambiguation page for CHS we would have 1000's of links. there is no need for a disambiguation or page redirection for BHS. considering 1000's of high schools across the US, or even world are referenced that way among the local population. If users of wikipedia wish to look up an article on Bolton High school. then they should type in Bolton High school, if there are other Bolton High schools in the world then yes, have a disambiguation page. I suspected as much but, as you know, Wiki policy is to err on the side of supporting the users. sinewaveTalk   22:42, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

a friendly request[edit]

Your signature is very cool. Seriously. But might you consider adjusting it? Right now it takes up 4 lines of code in my edit box, and it also has an image. WP:SIG states that images should not be used in signatures.
I'm not trying to discipline you or anything like that, but a user had an RFC filed against him for removing large signatures from talkpages, and quite a number of users support his position. So I would rather hear it from someone who's just trying to give you a heads-up than someone going on a bit of a campaign.
Best wishes, — riana_dzasta wreak havoc-damage report 04:37, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Saw your comment on the carbon monoxide detector discussion page - I'm looking for something citeable on the effects of thermally induced air currents on CO detection. Any ideas? Goth Fatty X 18:21, 19 January 2007 (UTC) , -danielsdoyle@gmail.com[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Galactica intro.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Galactica intro.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fair use rationale for Image:Poseidon upsidedown.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Poseidon upsidedown.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Keysuc7 (talk) 21:14, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:The cyberiad.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:The cyberiad.JPG. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Notification of automated file description generation[edit]

Your upload of File:CO DETECTOR.JPG or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
