Burmese film[edit]

Hi Skier. This is where you are going wrong amigo. Google is a very useful friend but not as complete as you might expect. Burma is missing content from the Internet for a reason. Apparently the country has had a major film industry with the Myanmar Academy Awards held annually since 1952. According to imdb the country has only ever produced 1 film. In fact in truth it had produced several thousand. Compare List of Burmese films to imdb. This is where a Burmese wikipedian (User:Ekyaw) comes in useful. He knows to reference his work if possible. All the best ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:03, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah I see i thought it was because you didn't think it was notable or something. Thanks anyway!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:31, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Skier we have a bit of a problem with User:BomBom who is creating truckloads of stubs without full categories, templates, infoboxes or tags and without the foreign language redirects. He is doing a worthy job but I wish he would listen to my requests. Could you have a word with him to try to let him know about infoboxes etc ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 11:22, 23 November 2007 (UTC) [reply]

American films of 1903[edit]

Hi Skier please can you restore American films of 1903 and American films of 1904. I didn't have a chance to format it properly hence thedeleter rather than try to help wikipedia by formatting them just deleted the entire pages, Please can you restore them without the titles and then I can format it and add the encyclopedic details. Once the titles are formatted in alphabetical order and details added this clearly isn't copywright is it!!? I haven't got time to waste having to rebuild the tables again. Evnetually it will be like American films of 1936 etc. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:18, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Its not good leaving text dumps and I can't even remember doing it -I'm very busy and was perhaps hoping somebody like the deleter would come across it and format it rather than wipe it but to claim the page is copywrighted even after the films are put in alphbaetical order and details added in the tables that is ludicrous. I'll get to it immediately anyway ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:34, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

HI Skier. I seem to be receiving a lot of messages from somebody who I don't know User:Rianon Burnet‎ . Its a bit strange. She appears to have done the same to a few other editors while here and hasn't done any editing yet. Perhaps she needs to be told it is an encyclopedia not facebook? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 22:00, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello SkierRMH! We seem to have yet another problem with a racialized "Latin" template, I'm speaking of Template:Countries with Latin Populations (Talk). I've tagged as OR - could you comment please? Thank you. The Ogre 13:27, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So, the picture is back on the page. I removed it yesterday and rewrote the article to make it closer to your version. I admit it was a clumsy attempt and I got reverted, but I don't mind because I think the article is more NPOV now. What do you think ? Have a nice day. Rosenknospe (talk) 15:53, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just to clarify why I would like to use the AWB tool. I have been cleaning up Wikipedia:Requested pictures and have now started work on Category:Wikipedia requested photographs. This category could be reduced and the requests better categories but it is a lot of repetitive work. As you can see I have the 1(s) and the A(s) down to single sub-category subjects the AWB tool would help get this job done. I know I have not edited 500 main page but check the number of Talk pages I have changed. Traveler100 (talk) 16:46, 5 December 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Hi, I saw you closed the deletion debate for {{Tooshort}}. I agree with the keep (although I prefer thre template to be deleted of coursre). But to close the debate per WP:SNOW seems excessive, there were (inluding me) two editors who states (weak) delete. It was not a WP:SNOW nomination, just Keep would have been sufficient. Deleted images which were not copyrighted[edit]

You just deleted two of my images. You wrote "Blatant copyright infringement." But neither one of them was copyrighted. One of them even had the name of the original author and permission to reproduce it printed right on the image. And I did assert that they were fair use images and gave all the explanation of where they came from.GalantFan (talk) 22:21, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was right when I said that the image was not copyrighted. The image that you incorrectly deleted was a Press Release Photo which had no copyright and was released to be free to use.

This information has been confirmed by an email to me from the current General Manager - Press & Public Relations, Andy Wertheim. Not only is the Press Photo that I posted before free to use WITH NO COPYRIGHT, but so are all the other press photos at http://www.mitsubishipress.co.uk . I am going to upload more Press photos of the Sapporo (Galant Lambda) and I expect that they will not be deleted this time.GalantFan (talk) 20:13, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, what's up. Did you notice that article had had a prod template removed earlier in its history? I was gonna AFD, but it's up to you. Peace, delldot talk 02:49, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Huh, weird indeed. I dunno, I totally don't care what we do. I'm glad to afd it if you want, but it's really up to you. It might be kind of a "use common sense" situation, since obviously no one cares, and the other prod tag was so long ago. Just thought I'd give you a heads up. Peace, delldot talk 03:17, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Could you explain why you think this image does not have the proper license tag? I see nothing unusual about it... --Fritz S. (Talk) 16:53, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Same goes for Image:Worldtradecentre.jpg. In the future, it would be helpful if you included your reason in the tag like this {{wrong-license|reason}} so it's easier for other editors to sort these out. --Fritz S. (Talk) 16:57, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi:Problem[edit]

There is currently a edit war going, on going by this user User:Davnel03, who is not a real registered user here on wikipedia. He has either hacked into that account, or is just signing under that name. The original user with that name has changed it to User:D.M.N.. The "imitator" is reverting many edits to World Wrestling Entertainment roster he could possibly be violating the 3RR rule. Please help. see here for the discussion --TrUcO9311 (talk) 19:22, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Block Davnel03 indefinitely. I've got a slight feeling it might be a sock of Cowboycaleb1, who was blocked indef several months ago. It almost certainly isn't me. Davnel03 has made contributions. Cheers, Davnel03 22:00, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the block on Davnel03, but I wouldn't call it a compromised account. I used to be Davnel03 until I requested my account to be moved to D.M.N. I'm almost certain this is a sockpuppet of Cowboycaleb1. Could you possibly change the template to sockpuppet of Cowboycaleb? Cheers, Davnel03 22:17, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not forcing you to belive me but, here's a little bit of evidence. Cheers,

  • [1] - Davnel03 edit
  • [2] - Cowboycaleb1 edit
  • [3] - Cowboycaleb1 blanking
  • [4] - Davnel03 blanking

Replacing my photos[edit]

I am not sure as to what you are talking about when you say that there is nothing that shows I am the owner of these photos on Flickr? Did you open the captions on the photographs in question to read the disclaimers? Well, I don't think you could have. If you will look here [5] you will clearly see my flickr name as well as my Wikipedia name. The same thing goes for the photo with The Cook Family Singers. I would appreciate you restoring the photos and I will put the correct information on them. Thank you Junebug52 17:20, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reply[edit]

As a third party, it would be imprudent for me to join any side in the dispute, which in this case is the addition/removal of the {{NPOV}} tag. It is best to leave it at the currently protected version and resolve the underlying issues at hand, unless, of course, your dispute has been resolved, in which the protection would have been pointless. —Kurykh 01:34, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps instead of arguing whether the tag is appropriate or not, I would encourage you to resolve the underlying issues relevant to the article instead of worrying about the nuances of a tag. Sorry if I'm coming across as blunt, but many people find the edit-warring on the inclusion/exclusion of the tag extraordinarily lame and should be put to rest immediately. —Kurykh 01:42, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I thought you were a party. I retract my statement. —Kurykh 01:44, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think it's best if the page is left alone. It's a hotspot for lame edit warring, and creating further drama out of a tag would be even worse. —Kurykh 01:45, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
