A tag has been placed on Skinu, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because it is an article about a certain web site, blog, forum, or other community of web users that does not assert the importance or significance of that web location. If you plan to provide more notable material to the article, I advise you to do so immediately, and also put a note on Talk:Skinu. An administrator should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 1 under Articles. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and then immediately add such material.Diez2 16:04, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  1. You've recreated this article twice after it was deleted, despite warnings on your talk page
  2. This is a blatant ad about a company not nearly important enough to be included here

Now, can you please stop wasting our time? yandman 16:15, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That was sneaky. When an article is deleted, you don't recreate it immediately afterwards. Do this again, and you'll be blocked, your IP will be blocked, and your company will be blacklisted from Wikipedia and similar sites. yandman 15:44, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Could we have this guy blocked, please? He's pulled this trick three times now. yandman 16:07, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Warning[edit]

Please do not recreate this article. If it has been deleted three times it is safe to say it is not a proper subject for an article here. See WP:Notability for details. Thanks. --Guinnog 16:56, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Guinnog I appreciate your proper response so that I understand how to use this site properly. Honestly, I was just curious to what all the buzz was about Wiki's in general so I thought I would give it a test drive, what a first bad trip this was. I think that the moderators of the site should be less harsh on new-commers and give them a chance of explanation before insulting them or calling them sneaky. I truly wanted to write a usefull article about the word I founded. I understand that my first attempt was blantant twoards what the site does in terms of it's e-commerce, I am not trying to advertise here, we are doing just fine in that department, but somehow I still feel that the creator of a word has a right to express what it means, and I am not sure I even know how to do that here anymore.— Preceding unsigned comment added by skinuteam (talkcontribs)
I'm sorry that you have had a bad experience here. You have to understand that as a downside of the enormous popularity of Wikipedia, we now have a flood of spam articles being created. No offence is intended to what you wrote before you knew our rules, or to you personally. Here, I'll give you a proper welcome, in case you decide you want to contribute. I hope you do, but it should not be in an area where you have too strong a financial or emotional interest. Best wishes --Guinnog 17:13, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutly understood and respected. You have been a great help, I am sure I'll get the hang of this soon enough. Thanks for all your explanations.Skinuteam 17:22, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Guinnog - one more question that I hope you can answer. My original intention of this article was to give a history of SkinU in case our useres wanted to know more about how we got things going. If you go to Ebay You will see that they have acheived what I was trying to do. They bluntly come out and tell you that they are an ecommerce site. I guess I don't understand from my initial article why we are not able to post an article that is similar to the history of Ebay versus the history of SkinU, granted we are not as big, but still have a huge following of people. I think what I am asking is can you give me any suggestions on how to write the history of our website without getting it deleted? It just seems contraversial to me that you allow ebay to talk about their site but I can't post 3 paragraphs about how Ken and I the owners got things going and founded SkinU. If you have a moment refer back to my postings and see where I went wrong, I would love to properly write an inerstion just about our history. At this point I am a little gunshy because I don't want to get blacklisted.Skinuteam 19:20, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. The main issue is one of notability. If you read that policy I referred you to, it should I hope explain why Ebay has an article but your company does not, yet. I wish yuo all success but I hope you will see as I explained to you previously that we cannot, as an encyclopedia, be seen to be promoting a site which still lacks notability. Why don't you, as I said, try to make some contriburions in areas not involving your company. I've taken down the helpme tags for now, but please feel free to put them up again if you still feel you require more help, or if you would like a second opinion. Best wishes, --Guinnog 19:30, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Gotchya - Looks like I have a lot to learn here. I'll put that to rest. Thanks again Skinuteam 19:33, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
