Proofreading[edit]

Hey Skittleys, I'll just slowly add comments here one at time instead of saving up a big bunch. I do realize that you are still in the middle of working on this.

Redirects based on sections[edit]

  • Typo: Example for {{R to section}} should be capitalized "Reverse cowgirl", not "Reverse Cowgirl". (The redirect title has always been this way, but the section title was accidentally miscapitalized back in April (as part of a vandalism repair) and the redirect target was updated recently to match. I just fixed both per MOS:HEAD.) Once this document is finished I will extract the various examples used so we can keep an automated watch on them for changes that would affect their use here. -- ToET 03:30, 11 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • most often used? -- This is most often used to redirect to characters who merit their own section in an article but do not merit their own article. This use is given as an example at WP:TMR, and it is a fine example but it in no way represents the majority use. I just ran a quick analysis of three separate twenty element random samplings from all redirects tagged {{R to section}}, and partitioned the redirects as "non-fiction / fiction but non-character / fictional character" and was pleasantly surprised at the results of 17 / 3 / 0, 15 / 4 / 1, and 15 / 2 / 3. It is easy to get the impression that Wikipedia is dominated by coverage of fiction, so it was pleasant to see that three quarters of the section redirects dealt with non-fiction topics. (I'm happy to share the specific data if you wish, but I figured that I'm taking up enough space here already. My favorite randomly sampled fictional character came from run 3: The Legendary Black Beast of Aaaaarrrrrrggghhh.) -- ToET 04:19, 11 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
