- Thanks Vacant0! I think I've hit a wall in my effort to improve the Cure Violence article. Since what I'm looking for is not a quick ask, I'll use the help me template.

If you need more help, you can , contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page, or consider visiting the Teahouse. - Context: I want to improve the Cure Violence page because I think that it's important that articles on these topics are accurate and complete considering the political climate. When I found the article, it seemed very biased in favor of the organization and seemed incomplete. The 3 main components that I view as essential to the article are their history, their methodology, and public reaction (academic, institutional, and popular). While I have done some work on the model section, I think that I need to focus on completing the history section first so that I have the proper context when improving the other sections.
- Request: I need help understanding how to find high-quality information and/or create a high-quality article in absence of records. For example, one significant moment in their history is when they reorganized from being a Chicago-based organization that had some partners to being a global organization which happened to have a site in Chicago (eg, CeaseFire Chicago splitting into 2 separate organizations, one carrying the namesake and the other being Cure Violence). All I can find about this is a press release announcing that it happened, and the newspapers are inconsistent in referring to Cure Violence as the same organization with a new name, or a new organization split off from the original one (I think the latter is more accurate). I have been primarily searching newspapers.com to find sources, and the reorganization is only mentioned off-hand, mostly to let readers know that they are the "same" organization (for the purposes of local Illinois papers, they are practically the same). There are some books that discuss Cure Violence in the context of violence reduction, and these might be useful when discussing methodology, but they don't really go into the history of the organization or what exactly the relationship is between Cure Violence and the implementing sites (do they just provide advice? control budgets? conduct audit? Any, all, or none of these are possible). This is not the only place where I am having difficulty conducting high-quality research, but it is exemplary of the problems I am facing.

- If you're lacking reliable sources (I think that's when you mean by "records"), then it's going to be difficult to correct things, at least beyond removing anything that's not reliably sourced. Newspapers (excluding press releases and interviews, which aren't fact-checked), and books that have been fact-checked are generally reliable.
