Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that the username you have chosen (Society of Authors) seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.

Hi Daniel. I'm sorry if I have acted outside the rules on usernames. I was trying to be transparent whilst updating factual information on pages that relate to the Society of Authors. I am happy to change usernames, although I must admit that I struggle with most of the techie terminology! I'm a bit puzzled about why being a representative of a not for profit organisation is so bad! Any tips you can give me will be gratefully appreciated! Thanks very much. Could you please take the time to read WP:COI and respond to these questions: Here are a few key questions:

Do you understand that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and not a business directory?
Do you understand conflict of interest?
Do you understand that to be considered for an encyclopedia article, the subject must be notable?

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy.
