Marvel Snap

Hello! I'm very new to Wikipedia and just today saw the edit history for Marvel Snap. I'd love to discuss why I think a list of characters is a valuable feature for the page. Marvel Snap has a large focus on collecting cards/characters, having a list of cards(with links to their lore as mentioned by another user) would be a very valuable feature for many visitors to learn about the characters in the game. Maybe adding the character list as a smaller category within the gameplay section, with a sentence discussing that major part of the game. I'd argue that the collection aspect of the game is nearly as important as the "match gameplay" which is already described there. I'm very passionate about Marvel Snap but I of course respect Wikipedia's rules and manuals, however I'd argue since the collection aspect of the game is central to its gameplay, a list of collectible characters is a reasonable addition. I'd love to discuss further if you'd like. Drewfusmcge7 (talk) 00:55, 13 January 2023 (UTC)

Hi Drewfusmcge7, welcome to Wikipedia. It's great that you want to improve the article of Marvel Snap, but a long list of characters doesn't add anything substantial. I've pointed to WP:GAMEGUIDE, since Wikipedia isn't one. Even more so, Wikipedia is written for a general audience, not for people familiar with Marvel Snap. To get an encyclopedic understanding of the subject, we do not need to list the cards/characters. Take the character Debrii for instance: listing and linking to the character does not make me understand Marvel Snap any better or how Yondu is different. It would be WP:GAMETRIVIA to list their in-game functions, statistics, attacks, weaknesses, etc. What can be added is an example of how certain characters work, in the gameplay section. That's a better option, that helps with understanding the game from a general encyclopedic point.
But if you like to help Wikipedia, in its current state, Marvel Snap can be expanded upon. There's very little on its development and even less on its reception, when the reception table shows all these reviews. That's what makes it notable in the first place, that's what Wikipedia articles are for. Not gameguide material, but you know, boring, un-sexy information on development and reception. Hope this helps. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 08:52, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
Thank you for the welcome and the thoughtful reply. I will think about ways I can improve the page outside the character list. Drewfusmcge7 (talk) 19:52, 18 January 2023 (UTC)

Rollback

Hi Soetermans. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or RedWarn.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Katietalk 16:51, 16 January 2023 (UTC)

Hi KrakatoaKatie, thanks again for granting me powers beyond belief. I of course understand the difference between vandalism and a good faith edit, but what about the middle ground? For example, I've been reverting gameguide material on Marvel Super War (see history). Earlier today, Mykz 2.0, a newly created account, added an even more detailed gameguide section, which I reverted. Benefit of the doubt in that case and undo instead of rollback? soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 17:13, 16 January 2023 (UTC)

Pedro Pascal name change

Hello! I figured I would message you instead of edit-warring on the Wikipedia page of Pedro Pascal. I looked at Chilean naming customs, and they ARE the same as Spanish naming customs, the same as what virtually every country in Spanish-speaking Latin America uses. This is what the Wiki says:

Instead of primer apellido (first surname) and segundo apellido (second surname), legally, the following expressions are used: apellido paterno (paternal surname) and apellido materno (maternal surname). Both surnames are equally important and having two surnames is obligation for any person in birth registrations, the use of them are mandatory for any official document.

The only difference I can see is the terms that are used to describe paternal and maternal surnames. The naming system itself is still Spanish naming customs. However I've seen other websites that say apellido paterno and "apellido materno" when describing the naming customs of ALL Spanish-speaking countries, so I don't see why his page needs to say he has a "Chilean" name as opposed to a "Spanish" name (I'm not referring to the actual origins of his surnames here).

To clarify, I'm not Spanish but instead of Portuguese (Brazilian) origins and we use a naming system very similar to Spanish naming customs. As far as I know, most to all of the former Portuguese colonies use the same naming customs that Portugal has. FrozenIcicle (talk) 15:52, 19 February 2023 (UTC)

Hi FrozenIcicle! Thanks for reaching out and starting a discussion. I have to be honest: I'm not familiar with Spanish naming customs or those of Latin America. Since there is such a thing as Chilean name, I'd figure there must be some difference. Maybe you can start a discussion at Talk: Pedro Pascal? Perhaps it's a good idea to check with WP:CHILE (or even WP:SPAIN? I'm afraid I'm very busy with real life and can't say I can be actively involved. Im sorry about that i wanted to delete the text about the game having stealth elements (when it only has the option of taking out enemies with a QTE) and i thought that if i delete the text i should delete the source so it doesn't lead to information that isn't present anymore. Atomic Heart

Why do you revert all my edits? What does 'Russian links' even mean? Is it prohibited to be a Russian developer or to be Russian investor with ties to Kremlin? Don't you agree, that these 2 statements are not the same? And this should be explained in preambula. Orange-kun (talk) 08:30, 24 March 2023 (UTC)

You can find the answers to your questions by reading the actual article beyond the lead. See Atomic Heart (video game)#Controversy. Stop adding unnecessary or ambiguous words to the lead. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 08:33, 24 March 2023 (UTC)
What can be more ambiguous than Russian links? Lead shouldn't be ambiguous, please change it to reflect the facts. And they aren't 'unnecessary'--Orange-kun (talk) 08:43, 24 March 2023 (UTC)
The lead is the summation of the article. I've pointed you to the relevant section. I'll break down your edits. Currently, the Atomic Heart (video game)#Controversy reads:

Atomic Heart developer Mundfish has been accused of harvesting data of users based in Russia and providing it to Russia's security services. The developer has denied the allegations.[1][2][3] While Mundfish itself has no direct ties to Russian president Putin, its publisher and some of its investors are.[4]

The game has become subject of controversy due in part of its anticipated release date, which nearly coincided with the first year anniversary of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine and Defender of the Fatherland Day. Critics had questioned the timing of the release of a game featuring Soviet and Russian military themes. Mundfish claimed that the company is neutral in world affairs and "do not comment on politics or religion" and the studio is "is undeniably a pro-peace organization against violence against people".[1][2][3] The Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation criticised the statement for its vagueness, saying "the developers of the game did not come out with a public statement condemning the Putin regime and the Russian invasion of Ukraine."[5]

Independent of this criticism, the game's music composer Mick Gordon released a statement condemning the war and donating his fee from the project to the Red Cross Ukraine Crisis appeal.[1][6]

  • With these edits, you changed 'Russian links' to 'Vladimir Putin'. That's not what the section says: Mundfish is accused of harvesting data and the publisher has ties to the Putin regim, not to Vladimir Putin directly.
  • With this edit, you changed the wording to ambiguous and you're casting doubt. "Despite the fact" is editorialising on your part. Atomic Heart was released in February 2023, of course it got more attention then and that's part of the controversy, with a Russian-developed first-person shooter game with Soviet influences. And that a game has been in development for a long time doesn't somehow mean there aren't any ties to the Putin regime. Maybe you don't agree, but that's what the sources say (see references).
  • With your latest edit, you unnecessarily added the {{clarify}} template. It looks like you're trying to cast doubt on the supposed Russian links, but the sentence reads "It has been the subject of controversy over its alleged Russian links, following the country's ongoing invasion of Ukraine", so "Russian links" is directly followed by the invasion of Ukraine. There's very little room for doubt or misinterpretation there. I hope this helps. I see on your talk page that you speak (and I assume, also read) Russian. The article of Atomic Heart can be expanded upon, if you can find the Russian-language sources, please expand the article. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 09:00, 24 March 2023 (UTC)

ConnorThomasCleary (talk) 15:01, 1 April 2023 (UTC)

Hi ConnorThomasCleary, welcome to Wikipedia. I believe you're referring to this edit. You changed the 'writer(s)' field from Sam Winkler to Sam Winkler, Connor Thomas Cleary, Dante Silva, Lin Joyce, Sam Maggs, Joel McDonald and Danny Homan. Please see Template: Infobox video game#Full syntax:
1. If a single person is credited as "scenario director" or "scenario writer", list that person; synonyms for this position include "lead writer";
2. If there is a person credited as "scenario concept writer" or "[original] concept", also list that person here;
3. List no more than three people in this field.
Sam Winkler is credited as lead writer, I'm afraid you and your coworkers are to be omitted from the infobox. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 15:25, 1 April 2023 (UTC)
Putting aside the fact that those specific terms are essentially irrelevant to how most game writing teams work, or how game writer titles work, because I'm not about to start that fight.
So if I understand this, and you, correctly, I should be able to at least put the three largest writing contributors? Which would be Sam Winkler, Connor Thomas Cleary, and Dante Silva. ConnorThomasCleary (talk) 14:10, 2 April 2023 (UTC)
Well, no. No. 1 of the field description says "If a single person is credited as "scenario director" or "scenario writer", list that person; synonyms for this position include "lead writer", bold my emphasis. Sam Winkler has been credited as lead writer. No. 2 says "If there is a person credited as "scenario concept writer" or "[original] concept", also list that person here" and No. 3 says "List no more than three people in this field". You and your direct coworkers were not credited as "scenario concept writer" or "[original] concept", but as senior writers. No. 1 says list "scenario director", "scenario writer" or "lead writer", No. 2 says we can mention "scenario concept writer" or "[original] concept", No. 3 says keep it to three people. Nowhere does it say we can add two other writers besides the person credited as lead writer. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 14:21, 2 April 2023 (UTC)
But I'm telling you, those literally are not titles in the Video Game Industry. I have been in AAA game development for 5 years and I've never seen those titles before reading the Wikipedia description you're referring to. I was the Lead Side Mission Writer on the project, I managed a team and wrote most of the side missions myself, I deserve to be credited on Wikipedia. At this point it really just feels like you're being a stickler for the purpose of being a stickler. Those titles you mention, all except "Lead Writer", are basically gibberish. The thing says you can list up to 3 writers in that space. So let me do that. ConnorThomasCleary (talk) 15:49, 6 April 2023 (UTC)
Why do you think you "deserve to be credited"? You weren't the lead writer, right? As it stands those are the guidelines and the guideline doesn't say we can randomly add two more people so we're not about to. Feel free to start a discussion on WikiProject Video Games though. Also, I failed to mention, you have a clear conflict of interest. You shouldn't edit the article at all, since you worked on it. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 16:15, 6 April 2023 (UTC)
To answer your question: Because I wrote nearly half of the game's content myself, plus managed and edited other writers' work on another large chunk of the content. Plus consistently consulted on the rest of the game, the main campaign. (There is significantly more side mission content than main campaign content.) And I was the official "Lead Side Mission Writer" during production. I had no control over how we were titled in the credits, and credits in video games are simply not consistent across the industry.
As for the conflict of interest, I think there's obviously a big difference between adding provable facts to the infobox, and trying to add something subjective to the main article.
But fine, I guess I have no choice but to start a discussion over there. Because the current infobox guidelines have almost no relevance to how a AAA game is either written or credited. ConnorThomasCleary (talk) 11:58, 8 April 2023 (UTC)
Oh, and the infobox video game page also says "The popular names of the video game writers (*Plural). The names can wikilinked. The writers should be listed in the order of their contribution..." ConnorThomasCleary (talk) 12:06, 8 April 2023 (UTC)

Hi Chiswick Chap, you're welcome. Likewise, you did great work. I just went over the article once more. I'm not convinced File:Tolkien's Moral Geography of Middle-Earth.svg about Tolkien's "moral geography" is needed: it's not referenced in the article. Thoughts? soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 19:36, 21 April 2023 (UTC)
Thanks. Magoun and his "moral geography" are discussed and cited in the text, so if you think the image off-topic, the text is also. Certainly there is quite a bit of overlap with Tolkien and race which could be reduced if anyone is feeling strong! Chiswick Chap (talk) 19:56, 21 April 2023 (UTC)
Hi Chiswick Chap, sorry if I wasn't clear. The bit says

John Magoun, writing in the J.R.R. Tolkien Encyclopedia, states that Middle-earth has a "fully expressed moral geography". Any moral bias towards a north-western geography, however, was directly denied by Tolkien in a letter to Charlotte and Denis Plimmer, who had recently interviewed him in 1967: Auden has asserted that for me 'the North is a sacred direction'. That is not true. The North-west of Europe, where I (and most of my ancestors) have lived, has my affection, as a man's home should. I love its atmosphere, and know more of its histories and languages than I do of other parts; but it is not 'sacred', nor does it exhaust my affections. I do have, for instance, a particular fondness for the Latin language, and among its descendants for Spanish. That it is untrue for my story, a mere reading of the synopses should show. The North was the seat of the fortresses of the Devil [ie. Morgoth].

Orcs aren't mentioned in that part, and to me it feels WP:OR / WP:SYNTH to suggest that orcs have a place in Tolkien's "moral geography" – it could be that the source hasn't been utilised properly and there is something there about orcs, but as the text currently I don't think it's needed. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 20:49, 21 April 2023 (UTC)
I think the material is unnecessary here, even wandering off-topic, and as I said if we remove the graphic half we also have to remove the textual half. Please feel free to go ahead and do that. Chiswick Chap (talk) 07:41, 22 April 2023 (UTC)
PS: We're now getting a massive growth in the Games section. I've suggested we hive it off to Orc in games (should that be Orcs in games?) as it's unbalancing the article, again. I think it's properly sourced or I'd simply advocate cutting it. Chiswick Chap (talk) 07:57, 22 April 2023 (UTC)
Hey Chiswick Chap, thanks for keeping me posted. My family and I are going on holiday for the coming week, I might not be able to properly go over the article. I'm not sure a split is warranted, making an "x element in x type of media" seems Fandom/TVtropes material, but perhaps it's substantial enough. Maybe check with WP:VG, it's a very active WikiProject. Have a good weekend and happy editing! soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 08:54, 22 April 2023 (UTC)

All your base are belong to us

The edit I made definitely belongs on the all your base are belong to us page. The page is about a niche meme that has been used a handful of times by nerds in various films, shows, media and real life, which is even mentioned in the article. Yet, you believe it’s not valuable to include an example of one of those references. One which nerds that would take the time to look up the meme would actually be interested in, ironic.

You mentioned that only edits should only be added if they’ve received independent coverage. That is not the prerequisite for adding information to wikipedia.

Also you might want to edit your pre-drafted letter you send to people that make edits you don’t like. It’s condescending and makes you seem like a mod; you’re not… but don’t worry, I thought it was fun. Zoroastryan (talk) 06:40, 22 April 2023 (UTC)

Hi Zoroastryan, thanks for starting a discussion. You've been a registered editor since September 2022 and with this talk page comment you've got five edits to your name. I'm going to assume you're still fairly new to Wikipedia and its guidelines.
What you did is considered original research: you noticed the bit on Futurama, found a clip on YouTube and decided to add it. But that's not how Wikipedia works: we need independent coverage, by a reliable source on the topic. That we can add.
About the bit in question, Wikipedia is not intended for "nerds that would take the time to look up the meme". Wikipedia is written for a large audience and for a general reader, not people remotely familiar or even interested in memes, be they nerds or not. The internet is a big place, I'm confident there is some dedicated website out there that lists all the examples of that particular meme. Without substantial coverage by independent reliable sources, Wikipedia is not the place for that kind of thing.
Like I said, you seem to be new to this thing, a giveaway is we use the word administrator, or admin for short, not moderator or mod like on a forum. I am not pretending to be an admin at all, I issued you a warning for disruptive editing. In a very short time you added the same thing three times. It should've become clear to you already know that it isn't suitable.
You are more than welcome to help Wikipedia become a better place! Perhaps check out the guidelines? If you have any questions, feel free to ask here. Thanks, and happy editing. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 06:54, 22 April 2023 (UTC)
You’re on a roll with your assumptions. I’ve been editing without an account for a long time, but no worries, you assume this is my first rodeo, ok let’s do it.
Wikipedia is written for a large audience, but that doesn’t dictate how individual pages are written. And you certainly aren’t the arbiter of truth in terms of what is or isn’t appropriate so stop speaking as if you speak for wikipedia.
If a page about a meme which has only appeared in a handful of instances in media and only a handful of people would recognize had a list of where the meme was used, that would be fantastic and absolutely appropriate for wikipedia. That’s what I’m contributing towards.
Thank you for informing me that wikipedia uses the word admin rather than mod. Congratulations you spend all your time on wikipedia. I honestly don’t care about the name wiki uses internally to describe mod/admin, whatever. I mean it’s this level of pedantry that I appreciate, it’s something special. Point is, you aren’t that, but you definitely write like you are. To me that means you’re trying to spook people you think are new editors into stopping. It’s disingenuous and sad, but that’s what makes it funny to me. Anyway, let’s see how this pans out. Zoroastryan (talk) 15:41, 22 April 2023 (UTC)

Unfortunatley I have a real life and will be busy but i will try to fix it when i am free and next time you Harress me with FALSE WARN OF DISRUPTIVE EDITING, taked the matter to WP:ANI as I don't seem to be the only victim of you Uncivil ayttack! Dilbaggg (talk) 05:50, 23 April 2023 (UTC)

AGAIN you harass me on talk page with falsew warn of disruptivbe ediyting, yopu are the one disruptively editing by removing sourced content without consensus! Also if someone removes your message from talk page you have 0 right to add them back: [1] . I DARE you to go to WP:AIV they will recommend you to WP:ANI anyway cause I have not vandalized the article rather you like a buraucat want to show ownership of the article and remove contributions of editors you don't like. The dice is rolled then, go to AIV or wherever you want but don't vandalize my talk page again, 24 hour limit WP:3RR is over and I will add that content unless a proper consensus is reached and its your job to seek WP:RfC as you remove established contents, just two editors challengging one is insufficinet. Best wishes.! Dilbaggg (talk) 09:42, 25 April 2023 (UTC)
Btw I see you are a veteran editor since 2006, I always respect senior editors, is it too much to ask to seek a consensus and solve the matter WP:Civilly? And yes the casino and mansion did play an important role in the plot and is supported by WP:RS of the game, so why remove it just because you favor a different editor instead of giving your own valid reason? I even complied with the 700n word limits and removed unnessary references to Ke3n Rosenberg as Madd Dog's mansion plays a more crucial role in the plot than him. But anyway I no the rules so please do not undo my talk page again, see [2] best if we can seek WP:DR from a neutral party. I am again not allowed to edit the article for the rule but please prove that the3 mansion is not part of the plot, it is supported by WP:RS meets WP:Notable and is WP:V. Good day. Dilbaggg (talk) 09:58, 25 April 2023 (UTC)
No, Dilbaggg, WP:DROPTHESTICK. You are blocked because of your edit warring. If you still WP:DIDNTHEARTHAT... Competence is required, you know. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 11:27, 25 April 2023 (UTC)

@soetermans I admit I was guilty of WP:EW as I did not fully understand WP:3RR, maybe I didn't understand it before cause I didn't come accross any other project like Grand Theft Auto which is dominated by a few oligarchs acting like they WP:OWN the articles and dismiss any ediots they don't think go on the plots even tho those are Wp:V and WP:RS and WP:Notable purely based on the oligarchs' presonal view and you appear to be the master oligarch. The OG writer of the article User talk:RadicalBender apparently left all the way back in 2007 due to such behavior.

Also Lilian [3] seems linked to you based on their editing of your talk page and removing your war. Anyway while IO admit and regret my guilt of WP:EW I did not vandalize the article like you falsely claimed on my talk page, and false warn qand Uncivil edits like yours are not welcome and maybe it is you who needs Competence is required, who are you to tell me I need it, no admins or anyone did, so why do you think your personal effect here should be accepted, as you said "I am not worth it", who are you to decide it? [4] This is personal attack and do not do that again. Also when the user you talk to removes your talk page messages you can't add them back, I was told that myself by an admin. Like if you remove this I won't be able to add back either, that also counts as disruiptive editing which must stop as well as false accusation of vandalism, the admins cheeckd and I admit my guilt of WP:EW but next time you falsely accuse me of W:Vandal I suggest you go to WP:ANI and see what happens.

Anyway bottomline I see at the moment GTA articles are dominated by oligarchs making the articles poorly structured and barely legible to our readers. We must keep readers interest in mind, you guys give Wikipedia a bad rep of being unreliable. I have brought it to attention, if you are gonna use selective inclusion to the plot and just remove edits by anyone not on your team (whatever you say, the mansion and casino ownership in SA are highly NOTABLE), then I think the entire3 Plot sections should be removed based on improper citation and selective additions and ownership issues of yours. I unfortunately have a busy life and don't have the time for it at the moment but I have pointed out the issues with GTA artiocles maybe others will review and someday fix this oligarchic behavior. I won't bother with GTA articlesm dominated by oligarchic and possibly linked editors for the forseable future and whatever your ne3xt message maybe i will not reply unless its about something new, but last thing I urge you not to falsely accuse people of vandalism juist because edits do not fit your personal views (most important), not to be uncivil and not to undo talk pages which you don't have the right to I linked it before. Good day and wish you luck in future endeavors but hopefully the GTA articles will be saved from you someday. Best wishes. Peace. Goodbye. Dilbaggg (talk) 04:22, 27 April 2023 (UTC)

Hay Day edit reverts

Hello! First Note: Im relatively new to wikipedia, sorry if I messed anything up. But I would find it pretty interesting to know why my edits on the hay day page has been reverted. The first one was intended to generally improve the grammar of the page / make it more understandable.

The second one just went into detail a little more, however, I wouldn't see it as a guide. I just explained the core areas of gameplay more. Was it too much for the section?

Anyways,I don't get what the first one did wrong. The second one can be argued about with its length, but the removal of the first edit seems kinda unneccesary from my Point of View.

Anyways, sorry If I messed up. PferdesalamiMann (talk) 19:53, 19 May 2023 (UTC)

Hi PferdesalamiMann, welcome to Wikipedia. I'm afraid it's a moot point, the gameplay section has been unsourced. Please see WP:GAMEGUIDE why it's not suitable material for Wikipedia. Warhammer: Age of Sigmar

Hello! I'm new to Wikipedia, so I beg of you to understand that even if I do not know all of the rules and customs, I am doing this out of good will and not malice. I choose to revert the changes made by you on May 2nd, because I believe that the information was necessary to understanding the universe more, than the information left. In other similar pages, such as the Warhammer Fantasy, Warhammer 40k, and Middle-Earth STB, they have comparable information to the information provided in Warhammer AOS within their pages (WH40k & ME STB) or in sister pages (WHF) with a small list to show the offerings in the game. If those pages provide equal, or even greater information than it would be reasonable to assume that the same level of information is also allowed.

I believe that the information provided on the other Warhammer and Middle-Earth STB pages do not violate the rules of Wikipedia, but if you believe otherwise then, you may do with that information as you wish.

I believe that this conflict may be simply resolved through simply creating another page for the Age of Sigmar information and providing a list of the worlds and factions available on the page with no blurb, moving the information removed to another (that is) new page.

Thank you very much, for both your time and patience. -Dragonair23 Dragonair23 (talk) 23:04, 20 May 2023 (UTC)

I ask that you answer my query about this discussion. I feel as if both the Warhammer Age of Sigmar and the Middle-Earth Strategy Battle Game pages have had substantial decreases in quality, so I must ask how these changes fit within the Wikipedia guidelines? The majority of sections do not constitute as a game guide on either page. I ask for a response with haste, if you cannot give a reason right now, then I ask that you respond with something other than silence.
I wish you the best wishes, -Dragonair23 Dragonair23 (talk) 12:50, 23 May 2023 (UTC)
Hi Dragonair23, please slow down. As you can see on the top of my talk page, "This user is busy in real life and may not respond swiftly to queries". Wikipedia is a volunteer-based project and I've got other things to worry about than some article you recently stumbled upon.
You registered your account on May 20 and besides editing my talk page made four edits to articles. Are you familiar at all with Wikipedia guidelines? You seem to know how reverting worked, have you edited before anonymously through an IP address or under a different account? It's odd that your first actions here are reinstating massive texts of inappropriate material.
On Age of Sigmar, you reinstated 27,000+ characters, on Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game even more, more than 34,000. Wikipedia is not a WP:GAMEGUIDE and does not mirror works of fiction (WP:NOTPLOT). An encyclopedic article should provide information relevant to the general reader, not for people remotely familiar with the subject, let alone fans or insiders. A bit like:

Maggotkin of Nurgle: The servants of the god of Plague, Entropy, and Disease, Nurgle. As a god of plague, Nurgle is a horrifically bloated and rotted entity that resides within mansion at the centre of a twisted "garden", where he creates every disease in existence. Nurglite mortals (known as Rotbringers) generally revere Nurgle out of hunger power of desperation, often turning to him to avoid starvation or death from plague. Nurglite daemons are decayed, shambling creatures that maintain the Garden in Nurgle's stead. Nurgle's realm of choice was the fertile realm of Ghyran, wherein he sought to capture Alarielle for his own. The realm was nearly overwhelmed by the Rotbringers, before the intervention of the forces of Order pushing them back.

Is completely unnecessary, written from in-universe point-of-view and inappropriate. If people want to know the ins and outs of a particular intellectual property, like Warhammer, they can look that up on any dedicated fansite. Not Wikipedia. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 13:36, 23 May 2023 (UTC)

Diablo IV / Judaic mythology character comparison

Hello Soetermans. I see you have reverted my edit drawing attention to the derivation of the name of a hybrid race in the game Diablo IV from that of the biblical Nephilim (= ‘giants’ or ‘Watchers’). What’s with the snarky comment re. comparisons? I was just about to add another one, featuring the link ‘Lilith’ re. the demoness of Judaic mythology, when I noticed your reversion and thought I’d better not until I'd fathomed your reasoning. Would background information re. mythologically-inspired characters in a game not enrich the experience of the players of that game and also be of interest to other readers of Wikipedia? Flobbadob (talk) 22:15, 8 June 2023 (UTC)

Hi Flobbadob, if it came across as snarky it wasn't meant to be. It's just unnecessary and it's not what we do in articles, to point to comparisons with other articles. Video games are loaded with barrowed elements, from history, science, religion, you name it. We don't willy-nilly link to articles that take inspiration from those subjects. Besides, like you said in your edit summary, "Link ‘Nephilim’ re. probable inspiration for naming of game characters", if it's probable it's as much as guessing. It borders on original research or is at best WP:SYNTH. And even if you can find a source, it shouldn't be put in the setting section of Diablo IV, but a better place would be Diablo (series)#Development describing the development of the lore of the Diablo series. Hope this helps. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 05:38, 9 June 2023 (UTC)
Dear Soetermans
Thanks for the explanation. To tell you the truth, it was only the edit of an idle moment, born of having seen a poster advertising Diablo IV on the London Underground: I liked the artwork and wondered whom the striking image of the horned she-devil or sorceress was meant to represent. I’m not a gamer and that was the first edit that I’ve tried to make on a game-related page. Re. ‘Lilith’ and a variant spelling of ‘Nephilim’ - hardly guesswork, despite my charitable use of ‘probable’ - pretty obvious sources of inspiration. What it seems to me to boil down to is that gamers don’t welcome the drawing of attention to their un-acknowledged borrowings and that the complicated Wikipedia guidelines on the bugbear of Original Research can be invoked to justify what a rather clannish ‘we’ do or don’t do - as in ‘WE don't willy-nilly link to articles that take inspiration from those subjects. I beg to differ re. ‘unnecessary’, but I shall agree to disagree and refrain from troubling you with any more ‘unnecessary’ edits. Flobbadob (talk) 10:54, 9 June 2023 (UTC)

How is an Interview video on YouTube (depending what it is) is not a proper source? It is. It's your opinion though. But seriously, why do you think it's not a proper source? When in general, it is. 2601:196:4A01:D770:66E:9721:74BD:EC3B (talk) 20:25, 10 June 2023 (UTC)
Because we need sources, coverage independent of a subject. Let's say Swae Lee says he's, I dunno, the greatest blues guitarist ever in a YouTube video. We won't just change the article because of that, because we don't go on what a subject, Swae Lee in this case, thinks of themselves, but what independent, reliable sources think of him. Goedeavond, Soetermans,
My edit updated the Valorant Esports section and also brought the English up to standard.
(I am an active editor on Liquipedia, a wiki for esports, and the Valorant page is out of date by 6 months, as well as not being consistent)
I do not understand why my edit has been undone and I do not wish to provoke an edit war My edit was in good faith and preserved the existing information.

Hi Apple20674,
For next time, when discussing an article, it's best to use its talk page, but since you've started the discussion here we might as well continue.
I am not sure how you brought "the English up to standard", you undid my edit and removed the better source needed tag (we try not to use primary sources), put the unnecessary subsections back in, undid my merging of the controversy section, the bit about skins... And what you actually did contribute was unsourced. A wiki for esports might have different standards than Wikipedia, but please don't unnecessarily undo another's edits. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 20:47, 26 June 2023 (UTC)
Hey I'm really sorry, I think there's been a bug as I switched between visual and wikitext. I checked my edit and realised as you said that I undid some of your edits. This was not intentional, I only intended to change the eSports subsection.
By bringing up the English, I meant certain mis-usages such as tournament series instead of circuit etc.
Sorry for the misunderstanding, I will change my edit tomorrow morning, not undoing your edits.
I also agree that new sources are needed.
Thanks and sorry again. Apple20674 (talk) 20:54, 26 June 2023 (UTC)
I realised what happened (as I was thinking in the shower), I began editing before you had made your edits and so I was editing an older version, so as I published after you had made your edits, it rolled back to the version that I had started editing on.
My mistake was that maybe I didn't see a warning that the page had been updated but I'm not entirely sure this warning exists.
Sorry again and happy editing. Apple20674 (talk) 10:09, 27 June 2023 (UTC)

Name change for The-Dream

On your edits for the article on The-Dream, I went ahead and undid them as his name was indeed changed per the sources that were behind the articles first sentence. These are validated by his interviews with New York Times and Billboard. Your edit also left an unclosed parentheses so I went ahead and undid it. As you’ve been on this site more than I have, it is in fact your responsibility to closely read the articles sources before you delete any information. Thanks. Hi StreetKnockerzEnt, I should've been more clear with my revert. One Billboard interview that mentions the name is not enough. It's an interview with The-Dream and doesn't mention him changing his name. have you heard of WP:CITOGENESIS? Where sources use Wikipedia, and in turn Wikipedia uses those sources? If there's an actual source that says he legally changed his name or him stating he did, like in a social media post, that would be sufficient. Here you say that "the game is online-only isn't important enough to be mentioned in the very first sentence." So I was wondering why that is the case in your opinion. And here
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Cassiusor&diff=prev&oldid=1166859008
you point to three lengthy articles which I named in my first post to your talkpage which I though might contain this policy snippet. But I couldn't find it there, so I thought you might be able to point me direclty to it.
I'm well aware of the burden stuff, in this case YOU claim that this kinda info isn't important, so kindly prove that this is the case / covered by wiki policy. Finding souces for "online-only" in case of d4 otoh is easy:
https://www.google.com/search?q=d4+online+only
Having to add sources for that is (imo) borderline anal. Just check out other games, there usually isn't a souce for the game type given either. World of Warcraft (WoW) is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) released in 2004 by Blizzard Entertainment. THere, no source. Guild Wars is an online role-playing game franchise developed by ArenaNet and published by NCSOFT. No source either. 165.1.194.41 (talk) 07:57, 25 July 2023 (UTC)

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.

Hi JBW, thanks for reconsidering. I honestly don't know if what Jellocube27 did to book burning was actual well-intentioned editing or not, it was hard to tell. I probably should've tried talking to them some more. Thanks again, and happy editing. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 11:05, 2 August 2023 (UTC)
There are numerous aspects of that editor's history which are questionable, but for some time I was inclined to think that they were probably editing in good faith even if misguidedly. However, this edit looks so much like trolling that it largely took away any assumption of good faith. Then I saw the edit summaries in the edit-war at Book burning, where three times the editor explicitly included the link WP:EDITWAR in edit summaries to edits where they were edit-warring. As far as I am concerned, that, in conjunction with what I had picked up from their other editing, persuaded me that they were trolling there too. I agree with you that it is hard to tell whether their editing at Book burning was well-intentioned or not, but even if it was, I don't believe that they were unaware that they were edit-warring, and posting edit summaries about edit-warring while themselves edit-warring was, in my opinion, trolling. That being so, I regard the manner in which they conducted their editing as effectively vandalism, whether the actual changes to the article were done in good faith or not. JBW (talk) 20:46, 2 August 2023 (UTC)

First, put new discussion on the bottom of a talk page. Second, you can sign your comments by writing ~~~~. Third, consensus is to only mention the main writer of a video game. Video games can have a very large production staff, including many people working on the story. We just mention the head writer or narrative director. Revert reasons

Hey, I've noticed for some time that you often revert other editors without giving a reason. If it's not obvious clear vandalism, an edit summary should always be used to explain why the revert was done. I have debated leaving this message a couple times in the past, but it's coming up as an issue in that ANI thread for Bluthmark. I really recommend you make sure revert reasons are clearly stated, mobile editing or not. Not a warning! Friendly advice. -- ferret (talk) 17:09, 10 August 2023 (UTC)

Hi Ferret, thanks for your message. I've been mulling it over this weekend and I have to say you are right. I have been more curt than I have before. It's no excuse, but with a baby and a making a career switch I have so little free time I rarely edit, and when I do, I find myself not having the patience to deal with unconstructive and/or inexperienced editors, like with Bluthmark. I will heed your words and when I'll revert I will try to be more explaining in the future. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 09:49, 13 August 2023 (UTC)
You reverted my edit on Skullgirls without answering my question on why my source was not considered (by you) reliable, I asked you politely, and you made block the article using a random excuse and accusation that was not even true, why? 151.18.208.38 (talk) 16:35, 13 August 2023 (UTC)
I have said it in my edit summaries: you are unnecessarily adding another reference by some website called "steamAH". For an extensive list of sources considered reliable, see WP:VG/RS. As you can see, "steamAH" isn't listed. Per WP:BURDEN, it's up to you to show why it's needed. You haven't added any text, just the reference. So there is no reason to add it. It looks like you're trying to push the website on the article. Please drop it.
I do not know what do you mean "you made block the article using a random excuse and accusation that was not even true". What have I accused you of? Also, I have no such abilities. As you can see in the history page, Daniel Quinlan was the one who edit protected the article, after Wani requested it because of persistent sockpuppetry. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 17:17, 13 August 2023 (UTC)
Is there something I can say or do that would help you take this more seriously? The actual revert you performed at Call of Duty is fine, but your edit summaries left it completely unexplained. I've explained them for you at the talk page, Talk:Call of Duty. -- ferret (talk) 16:26, 26 November 2023 (UTC)
Hi Ferret, sorry for my late reply. I've been sick the last couple of days. I have taken and still am taking your message seriously. You might see differently, but concerning that edit it was hard to assume good faith. Clearly vandalism? No. Clearly unconstructive? Yes. If you have doubts about my civility, please go through my edits. I have been taking more time to reply, in edit summaries or on talk pages. Emily in Paris Article Edit

Hi Soetermans,

The actor I added to Emily in Paris who appeared as a guest is legitimate. None of the other actors listed in the guest section are cited, so I hope we can find another way to add her name to that section. Looking forward to your response. Wiki-user-1531 (talk) 20:13, 23 August 2023 (UTC)

Hi Wiki-user-1531, not every guest appearance necessarily has to be mentioned. Like I said, WP:IMDB is not a reliable source. That Xhauflaire appeared in one episode does not automatically merit inclusion. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 20:36, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
Hey @Soetermans, thank you for clarifying. I see several guests that are unsourced and only featured in one episode. I can provide other sources for the guest actor I linked. Additionally, the guest was important in helping the female lead, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu prepare for the role. Would you have further objections if I did provide those sources? And maybe incase if you don't know:

Hi Tigerhobbs20, in case you haven't noticed, your edits that use "StatisticsTimes.com" as a source are reverted. It is not a reliable source. Take a look at the about us page. Who is behind the website? Where do they get their information? You have used that website several times, are you affiliated in some way? In case you are, you are using Wikipedia to push the visibility of the website. If not, please, stop using it. I just reverted you again. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 20:30, 6 September 2023 (UTC)
I am not affiliated with this website you make me laugh I only us it because it provides clear data on your second point about how reliable it is if you had looked at the article in question you would find that their article on Bangladesh uses united nations data which I think we can agree is reliable also the reason I keep on using their stuff for my edits is because I think population projections add to the value of an article. Tigerhobbs20 (talk) 16:30, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
Please use punctuation next time. You have proven my point: if StatisticsTimes uses information from the United Nations, there is no need fo use StatisticsTimes, you can use the information from the United Nations. Corporation (game)

Hi - I get that my change adding a mention of psychic powers in the game was vague, but you know what's *more* vague than a vague mention of a thing, is not mentioning the thing at all, which is what a revert makes it. My goal with the edit was to make it possible to find the name of the game while searching for its unique/unusual features, and the quirky "discover it yourself" psychic powers were one of those features (I was unable to find the game by searching, and only managed to eventually get to the Wikipedia page by remembering the game's name in my sleep!). Describing the game as a first-person shooter, for example, is significantly less useful (and more vague!) than mentioning features of the game that *aren't* in common with hundreds of other games. It's also not really accurate, as this game could in fact be played and beaten without shooting at all.

If you think the problem with my addition is it was too vague, why not make it more specific, rather than removing it?

Is it *really* not encyclopedia-tone to describe a feature as unusual? (I wanted to say unique, but I can't be sure there's not another game that did the same thing.)

In a more questioning and asking for help way, is there some legitimate way to do a citation to a part of the manual? Not sure how one would cite "appendix B of this print document" *or* "appendix B of this linked pdf", and I don't even know if I'm right to assume that citing a pdf that probably doesn't have the author's permission to be there is a no-no. I'd be pretty comfortable with just adding "hidden psychic powers" to the existing list of the game's features, would that be acceptable to you? (I'd like it much better if I could cite something about the "hidden" part since that's the unique thing!) 73.107.144.51 (talk) 01:30, 24 October 2023 (UTC)

Hi 73.107.144.51, thanks for starting a discussion. The tone wasn't the real problem, I'd be happy to change it if that was the only issue (see WP:TONE). Video game articles should be written in a more-or-less standard way (see WP:VG/MOS), but Wikipedia, including articles on video games, need reliable sources. And preferably sources not related to a subject. So for a gameplay feature, it's best to use a source independent of the subject, because that shows not only that it's part of the game, but also it's importance - if no reviewer or video game critic picked up on it, it's probably not worth mentioning. There's a curated list of what WikiProject Video Games (see WP:VG) considers to be reliable sources, see WP:VG/RS. Better yet, there's a custom Google search engine that just looks through the sources available online. Maybe there you can find a reliable source that mentions it? If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 18:30, 24 October 2023 (UTC)

Reverting My Edits

My IP address changes automatically, but I assume you are able to recognise it by how similar they are. The changes I make are definitely not "vandalism", I just want consistency in modern video game Wikipedia pages. Me adding "video game" and a link to that Wikipedia page shouldn't be a problem, because I've seen enough examples of that being acceptable, but even if it is unnecessary, my other edits are reasonable and shouldn't be reverted. 2A00:23C6:D584:5B01:A90D:D8A:DA7D:797C (talk) 08:51, 28 October 2023 (UTC)

Soetermans, it's difficult to for me to take any action here, as you requested on one of the IPv6 talk pages, because I don't fully understand why you're reverting this IP's edits. You aren't leaving any edit summaries, and edit summaries should be used for all reverts that aren't obvious bad faith vandalism. I bought this issue up in August as well. What exactly is the issue here? I don't see any vandalism. -- ferret (talk) 18:21, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
I've taken your words to heart and I in all honesty can say I've taken a more patient approach dealing with inexperienced editors since then (with an occasional misclick on the right rollback). With your admin abilities, can you see all their edits? Because I've noticed their edits for some time now. And while most is fine, they've got a - in my eyes at least - very annoying habit of trying to change genre descriptions in the lead (i.e., from first-person shooter to first-person shooter video game). I've tried explaining this, but to no avail. You think it's not an issue? soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 18:58, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
Doesn't require admin eyes to look at IPv6 ranges. Just put /64 on the end of the IP at Special:Contributions. /64 generally represents 1 single household, though some ISPs differ. The rotation of IPs is not intentional by the user and is outside their control. As for the lead issue, I personally don't find a big deal here. Some people think that's redundant but I kinda shrug. The idea that every single reader understands "first-person shooter" to mean "video game", particularly non-native speakers, falls a little flat for me. -- ferret (talk) 19:01, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
I can stop adding "video game" and the link to that Wikipedia page, if that's the only issue, but Soetermans seems to be obsessed with my edits that are obviously not "vandalism". I just want to make these video game pages look better and adding "game" at the very least shouldn't be a problem. 2A00:23C6:D584:5B01:5112:A34F:793B:8C79 (talk) 19:24, 28 October 2023 (UTC)

reverts on Eroge

Hello, it looks like you have been reverting edits on Eroge reinstating material which was previously removed by another user for 'wrong information'. However, this leaves the first paragraph in the history section with a sentence ending in a comma, and without including the removed material, the whole paragraph no longer contains any information about the games' time or place of origin while including information about synonyms for the games and competing systems, which makes the paragraph redundant and currently incoherent. Could you explain why the removed material should not be reinstated, and whether the formatting of the paragraph could be improved? Adamd9NEW (talk) 12:05, 2 November 2023 (UTC)

Since you have been on your talk page recently, would you care to respond? This looks like an overstretch of revert privileges, as the current version of the article is clearly not of reasonable quality, and, willingly or not, your actions have prevented it from becoming reasonable again as it is not possible to readd it without edit warring. The user User talk:JosshnPs who made the edit on the article Eroge has made few edits, many of which have been removed for original research or adding unsourced material; while I understand that the removed content was seemingly unsourced, its validity was not disputed for long after its addition to the article as it remained included, and it may be better to label it as original research or attempt to verify it, instead of roughly deleting it, no? It is scarcely possible to retain the modified paragraph in its current state, and it would best be removed if the deleted material is to remain as such, which I do not believe should be the case; if you wish to cite some policy to explain why this is not the case, please do. Adamd9NEW (talk) 19:57, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
Hi Adamd9NEW! My apologies, I completely forgot to respond, sorry about that! I undid your edit, removing the bit again, because "when Japanese companies introduced their own brands of microcomputer to compete with those of the United States" is unsourced and read sort of clunky, in my opinion. There's nothing about Japanese companies and microcomputers further down, so I don't think it's necessary. I've changed the wording. If you're up for it, there's WikiProject Video Games has a curated list of reliable sources and there's a custom Google search engine. I haven't got the time to properly improve articles, if you feel like helping out, the article could be improved! Request for Clarification on Recent Reversion of Edits to Marvel Snap Wikipedia Page

I wanted to reach out to you regarding the recent reversion of my edits on the Marvel Snap Wikipedia page. I greatly appreciate your commitment to maintaining the quality of Wikipedia content, and I value the collaborative spirit that makes this platform so unique.

I noticed that my edits were reverted for the second time, and I'm eager to ensure that the content aligns with Wikipedia's guidelines and standards. I took into consideration the feedback from the first reversion, which highlighted concerns about "Usage of unreliable sources, overly detailed, and inappropriate tone." In response, I revised my edits to address these issues, making sure to adhere to Wikipedia's policies.

However, this time, the revert was made without providing a specific reason. I understand that everyone has their perspective on what makes content suitable for Wikipedia, and I am open to constructive criticism. To enhance my understanding and facilitate a more collaborative editing process, could you please provide insight into the specific concerns that led to the recent reversion?

Clear communication is essential for fostering a positive editing environment on Wikipedia, and it helps prevent misunderstandings. I believe that a collaborative approach to addressing concerns and improving content can lead to better outcomes for the Wikipedia community.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your feedback, and I'm eager to work together to ensure the Marvel Snap Wikipedia page reflects the high standards of accuracy and neutrality that Wikipedia strives to maintain. Cozy Manager (talk) 18:25, 11 November 2023 (UTC)

Montana and Shocker

They do appear in ATSV, I just never bothered to link their concept arts or link anything in general here Shocker's ATSV design was made by Kris Anka and Montana's by Maurobelfiore Oh, btw Shocker also does appear in ITSV

When I said to look at Marvel Wiki, I forgot to read the recurring part, so please do ignore that (editing on Wikipedia is a pain, so I hoped that someone else would do it for me, which is not needed anymore), also please do ignore the other three characters that I mentioned also

The only who s unconfirmed is Burglar (I don't beleive that it's him) which is why I didn't add him to spider-verse

I hid Miles cuz he is same as Spot and Hammerhead, both so far only recur in Spider-Verse movies

Also do I add Hypno Hustler? Nothing is known about his movie yet apart from Donald Glover playing him Ig its better to not add him and Tombstone (don't even know who is going to playing him) as of now

Hi Swordjetska, welcome to Wikipedia. Please note that we can use the respective talk pages to discuss articles, you don't have to bring issues to editors' talk pages. And don't forget to sign your comments by writing four tildes (like so: ~~~~).

I have no clue what you're talking about. Who are "they"? What is "ATSV"? What concept art? Kris Anka? Maurobelfiore?
Not that it matters, what matters is you add proper sources. And edit summary is for editors to let others know what they've done. With this edit, you left this edit summary:

Please also every character from Kraven (btw there are three variants of him in ATSV and 1 of Chameleon in ATSV and ITSV {same variant}), Madame Web (so far only Julia (and Madame Web (NWH) are confirmed, only other thing confirmed is that there are two other Spider-Woman in the movie), Venom 3 (so far only Venom and Toxin (never appeared anywhere else) are confirmed), El Muerto (So far only El Muerto {getting recast ig} and Tombstone (he is in ITSV)) and Hypno Hustler (He also appeared in ATSV)

That is just unnecessary. We need a reliable source, not a report on characters and possible confirmations. Your account is fairly new, have you taken the time to check out the guidelines? soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 09:36, 12 November 2023 (UTC)

Mabinogi Gameplay edit

Hello Soetermans,

I see you have changed my gameplay edit on the Mabinogi (video game) wikipage. I am very new to editing on Wikipedia and I'm in the process of gaining experience making edits where I can. With my edits to the Mabinogi Video Game page I think you have removed it as it seems like a game guide? That was not my intention, but please let me know or provide resources on how to edit properly. I have read through a lot of the guides on how to be impartial and provide objective facts on topics. I hoped to provide the reader of the page the most basic knowledge with the gameplay without any steering of how the reader should play the game. Rather just provide whatever the game itself would provide, and highlight any differences this game has to other MMOs I could also source primary references to the game's website that does describe the character creation process. Please provide me with some advice and rational for removing my contribution. I would like to be a contributing Wikipedian. Feedback and learning experiences like this will be required.

Thanks,

This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:29, 28 November 2023 (UTC)

Why are you so upset with another editor for such a long time? You remind me of an xkcd cartoon: "someone is wrong on the internet". Regardless, there is also a longer even an indefinite edit protection possible. Your threats aren't exactly intimidating.
And why the message every time? Why not be original, creative at least? The "you are a d0rk and watch p0rns" looks like something a very young person would write, including changing the letter o to the number 0. In your message here, you've changed o to ø. It's not as edgy as you think it is. Imagine being a dork and watching pornography! My heavens! What would the neighbours think?
Lasty, have you tried finding another hobby? A cooking class maybe? Why not go on a long hike for a change. Have you tried meditation? Or masturbation even? Maybe that will help you release some frustration. In the end, you're just wasting your own time. I hope the best for you! Enjoy life! soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 15:03, 14 December 2023 (UTC)
Bans and blocks won’t stop me, after one year I will start again -MySuperBelt85 188.251.247.192 (talk) 21:10, 14 December 2023 (UTC)
Like I said, the edit protection can also become indefinite. Meaning no anonymous IP user can edit TheDeviantPro's talk page. (cc Isabelle Belato, another statement of intent to continue abuse).
The question remains: why? Why are you taking the time to harass a Wikipedia editor? Because they slighted you? You were disruptive half a decade ago and they called you out for it? What are you gaining out of this? What do you think will happen? Here's my prediction: when you post the same message (or maybe think of a new one, you got a whole year to brood on your next abusive message), it'll be reverted as soon as possible. You're not gaining anything whatsoever out of this. If you don't feel like answering me, just be truthful to yourself at least. What is it that makes you want to keep doing these things? You're kind of bothering other people, but you're mostly just getting in your own way. Have you tried talking to a family member or a friend about your feelings and situation? There is also professional help. Don't let the past keep dragging you down. Enjoy a video game. Go watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Better yet, it's almost Christmas, watch Die Hard. Enjoy a Kurzgesagt YouTube video. Open a bottle of whisky. Try baking a cake. Go to a petting zoo. Do something that makes you happy. And try to live life by the golden rule: treat another person how you yourself would like to be treated. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 21:57, 14 December 2023 (UTC)

First of all, @Soetermans won't miss you, I wager. They may have forgotten you by next week. The important thing is, as an agéd editor myself, is that this kind of trolling doesn't work. "...on wheels!" stopped eventually. Entering the word "penis" ended eventually. Revenge stops eventually. Here's the thing; if you only have being angry on the Internet as your lifestyle, then you've no life at all. Life should be about being determined to advance, not obsessed with typing. doktorb wordsdeeds 22:58, 14 December 2023 (UTC)

Tøtes edgÿ! Would you mind stopping? You don't have to reply, you know. Please don't make me go ask for an edit protect of my talk page. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 23:10, 14 December 2023 (UTC)
