File permission problem with File:Olufemi Okenla; Requested Photo; Personal Photos; 50th Birthday Photo Shoot.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Olufemi Okenla; Requested Photo; Personal Photos; 50th Birthday Photo Shoot.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ronhjones  (Talk) 17:00, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Image without license[edit]

Unspecified source/license for File:The Okenlas 0303.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:The Okenlas 0303.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: Once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 15:45, 21 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Page moved[edit]

I've moved User talk:SolaSorinmade to User:SolaSorinmade/sandbox, That'll stop it from continually being disrupted with messages, and is a better place to draft articles. I'm leaving you this note so that you don't think it's just disappeared. If you look at the top of the page, there should be a blue sandbox link that'll take you there. Thanks for uploading File:Olufemi O. Okenla @ 50 PIC.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from or who created it. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Orphaned non-free image File:Olufemi O. Okenla @ 50.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Olufemi O. Okenla @ 50.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:34, 29 November 2018 (UTC) Thank you. The email was already sent by the photographer who signed the photo. I have just forwarded the mail releasing the photo again to permissions. The photo is the sole property of the subject who paid the photographer for their services and retained ownership. Deletion discussion about Olufemi O. Okenla[edit]

Hello, SolaSorinmade,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Hzh and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Olufemi O. Okenla should be deleted. Your comments are welcome over Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Olufemi O. Okenla .

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Hzh}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Hzh (talk) 12:22, 21 January 2019 (UTC) Hello Hzh, thank you for your interest in the article. I noticed that there was a mention about the ownership of the picture of the subject being claimed by me. Well, I'm relatively new to Wikipedia and there are so many policies that are sometimes confusing. The picture was released with permission for use because I contacted the subject to ask for a picture which he, in turn, had contracted a photographer to take -- however the initial photograph released to me had the photographer's signature on it and he has since sent a mail to @permissons to give permission. Also, his only claim to notability as you mentioned isn't about the hotel chain alone, did you read all of the article and were you able to read all the sources both web and print? I'm surprised at all of your claims but everyone is entitled to theirs. How well do you know about Nigeria and newsprint over here? You would only be able to find articles referred to in physical archives -- I know I had to find the physical copies of those in print. Your suggestions on improvement will be very welcome. I'll also search further to find more sources. Sola Sorinmade 00:24, 29 January 2019 (UTC) 00:22, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
