  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers, Pharaoh of the Wizards (talk) 19:53, 24 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reply (refs. template)[edit]

Hi Someone Apex. Thanks for your note. I originally saw a lot of unreferenced names in the Governing body & Board of Management sections of the page, but I now see that they were included "globally", so to speak. I have removed "my" template from the article.

Sorry you were troubled. Regards, Technopat (talk) 08:04, 15 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

To editor Technopat: Its all good, no issues. Someone Apex 21:39, 15 June 2023 (IST)
Notice

The article R. World Institutional Ranking has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence of notability per WP:NORG, all sources are primary.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Someone Apex. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page VIT-AP University, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Muhandes (talk) 12:07, 4 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Muhandes. I am responding to reassure that:
  • I have no external affiliations with either the leadership of VIT Group of Institutions or the management of VIT-AP University.
  • Every edit that I've implemented has been appropriately referenced and is verifiable through multiple online sources.
  • I also want to assure you that I have not received any payment for the contributions I've made to VIT-AP University page.
It's just that I consider myself a perfectionist, always striving to enhance a page with information until it reaches a state of near perfection. This approach guided my editing on Liquipedia, and I am confident it will remain true as I continue to contribute on Wikipedia. Thanks for reaching out. Someone Apex (talk) 12:28, 4 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure what "external affiliation" means. A conflict of interest does not require any relationship with either the leadership of VIT Group of Institutions or the management of VIT-AP University. For instance, being a student (now or in the past) creates such a conflict. If you have no relationship at all with these institutes, why not just say "I have no relationship with VIT-AP University or the VIT Group of Institutions"? Forgive me for not assuming good faith, but all your edits are around one subject, and a ranking section like Special:Permalink/1168562933#Rankings is not something an uninvolved editor would usually write. Muhandes (talk) 18:55, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with you when you say that all your edits are around one subject. I started editing by wikipedia editing journey with VIT AP because it was stub and it really wasn't an important page back when I started editing, so it was a good page for me to get into editing Wikipedia without worrying about messing up a really important page. With that being said in the coming days, I will be focusing on covering and editing a lot more universities and schools (mostly based in India) for eg, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, SRM University, Andhra Pradesh, VIT Bhopal University, Salt Lake School, etc. And lastly, I want to reassure that I am not a student (now or in the past) and I have not received any payment for the contributions I've made to VIT-AP University page. Thank you. Someone Apex (talk) 16:30, 6 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Cool. Personally, I would have taken a subject, such as NIRF rating, and updated all universities. That would have much larger effect than editing a single private university with very little visibility. But, you do you. Have fun editing. Muhandes (talk) 20:53, 6 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

August 2023[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in VIT-AP University, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please see MOS:DOCTOR Muhandes (talk) 12:10, 4 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
