Ivan Brandon[edit]

Hi. I notice that in this edit to Ivan Brandon, you state in the edit summary, "likeness in original photo used without permission." Whose permission were you referring to? The only person whose permission is required for the photo's use is the copyright holder, and as you can see from that photo's page on Wikimedia Commons, that photo, which I took, was uploaded by me with the Attribution 3.0 license, which indeed grants permission for its use. That same permission is also seen on its Wikipedia page. Permission is not required by a subject to use a photo of him that he does not own, especially when it was taken at a public appearance. Please advise. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 07:59, 3 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Ivan-wiki.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Ivan-wiki.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

Hi there- It's my first photo, so I'm not sure how to attribute it, but as soon as I figure that out i'll link it up. In the meantime, here it is http://www.flickr.com/photos/ivanbrandon/4404180984/

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:59, 3 March 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey (talk) 14:59, 3 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

September 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the username you have chosen seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.

There are two issues with this:

  1. You may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization.
  2. Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.

Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guideline to avoid editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you.  7  00:31, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Consensus discussion on photo[edit]

Hi. Since we apparently disagree on which version of the photo would make a better portrait for the article, I've started a consensus discussion here. Nightscream (talk) 03:14, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because your username, Againdemon, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. -- Cirt (talk) 14:42, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
