I don't understand why nothing I put on the John P. Sanders Wikipedia page was saved. I am working with him to update his page and everything was approved by him. Please help me with... I updated a Wikipedia page about a government official. Everything was approved by him, since I am working with him. But now all of it has been deleted by Wikipedia because it didn't follow the guidelines. Do I have to cite a source for everything that is a biography? The short answer to your question is yes, everything in a BLP needs to have a reliable source attached to it. You are welcome to use one source for verification of multiple items (see WP:REFB). To make it clearer, you should declare your conflict of interest WP:COI on your user page, not on your talk page. I have fixed the COI template on your user page, so you are good to edit right now. I suggest you start with using sources that are clearly WP:RS such as CNN, NPR, and Newsweek. Other sources are not so reliable. SunDawntalk 04:47, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
A lot of those are interviews, and one is a letter from him. Sources need to be things written about him, and not prompted by him. Think about the case where someone thought "this person is fascinating; I want to write and publish a well-researched and fact-checked story in the WSJ or NY Times" or wherever.
