Re:Matthew Hussey (also, welcome!)[edit]

Hi!

I do think there are some tone issues, but fully fixing them would probably entail a lot of research and possibly some talk page discussion.

The easiest thing to do, as a new editor, would be to tag the page with one of these:

{{promotional tone}}

{{NPOV language}}

{{npov}}

or similar.

Just be aware that if you add a tag (with the possible exception of copy edit-related ones) you’re expected to explain why on the article’s talk page. It looks like you already did that for this article, but pointing out specific instances of what you think constitutes non-neutral language would help.

factual accuracy is disputed in Jews in Civil Rights[edit]

Hey, can you tell me where there is an error? Is it regarding immigration? Homerethegreat (talk) 11:40, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello.
Are you able to view edit summaries on the page? I left one that answers this question I believe. Here is a link to my revision with the edit summary https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Jews_in_the_civil_rights_movement&oldid=1188564602 Soyembika (talk) 14:37, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Until the 1830s, the Jewish community of Charleston, South Carolina, was the largest in North America. In the late 1800s and the beginning of the 1900s, many Jewish immigrants arrived from Europe. For example, many German Jews arrived in the middle of the 19th century, established clothing stores in towns across the country, formed Reform synagogues, and were active in banking in New York. Immigration of Eastern Yiddish-speaking Ashkenazi Jews, in 1880–1914, brought a new wave of Jewish immigration to New York City, including many who became active in socialism and labor movements, as well as Orthodox and Conservative Jews.

I did not understand which link, I removed the link opening the paragraph since I assume this is what you meant. Homerethegreat (talk) 17:55, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Following me[edit]

You have in your 63 edits followed me already on 3 pages I have created. I have already passed harassment on Wikipedia. I hope you’re doing this out of a good place but your behavior is seriously sort of distressing as someone who has been insulted and harassed on this platform. Wikipedia is a big place and I think you’re efforts don’t have to be constructed around following me so please per WP:Hound / WP:Following try and avoid me. Homerethegreat (talk) 07:35, 21 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please read Wikipedia:Hound. if my edits to the three pages you have created constitute harassment/hounding l, please show which edits. you create MANY pages on here. you have interacted with me MANY times before this. Soyembika (talk) 14:09, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have only created 40+ articles, not 25% of Wikipedia. I interacted with you because you dealt with pages I wrote and therefore I am vigilant to changes in those articles specifically. I feel you’re following me and you’re jumping to topics which I deal with frequently and from what I see from lack of adding content, finding sources that are relevant to the topic or understanding the cultural background it seems to me too much like you’re just following my edits. Whilst some of your edits can help point out issues, in others there were just imprecise, creating extra work or forcing me to engage without you addressing the specifities when I sought to fix whatever was needed. Try and emphasize with me, I already wrote to you above I’ve had many negative experiences on Wikipedia so please try and empathize with me as a fellow human being try and avoid me. Although you’re a new user you seem to be acquainted with many rules, far more than I was at your stage, so well done, but if you’re new to Wiki than please understand that if I write to you that your editing style is somewhat distressing than take heed. I hope you contribute content and add to the richness of our encyclopedia. Homerethegreat (talk) 20:55, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am not following you, hounding you, or causing you distress. I am not forcing you to engage.
Take this to the proper forum if there are issues with my edits. Please show me the things you are talking about. If there are issues with my edits, tell me what the issues are, link them, show me.. Which edits of mine are the issue?
If you want to continue this I ask that you take it to a place that your problem can be addressed properly, by people who can explain to me what about my edits are distressing to you personally.
This might be helpful: Dispute resolution Soyembika (talk) 21:41, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This is not a dispute, this is me, feeling a certain way due to your editing style advising you to review your editing style and the manner with which you conduct yourself. It is your decision in the end what to do with the comment on your style. I am disengaging now. I hope you enjoy contributing and adding knowledge to Wikipedia. Goodbye. Please show me the things you are talking about. If there are issues with my edits, tell me which ones, link them, show me..How is my conduct causing you distress? Soyembika (talk) 20:34, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
