Hatari[edit]

Hi Sparkle. I'm seeking some clarification regarding the edits you made to the Hatari article. Several details, such as the birth dates, were not sourced. A source was adjacent to the fact that Ronja was pregnant, provided with a name, but the source provided did not seem to provide either. Was there a mix-up in the sources? Lordtobi () 19:21, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

ok, I really have to answer you at some point. Thank you really much that you wrote for clarification. The birthdays of Matthías and Klemens are from famous birthdays and that of Einar is from this blog on tumblr. They really do have this Íslendingabók in Iceland so there is a reliable source that could have also been used by famous birthdays but indeed only Icelandic citizens are granted access so I can't check. The information stated on Wikipedia right now was stated by Klemens himself in an interview. Sparkle666 (talk) 17:28, 29 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Famous Birthdays is considered unreliable and blacklisted on Wikipedia, so we cannot use it as a proxy for Íslendingabók, unfortunately. We should look out for an alternative source should one becomes available. Otherwise, if someone from Iceland can access and verify this database, we can still include that as reference per WP:SOURCEACCESS. As for the other content you tried to add, would you be willing to work it out together? Lordtobi () 19:10, 29 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
ok, so I asked that Tumblr account to check on Íslendingabók here. She seems to be Icelandic so that shoud do. I see you've implemented the other changes, well thank you for that. I can only provide you with one more short article that is in English and more openly available, where you have Sólbjört and Ronja talking about their dancing in Hatari on page 40.
Then there's only one more thing I want to ask and it's really just a question. Hatari do a lot of jokes, running-gags and genuine political satire. Like, they don't just do it a little bit but their whole public appearance is in a way based on this. They also call themselves "performance artists" partly because of it. In my mind it would seem appropriate to have that included into the wiki-article. I know one blog-article that covers this topic a bit here and one very young interview article where you can get a glimpse on the sodadream thing and were they also make an entirely new joke about brexit here. That Tumblr also something rather elaborate about one of their Söngvakeppnin postcards and about a fake election campaign in 2017Sparkle666 (talk) 05:18, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I recently got around to watching the documentary with English subs so I could verify some of the information, feel free to make amendments to the statements made. As for the birth dates, we obviously cannot cite the Tumblr blog, but citing Islenskabok should suffice, as long as we can independently verify the dates. Do you still have Einar's (verified) date around? As for their outward appearance, I plan on creating a section "Public image" (or similar) to cover this, including some notable examples. If you find the time to do this, you could also go ahead and add such info, though remember to source it thoroughly. Lordtobi () 17:42, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
