Superhero TV series[edit]

Hi Sparkles32, thanks for your contribution to the list of superhero television series. Although your edits are much appreciated, I want you to consider the use of the correct formatting style. First, the correct dash separating years is (and not -), which you can find listed at the bottom of the text editor in the Wiki markup section. Secondly, when a series is ongoing, use present with a lower case as it has been done in the other entries for the sake of uniformity.

Finally, with regards to the entries themselves, be sure that the series are actually focusing on superheros, maybe by relying on external reliable sources defining the genre. For instance, I am not sure that Sabrina, the Teenage Witch (which is a fantasy drama focusing on magic and witchcraft) or Mortal Kombat: Legacy (based on a fighting video game and focusing on martial arts) could be fairly defined as superhero TV series. --Tanonero (msg) 09:42, 26 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Just realised that a good source for actual superhero shows can be this list at IMDb: list. --Tanonero (msg) 10:10, 26 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Sparkles32 (talk) 23:29, 26 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Agree, thanks for the expansion of the list, but some shows are not related to the superhero genre. If you want to expand the article even more, feel free to add an animated table as well. There are just as many if not more entries to be added on the animated series side, I'm sure. Jmj713 (talk) 02:00, 27 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

To be fair, when it comes to the superhero genre, it depends upon a person's POV. Some may believe one show is superheroic and others may not. However, this is, respectfully not my list, so do as you will. But be aware there's a good chance that others may add to the list what you may or may not see as relevant to the superhero genre. Check out this page- http://www.internationalhero.co.uk/l/livetv.htm Sparkles32 (talk) 22:23, 27 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I understand that it can all come down to personal POVs, that's why I believe we should rely on some external reliable source defining and delimiting the genre. However, so far I haven't had any luck in finding anything like it. --Tanonero (msg) 09:26, 28 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Cite web/news[edit]

Hi Sparkles32, since you are adding many references to the list of superhero TV series, may you please consider adding them by using either the Cite web or the Cite news templates? These templates would add consistency to the reference section (as well as make it nicer). Thanks. --Tanonero (msg) 23:29, 23 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'll keep it in mind for the future. I'm sorry for any inconveniences. I'm fairly new here and I've still got a lot to learn; therefore, this might take me awhile to figure out. Thank you and God bless!Sparkles32 (talk) 23:44, 23 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Feel free to ask me whatever question you may have. Regards, --Tanonero (msg) 14:14, 24 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for May 8[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of superhero television series, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page The Toxic Avenger. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Superhero TV and films[edit]

I just wanted to say you've been doing a great job working on the superhero television series list, and I was wondering if you wanted to also add your efforts to the superhero films list. Right now it's at List of American superhero films, and so it focuses only on superhero films from the US. It really should cover all superhero films produced internationally, and moved back to List of superhero films. Since you appear very passionate and knowledgeable on the subject, I hope you can see to it. Thanks and keep up the great work! Jmj713 (talk) 03:03, 18 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Jmj713, first I would like to say thank you for your kind words. It hasn't been easy finding proper sources for that list, especially with past naysayings. There are a lot more shows that I think would be good for the list, but unfortunately I haven't found any proper sources. However, you're too kind saying that I'm very passionate and knowledgeable on the subject. My interest in superhero shows is strictly a hobby, but I truly appreciate the sentiment. As for the film list, I make no promises or commitments, but I'll look into it when I can. Thanks and God bless!!!Sparkles32 (talk) 16:20, 18 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi just remembered this conversation and was wondering what you thought about converting List of American superhero films into a better list of all superhero movies. Jmj713 (talk) 21:01, 1 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I don't know if I should mess with that list. That could bring in some arguments that I'd rather avoid. If someone started another list that has superhero movies in general, I might participate, but I don't have the time now. Plus, there's independent reliable sources to consider. I'm sorry. God bless!!!Sparkles32 (talk) 02:13, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Mod Squad[edit]

May I want to edit the List of superhero television series page! Get Smart first aired before The Green Hornet, The Mod Squad first aired before The Champions, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. first aired after Doctor Who, Holmes & Yoyo came before Charlie's Angels, The Girl from U.N.C.L.E. came before both Captain Nice and Mr. Terrific, Get Smart (1995) came after M.A.N.T.I.S., Three's Company came before Jason of Star Command and Fringe came before The Middleman. --2601:C8:C001:9AF0:DC63:AD6D:A65D:3963 (talk) 00:26, 3 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

2601:C8:C001:9AF0:DC63:AD6D:A65D:3963 (talk) Hey. You don't need my permission to edit the page. However, you need to cite the entries with independent reliable sources verifying if the series is a superhero series or if one or more of the main characters is a superhero; otherwise, the entries will be removed. As for what aired before what, I'm not sure it's an issue as long as they're in the same year. Just out of curiosity, how is Three's Company a superhero show?

Superhero films based on TV shows[edit]

May I want to add all superhero films based on TV shows. --2601:C8:C001:9AF0:CCD6:DAB0:1BBC:4F4A (talk) 02:44, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you mean on the list of superhero television series, then no, it's not a good idea. It's a list for television shows, not movies. There's a list of superhero films you can post on, but remember to add independent reliable sources before posting.Sparkles32 (talk) 03:31, 9 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

List of Gunsmoke television episodes[edit]

I want to edit the List of Gunsmoke television episodes#Nielsen ratings page. The mistakes you should be corrected is It Takes a Thief and The Magician, not The Robert Wagner Show and The Bill Bixby Show, respectively. --2601:C8:C001:9AF0:B4B4:321B:CF10:C1CE (talk) 02:55, 10 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Seven Days[edit]

Why do you consider Promised Land, Brimstone and Seven Days superhero shows? Two Star Trek shows (Voyager and Enterprise) are part of the Star Trek franchise. --173.125.105.151 (talk) 14:08, 7 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I've never seen "Promised Land" so I don't know where you got that idea. I haven't seen enough of "Seven Days." As for "Brimstone," I've seen it was in a couple of superhero websites, but no independent reliable sources verifying it's a superhero show. The reason I didn't put the entire "Star Trek" franchise shows on the list was because I have yet to find sources verifying they're all superhero shows, just a few. It's not a matter of opinion, it's a matter of sources. Read the talk page of the List of Superhero TV Series discussing sources. Also, that wasn't me who posted those new unsourced entries. That was an anonymous IP.Sparkles32 (talk) 17:26, 7 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

That actually make sense[edit]

Yeah, that's true what you said. to be honest I thought the same thing what you said about Superheroes and supervillains not about costumes and its more about the attitude. I always thought adding them too before because they have superpowers, superhuman strength and magic although I know Harry Potter isn't a superhero. But i always thought underworld, the matrix and terminator are pretty much Superheroes. I know Underworld because of the main character is inspired by an x men Mutant with the same name and is also a comparison to blade. I also checked on imdb for spies in disguise one of the plot keywords said "superhero" on it, it's totally up to you if you want to add it back. I almost thought Rambo is a superhero because in an interview with actress Adriana Barraza she said "Rambo is a really good superhero" but I don't know if he is because I'm not too sure if he has that kind of attitude but you're right about that it's their attitude. Sorry about that 67.225.39.87 (talk) 18:50, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It's quite all right. I understand. I appreciate your apology. I'll have to think about Spies In Disguise and look up Rambo, but maybe later in the week. However, if you feel strongly about Rambo being part of the list, go right ahead! Just make sure you cite the entries with an independent reliable source or sources either saying the Rambo is a superhero or the films are superhero movies; otherwise, someone else might remove them. Take care and God bless!!!Sparkles32 (talk) 22:04, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
