NWA Seattle-Beijing

Hey Spikydan! Do we need to list Beijing as a destination for NWA on the SEA and PEK page? Me and User:Qzd800 are haveing an issue on whether or not if this route has been cancelled or postponed to 2010. Cause I have emailed NWA and they said that they are not planning on readding that route any time in the near future. But I was wondering if it should be listed as "begins 2010" or as "route postponed"? Thanks! Cashier freak (talk) 04:18, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the tip. I think all the US-China nonstops to be flown by Chinese airliners were removed by User:Thenoflyzone. I think the delivery of the new 787 has been delayed and they couldn't obtain it. I think March 25, 2010 is the tentative start date for the route but we'll see if they will fly it. Please take a look at my talk page, if you haven't done so, to see a rather large essay User:Redstoneranger (via User:66.244.68.18) wrote about himself. He seems to want to take complete ownership of at least the History section of the CO article. Regardless of whether he's telling the truth or not, it's bad when an editor tries to take such ownership and exerts that his personal experience in 'real life' outweighs anyone else's capability of editing. Dear spikydan... Thanks for your reasonable and conciliatory comments re: the actions of user NcSchu on materials whidch I <redstoneranger> have added to the Continental Airlines page. Let me be perfectly clear: 1. I understand PERFECTLY both the philosophy and use concepts of Wikipedia. I do not now, nor have I ever claimed "ownership" of the HISTORY section of the article. 2. HOWEVER, if you CAREFULLY read the comments I posted for the benefit of NcSchu, you ought to be able to understand that I am a "living history" of this airline. To cite only a few examples: I was IN THE ROOM when Bob Six inked the contracts with Boeing for the 707 and 747 aircraft (and rode both the proving runs and the inaugural flights); I was instrumental in the introduction of every aircraft CAL put into service between 1955 and 1980 (beginning with the DC7B); I logged more flying miles on Continental aircraft than ANY Continental employee (including flight deck crews) between 196-0 and 1980; In my possession is the largest archive of CAL historical material in existence, FAR exceeding that which the company itself maintains in Houston (which is actually quite sparse). ALL OF THIS to indicate one thing: My credentials on the subject of HISTORY are unique, and insuperable. 3. I do not approve of the arbitrary removal of photographs (provided by me) which are indispensable to the explanation of the authentic history of Continental Airlines (especially of the Boeing 727, the company's most important type over the course of its history; and aerial view of Denver-Stapleton, which formed the basis of wealth formation for Continental which has allowed it to thrive in the post-deregulation airline world); HOWEVER, I will not, out of pique, remove images already given: I will simply not add further images until this matter is resolved. 4. As a BA, MA, and PhD (after retirement!) in history, I think you will probably agree that I know how to present the subject (particularly one with which I am so uniquely and intimately familiar). It is also worth stating here that I operated, on the side, a marketing consultancy which has advised many magazines and other publications of the subject of LAYOUT, so I know a thing or two about optimal layout for visual impact (clients have included: LOOK, Sunset, Southern Living, etc.).

I have no personal animas toward user NcSchu, but rather must, in the circumstances, sniff at his/her impertinence. I suppose it sounds cocky, but this is a subject I shall always know more about than anyone else who still draws breath...

Hey Spikydan1! I need your help on Raleigh-Durham International Airport. I saw the format for Northwest Airlines was changed to the "Delta Air Lines operated by Northwest Airlines". I changed it back to Northwest Airlines since NW flights are not Delta flights but it was changed back to the DL operated by NWA designated. NW SEA-PEK (update)

One IP removed Beijing from the list of destinations fo NWA for SEA. Saying that the route will be shelved. The reference for that page does not work and I was wondering if NW/DL will still fly that route. If you can find a updated source, plese add it to the article. Thanks! For isteele00

The first thing that tips me off to the fact that the image is copyrighted is the fact that it says it is copyrighted right on the image and it has been taken from airliners.net. The other fact is that the same exact image has already been removed several times because of copyright violations. The Boeing 777 article is rated as a good class article and there should be no questions about an image's copyright....Even if it takes extra time to make sure, when in dought...leave it out.
Even if you got permission from the person that edited the image, a different person took the image...Those things are not really made clear in the image description. Spikydan1 (talk) 14:59, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

American Airlines LaGuardia hub

Hi Spikydan! I need your help with something. One IP (not me) continues to add LGA as a hub for American Airlines. AA announced major restructuring of their networks and shifted hub/focus cities. However, it mentions in the ref that New York is a hub for AA but it did not state whether it was LGA or JFK. I have started a discussion at the American Airlines talk page to settle this. Newark Liberty International Airport Terminal A rename

  • While the aircraft did break up and will likey be written off... I have not found anywhere that says the aircraft has been written off and until it is officaly wirtten off, it is still part of the AA fleet. Spikydan1 (talk) 18:47, 23 December 2009 (UTC)

American Airlines SJU hub

By looking at the AA infobox, San Juan is now a focus city and no longer a hub. Is this correct? AA's SJU flight capacity was cut down 50% and I am not sure if AA did dehubbed San Juan or they stil consider it their hub. Thanks! Cashier freak (talk)

Continental Flight 1883

Hey. Just to let you know that I check thru CO schedules/timetables and Flight 1883 is no longer routed MCO-EWR. It is now routed STT-EWR. So, I changed it to past tense (Flight 1883 is still used by CO but not for MCO-EWR). Thanks! Snoozlepet (talk) 19:16, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

FYI: Since your edit here removed all of the relevant information, you really should remove the reference as well, since that's specifically what that references was added for. I'm a bit saddened that you thought that what I added could just be thrown away, but I guess that I just don't care enough to actually contest the edit. I'm commenting here though simply because I feel that there shouldn't be references which don't directly support/add anything to the content.

The only real point I was trying to get across above was that the reference that I added with the content, which you've since removed, should be removed now that the content is no longer there. The reference is currently #21, with the title "Why he did it: Motive behind airport breach is revealed", from The Star-Ledger. Since the content was removed that reference is now just a non-sequitur, and since you're the one who edited the content I thought that you'd want to clean up after yourself is all.

I don't know if something like this is encyclopedic because it is not final approval...

In February 2010, the USDOT granted AA preliminary antitrust immunity to allow the airline to work with British Airways, Iberia Airlines, Finnair and Royal Jordanian Airlines on transatlantic routes.

Hi Spikydan, now I have included a full list of scheduled cargo airlines and destinations to the article. I guess you reverted my first edit because there had been only one entry. Otherwise your "cargo destinations are not listed" is not correct, as there is no consensus on this matter, which is also discussed here and here.
