The Noob article

Hello there and welcome. I thought you should know that the reason I reverted your edit was because of the discussion on it's talk page which other editors decided to have it as a redirect to Newbie. Maybe bring up the changes on it's talkpage before reverting my edit, so that other editors can decide if Noob needs its own article or if it needs to be merged instead as the terms are fairly similar. Leave a message on my talkpage if you have any questions. Happy Editing! :D AngelOfSadness talk 00:10, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

That is true that they are different. But then again they are very similar. Maybe a small section in the article should define the differences between the meanings of noob and newbie. AngelOfSadness talk 00:20, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
By the by, adding the semi-protected template to the article doesn't protect the page. You have to be an admin to protect the page(they have special tools that we don't have unfortunately). The page can only get protected if their has been unspeakable amounts of vandalism and edit wars over it. AngelOfSadness talk 00:29, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

Newbie

OK, I'm talking to you. I would like to delete the section you added because it is confused and contains poor grammar and syntax. It is far below Wikipedia standards. Please fix it promptly or ask for help. -- Rob C. alias Alarob 17:02, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Misplaced template

The Controversial-issues template is intended for the talk page not the main article space and the templates you have added have been removed by other users, also the placement of infoboxes in close proximity of each other (as happened with your edit to Wikipedia) can create a conflict between the boxes over space which can result in bitty broken up layout and an excess of whitespace. These edits have the appearance of vandalism and disruption even if this is not intended, an idea of how the page will look with your edits included can be achieved with the preview option before saving a change. Also there may be concerns with an article that you have created Azuradisc‎ which at present may be taken as an advert for the services provided by a commercial company. Templates on Britney Spears

Thanks for contributing to Britney Spears, although I have removed the templates that you have placed in the article because of the following reasons:

  • This article has recently passed GA about a week ago. This clearly proves that it is neutral, proves that the references are well written (without the need for a clean up), and non of the contents are a hoax.
  • This article was peer reviewed very recently. And non of the reviewers said the article has POV issues.

Hence I have removed those templates placed by you. Thanks. Oidia (talk) 02:49, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Copyright problems

Hello. Concerning your contribution, Greek Golden Age, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material without the permission of the author. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.ahistoryofgreece.com/goldenage.htm. As a copyright violation, Greek Golden Age appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Greek Golden Age has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message. For text material, please consider rewriting the content and citing the source, provided that it is credible.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Greek Golden Age and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Greek Golden Age with a link to where we can find that note.
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Greek Golden Age.

However, for text content, you may want to consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you, and please feel free to continue contributing to Wikipedia. KTo288 19:46, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

István Hatvani

Unfortunately your edits to István Hatvani have been reverted because of violation of the copyright of the web source you found against the express wishes of the copyright holder. You are to be congratulated on having found a great source on the topic in question, and no doubt that source can be used to expand the Istvan Hatvani article however copying and pasting in toto the work of others is not the way to do this. I am sure this was an honest attempt to contribute to Wikipedia, however just adding the source you found as an external link would have been a good and valid contribution, there is no need to think that you need to make large and flashy additions to be contributing meaningfully. KTo288 09:02, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Playable Stages

The answer to your question would be in the FAQ that goes along with Brawl's talk page, specifically the "Dojo Updates" question about three-fourths down the page. There's also an abundant amount of hidden/commented messages in the text of the main article itself asking people not to make changes related to adding lists, as well as archived talk page discussions (a rather insane number of them, as this topic tended to come up often) about it too. What it all boils down to, though, is that adding full lists of characters, stages, items, and so on will make that article gigantic in size, and articles about video games are only supposed to be limited synopses anyways. Arrowned 20:44, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

By the way, I did notice as I reverted your edit that it was formatted in a way that I suppose could work in the article; our main problem is direct lists. However, many other editors feel the same way I do about this kind of thing, so you may get more support for this idea if you bring it up on the talk page first. Arrowned 21:01, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

Hello. I have redirected your article, Super Smash Brothers: playable stages, back to its parent article, Super Smash Bros. Brawl. A list of stages, as I mentioned on Brawl's discussion page, is unencyclopedic listcruft/fancruft that has no viable secondary sources and cannot hold its own as an encyclopedia article. You also failed to gather appropriate consensus on that talk page; contrarily, everyone who responded on that topic disagreed with your proposition. Please do not create pages which do not satisfy conditions of consensus, especially if they do not abide by Wikipedia guidelines and policies. Regards, You Can't See Me! 23:52, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Actually, almost everyone agreed that a list of stages is unencyclopedic; you failed to garner a consensus. — Malcolm (talk) 23:56, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Yes, as a matter of fact, I do believe that the Bosses in The Legend of Zelda series is extremely unencyclopedic. If I edited Legend-of-Zelda articles more frequently, I probably would nominate it for deletion, or at the very least, transwikiing or merging. Also, the fact that you put a lot of effort into writing an article is by no means a valid argument for keeping it. You Can't See Me! 00:03, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
Cease reverting my redirect. I and multiple users have explained to you why this is not a viable article. If you don't want to listen, that's your choice, but do not violate wikipolicy by ignoring consensus. You Can't See Me! 00:15, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Please read the welcome before you do anything else

... to ensure that you have fewer run-ins with people who try to revert you. Read the pages it links to, especially the Introduction and the Five Pillars of Wikipedia, if nothing else.

Hello, Can you tell me why your changed the "jog" page to a re-direct as opposed to a disambiguation page? As far as I can see there is an ambiguity. In sailing circles JOG would mean Junior Offshore Group to most people.

Cheers! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Martin Dixon (talkcontribs) 09:00, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

2007 Michigan budget crisis

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article 2007 Michigan budget crisis, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of 2007 Michigan budget crisis. Speedy deletion of Nintendo Nsider Forums

A tag has been placed on Nintendo Nsider Forums requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Thingg 23:21, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

It is a valid terminology of a process used in said game "Spore" and is just as reasonable an article as the 1up article.

Spitfire (talk) 03:31, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

Other stuff exists is not a reason for keeping an article (and i'd also say that 1up is hardly related to this). Could I please request that you do not remove the template (even though you are able to) without reading WP:NEO? I'd rather not have to set up an AfD for it, as it clearly does state that neologisms do need to be cited by multiple third party reliable sources in order to be considered notable. Thanks, Matty - (Talk) 03:36, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
reference/citation added Spitfire (talk) 03:59, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
The idea of citing a neologism is to prove that it has been used my say, the Media or multiple other unrelated places (i.e. nothing to do with the game itself). Matty - (Talk) 06:28, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
Unrelated? It was the Official Trailer from Spore's Official Youtube Channel!
The point is that the article must prove that the word is not just used in the game, but by many other people who have heard it to describe things. Imagine how many articles there would be if anyone could just make up a word and it would be considered appropriate to be in Wikipedia. Matty - (Talk) 23:07, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

Redirect

Anyone can redirect articles. If want to undo the redirect be my guest, but be prepared to show evidence that it is a notable term which has received coverage, as I'll nominate it for deletion. All you've provided is a single use in a promotional trailer absolutely nothing else, this doesn't remotely provide any evidence that this term warrants its own article.--Crossmr (talk) 01:52, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

Attack

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on this page, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because the article is a page created primarily to disparage its subject or a biography of a living person that is controversial in tone and unsourced, where there is no neutral point of view version in the history to revert to. (CSD G10).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting the article, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate the article itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. CSDWarnBot (talk) 02:21, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

Removing the TFD tag like you did in this edit is not the correct way to deal with a nomination to delete a template. Regarding your reverting of my edits. I'm cleaning up the Invader Zim articles as part of a larger cleanup of the Invader Zim topic. Contrary to your edit summary, I didn't outright remove the character information. I reduced and summarised it as it was basically just repeating what was already written in depth in the List of characters article. I did however remove the Signature elements section because it was unsourced and I couldn't find any sources to help support this commentary (making it original research). There's no requirement for a period of time to find sources as unsourced information can be removed on sight per WP:V. The page has been tagged for cleanup a long time and has been in need of a rewrite for a while too. Bill (talk|contribs) 18:36, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

Well I guess since you are the lead contributor to Invader Zim I might as well give the go ahead.

Thanks for uploading File:Bionic contacts.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.

A tag has been placed on Wikipedia:Village pump (redundant policies), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Wikipedia:Village pump (redundant policies)|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. I've started a discussion to address your recent actions at WP:ANI#WP:POINT - Creation of new Village pumps page - "Redundant policies". You are welcome to comment. Thanks. Equazcion /C 04:34, 3 Mar 2009 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Village pump (redundant policies), a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:Village pump (redundant policies) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Wikipedia:Village pump (redundant policies) during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Nintendo task force membership update

I am currently gauging the active membership of the Nintendo task force. I have split the members list into an "active list" and an "inactive list" and have moved all members (except myself) to the "inactive list". To confirm that you're still an active participant in the task force, please go to the membership list at WP:NIN and simply move your name from the "inactive list" back onto the "active list". If you no longer wish to be a member, simply remove your name from the list. After two weeks (around 23 March 2009), I will remove all names on the inactive list. Thank you, and hope you're still interested, MuZemike 20:32, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Computational Knowledge Engine requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Nintendo task force membership update

It's that time again to update membership status with the Nintendo task force, which we try to do every 3-4 months to keep our membership up-to-date.

All participants have been placed on an "Inactive participants" list. To confirm that you're still a member of the Nintendo task force, simply go to Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Nintendo#Members and move your name from the "Inactive participants" list to the bottom of the "Active participants" list. If you are no longer an active member in the task force, you may simply remove your name altogether. After 1 month, on October 1, all entries under the "Inactive participants" list will be removed. Hopefully you can stay with us and continue to work on Nintendo-related articles. Regards, MuZemike 18:00, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:SolarisOS.jpg

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:SolarisOS.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 08:52, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Beth Nolan.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Beth Nolan.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. dave pape (talk) 15:50, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

Hi -- you've added a neutrality tag without starting a corresponding discussion on the talk page. I can guess why you've added the tag, but I think it is highly unlikely that any of the people trying to remove sourced information from that page are going to contribute to a talk page discussion, let alone start one. {{helpme}} Difference between XfD and PROD. Spitfire19 (Talk) 18:56, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

Proposed deletion
An editor who believes a page obviously and uncontroversially doesn't belong in an encyclopedia can propose its deletion. Such a page can be deleted by any administrator if, after seven days, no one objects to the proposed deletion. Once there is an objection or a deletion discussion, a page may not be proposed for deletion again. This process only applies to pages in the main namespace (article namespace). Redirects are not eligible for proposed deletion.
Deletion discussion
Pages that do not fall in the {{prod}} category may be deleted after community discussion at one of the deletion discussions, the results of which may be reviewed after the fact at deletion review. This includes contested speedy or proposed deletions. Here, editors who wish to participate can give their opinion on what should be done with the page.
These processes are not decided through a head count, so participants are encouraged to explain their opinion and refer to policy. The discussion lasts at least seven full days; afterwards, pages are deleted by an administrator if there is consensus to do so.
The deletion of a page based on a deletion discussion should only be done when there is consensus to do so. Therefore, if there is no rough consensus the page is kept and is again subject to normal editing, merging or redirecting as appropriate. Discussions concerning biographical articles of relatively unknown, non-public figures, where the subject has requested deletion and there is no rough consensus may be closed as delete.
A nomination that gets little response after the discussion period has ended can be relisted if the closing editor believes that more time would be likely to generate a clearer consensus.
Hope that helps. :) Avicennasis @ 19:07, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

Bangladesh Liberation War

I didn't have time to look at the discussion, but some of your recent edits actually introduced redundancies or inaccuracies. For example, "Mukti Bahini" can at best be referred to as "Mukti Bahini (Liberation Army)", but calling it "Mukti Bahini Liberation Army" is similar to calling "Viet Cong" as "Viet Cong National Liberation Front". i.e completely redundant and incorrect.

I will go through the other proposals in the talk page. Please allow a day for that. --Ragib (talk) 03:54, 30 April 2010 (UTC)

What you're seeing on Economic history of China (pre-1911) is a content dispute manifesting itself as an edit war rather than vandalism. Nev1 (talk) 23:18, 30 April 2010 (UTC)

Since User:Tosses is removing sourced material without much explanation (besides that the "economist" cannot be trusted), it can to some extent be characterized as vandalism. Since I have been warned by Nev1, I will disengage myself from this article. However, I hope an admin or other figure can be contacted to resolve this dispute. Also note the same user is engaged in a dispute on the article Jews. Teeninvestor (talk) 23:32, 30 April 2010 (UTC)

Archiving

Hi,

I've set up this page for auto-archiving, as discussed.

Normally, I prefer to explain how to do stuff, but in the case of archive set-up, it's easier to just do it for you. The voodoo to make it work is here; the bot should come along within about a day and kick things off. Note the archive box at the top which, currently, will say "no archives yet (create)" - don't create anything, just let the bot do its thing.

It's set to 30 days (30d), you might want to change that. Note that a) it won't archive very small threads or things with no sigs in (ie no date) - you can cut those yourself and paste 'em into the archive page if you want.

So - that's about it; no action required, just let the bot do its thing, and - if I've done it correctly - all should be well. If it goes wrong, of course, give me a shout. Cheers!  Chzz  ►  17:55, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

Can you leave a message on Rodhull's page (as I can't edit it) that claiming I had inflicted vandalism on that page is offensive. I'd like an apology. It was blatantly good faith. I would recommend starting a section in Talk:Lee Harvey Oswald about this edit conflict Do that I'll message him for you alerting the section exists, ok. Spitfire19 (Talk) 00:53, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

The Game (U.S. TV series)

Just to let you know this revert you made was correct. While not blatant vandalism, these edits aren't all that constructive and are basically unhelpful to the article. Long story short, the IP is just reverting to their preferred version of the article, poorly sourced/written content and all. I've taken the liberty of reverting back to your original revert :) Pinkadelica 03:35, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

Clam Chowder "vandalism"

Hi Spitfire19,

I do appreciate that you are looking at pages to prevent "vandalism" but I assure you, if you were ever to actually read the information and history on clam chowder, specifically NEW ENGLAND clam chowder, which is the original, it is made WITHOUT potatoes. Only imitations are made with potatoes/clam chowders of lesser quality. This is added because potatoes are cheap. The crackers are the original thickeners. I will be changing it back. Please do some research on the history of chowder if for some reason you still believe this is incorrect. As a clam chowder/seafood chowder aficionado, I assure you the chowder is TRADITIONALLY made without potatoes. Other types of chowder however, may have potatoes in them traditionally, but not clam chowder.

Best,

Courtesy headsup

Courtesy note to let you know I removed the speedy tag from the Chuck article you tagged. You tagged it as a speedy delete for "so obvious a hoax as to be vandalism". I can only assume that's an accidental error on your part given that the page is an accurate description of the episode, if one that sorely needs cleanup and formatting into the normal episode format. Probably needs a wikify or cleanup tag, but speedy-delete wouldn't be correct. WCityMike 00:20, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but with so many of the important people involved in the film not on Wikipedia I'm going to have to agree with the deletion. Spitfire19 (Talk) 02:21, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

So you are saying redirect is not an option? What makes a film notable “lots of money”? I am curious.

--Sholun (talk) 02:42, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

If you want me to redirect them, sure. I just need to know where to. But that doesn't mean that someone won't still try to delete it. And yes, sadly money does tend to make stuff more notable. Real life's a bitch. Spitfire19 (Talk) 02:46, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for being honest and helpful I do appreciate your time. You are probably right they will just tag it for deletion even if I re direct it, so I will let it alone for now. How long does it take them to make a decision?

Both Lost on mars and Empire of Danger are archived in the Mars society library as movies about Mars. The Mars society is already listed on Wikipedia, so I was wondering if there was still a way to redirect them as a movie about Mars to keep it safe from deletion. I have no idea if this would work and how to do this, or if it’s even a good idea. Any feedback is welcomed. You removed a properly sourced statement, apparently because it refers to a news article that contains a link to a MediaFire page from which files can be downloaded, stating that "Files may contain viruses". However, the files that can be downloaded from that page contain no executables, only Javascript scripts invoked from HTML code and executed by your browser, exactly the same as when you visited the Google home page the past weekend. In other words, they are in no way more risky than clicking any link on a web page.  --Lambiam 19:58, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

I see that you've put it in the External Links section. I'm fine with that. Spitfire19 (Talk) 22:32, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

I saw your reversion. This page has been created by a newbie and speedy deleted for WP:A7 three times. When it was recreated a fourth time I AfD–nominated it and asked for salt. The user (whose first language is not English, I strongly suspect) finally saw the light and made an effort to userfy the page, but did it by cut and paste rather than moving the page and didn't go back and remove the mainspace article. Since it appeared to me that he was trying to do right, I told him if he'd go back and blank the page and propose it for WP:R2 deletion, i.e. finish the userfication and take it out of mainspace, I would withdraw the AfD. He made that attempt, but you reverted it, not knowing what was going on in the background (and his edit summary not being very helpful). I've now reverted your revert, so the userfication can be completed. I hope that's okay with you, too. Best regards, TRANSPORTERMAN (TALK) 13:42, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

Understands, thanks for the fix-up. Spitfire19 (Talk) 13:51, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

Categories

Hello Spitfire, I noticed you added Category:University-stub to the article in the diff. It is actually contained in the template {{University-stub}}. Just letting you know (doesn't HotCat warn you, though?). Nice to meet you, Airplaneman 19:34, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing that up. Spitfire19 (Talk) 21:12, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

Hi - I noticed that you left a message on my talk page about deleting the FirstMark Capital article. I want to make sure you acted properly in this speedy deletion. First of all, as best I can remember, I created a redirect to Pequot Capital Management not an article abotu First Mark. The firm was a spinout from Pequot and is a fairly notable venture capital firm on its own. However, it is not clear to me that you actually notified the user that had attempted to create an article. Given that the article was removed so quickly, the contributing editor should at least have an opportunity to contest your speedy deletion. I cannot tell if that ever happened. I am not sure what content was included in the article but I would think there is the potential to create a real article there. |► ϋrбanяeneωaℓTALK ◄| 17:18, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

The article that was written was purely spam, I had not know that it was originally a redirect. But at the time it seemed otherwise and I speedied it appropriately. You could recreate the redirect if you'd like. Spitfire19 T/C 18:21, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for the advice, will be noted.

Speedy deletion of Noni Spitz

I see that you tagged Noni Spitz for speedy deletion under CSD G7 (the author of the only substantial content has requested deletion). However, I can't find where the author requested deletion. Perhaps you can re-tag it, stating in an edit summary where the request has been made. Or did you perhaps mean A7? JamesBWatson (talk) 10:49, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

Question on your talk murray rothbard edit

YOu made an edit with summary: "(→Edit request from LordBurleigh, 8 November 2010: : Not done: please be more specific about what needs to be changed.CarolMooreDC (talk) 05:41, 8 November 2010 (UTC)) (undo) ". I don't understand what you did in Murray Rothbard talk or why it deleted my response. CarolMooreDC (talk) 05:41, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, When I was previewing the edit it was not rendering properly so I simply went with what I could manage. Spitfire19 T/C 05:46, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
I just removed the whole thread and left him a note asking him to correct html so don't have that problem again. Or just register properly, if that's the problem. CarolMooreDC (talk) 00:54, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Slaughters Rip-Off

FYI, I did just speedy delete Slaughters Rip-Off, but not under criterion A3. Because the original editor blanked the page, and no other editor had contributed text to the page (all I did was tag it), it was deletable under criterion G7, single author blanking page or requesting deletion. —C.Fred (talk) 01:03, 16 February 2011 (UTC)

Breaka Shaka

Hey there; I've declined your CSD of Breaka Shaka - it is an album, not a person. Ironholds (talk) 20:18, 16 February 2011 (UTC)

Whatever, I removed the warning for now. But replacing content without a summary is grounds for other editors to revert and warn you. Spitfire19 T/C 19:07, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Maija Kovalevska

Hello Spitfire19. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Maija Kovalevska, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The article makes a credible assertion of importance or significance, sufficient to pass A7. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 19:42, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

Hello, Spitfire19. You have new messages at Firepower Canada's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

I was trying to have someone Userfie a deleted page and then work on it for a while. I need some more understanding on the issues for Notability in support of the first real article I was trying to author.

Speedy deletion declined: Lololololol

Hello Spitfire19. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Lololololol, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: R3 speedy has already been declined once - this is neither recent nor implausible. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 16:14, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

Custom.css

This help request has been answered. If you need more help, please place a new {{help me}} request on this page followed by your questions, or contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page.

I want to edit my common.css file to back the background color black and the text color #666666, for some reason the current settings do not work. Spitfire19 T/C 02:37, 17 February 2012 (UTC)

This code isn't perfect, but any CSS hacked on top of another skin won't be. This gets you in the ballpark at least:
* {
    background-color: black !important;
    color: #666666 !important;
}

Injustice: Gods Among Us

In reference to the revision on that page that you reverted, it was incorrect. The character is refered to as "Shazam" in the game, and that is how he is being refered to in the article. 85.210.190.45 (talk) 09:12, 22 March 2013 (UTC)
