Conflict of interest[edit]

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Krikorian[edit]

Thanks for the message. Has the image been uploaded to Wikipedia? I cannot find any file with the name File:DHK.jpg either on Wikipedia or on Commons. – ukexpat (talk) 14:22, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, before an image can be used in an article it must be uploaded to Wikipedia or to Commons. If it is an image that you created yourself (ie in which you own the copyright), Commons is the best place for it. Their upload page is here. If someone else owns the copyright it can only be used on Wikipedia in very limited circumstances, set out here. If it meets one of those non-free use criteria, the place to upload it is the Wikipedia upload page, but before you can upload, your account must be autoconfirmed (ie at least 4 days old and 10 edits). Reversion of your addition to Krikorian[edit]

Orangemike reverted your addition to the Krikorian article because it was one-sided and was also lifted directly from the Krikorian website, which is copyrighted. Promotional language in articles[edit]
