First request for help[edit]

{{helpme}} I just moved List of characters in Ar tonelico 2 which I split from the main Ar tonelico II article, to List of characters in Ar tonelico II in order to keep with the usage of roman numerals within the Ar tonelico series. The original page is useless now, I made it redirect to the new page but I think it should just be deleted since nothing links there yet. I'm not sure if that's the way to do things or not, but that's what I would do. Thing is, I don't know how to do that or even if I can so, I'm asking if I can and if so how, and also if that's the proper way to go about it. Thanks in advance. Probably the best thing for you to do is blank the information at the '2' page, and place a redirect to the correct page (not everyone will think to use Roman numerals when searching). Another question[edit]

{{helpme}} I hope it's alright for me to ask lots of questions, because I'm sure I will. My question this time is: Is it ok to cite websites such as Gamespot or Amazon in reference to the release dates of video games? The reason is, for the articles Ar tonelico and Ar tonelico II I want to put in the release date for Ar tonelico II as December 9th 2008, which is confirmed by both Amazon and Gamespot, but not NIS America, the games publisher, which only says mid December. I'm not an expert in those subject areas, but I have seen them cited for that purpose, as well as for sales statistics (when the sales statistics are, e.g., "#1 on Amazon for three weeks"). Prince of Canada^{t | c} 15:40, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yet Another question[edit]

{{helpme}} According to the article talk page for Ar tonelico II, a request for a screenshot has been made. I can obtain one from the publisher's website, but I was wondering if it is OK to do that. Duplicate sources[edit]

{{helpme}} Again in the article Ar tonelico II: Melody of Metafalica, I have put in the NA release date and cited my sources, but I have managed to make the sources duplicate or something. That is in the infobox the sources are 1 2 and in the in line text 3 4, in the references section they are listed twice. 1 and 3 are the same as are 2 and 4. Yo Squall. What you can do is use <Ref name=name> instead of <ref>. So for example, the first time you use a reference, write <ref name=number1>Reference details here</ref>. Then, whenever you want to re-use that reference, all you have to write is <ref name=number1/> (note the extra backslash). Does that make sense? Ar Tonelico 2 US name[edit]

Hello, Hope you are doing fine. This is my first message to talk with other people and my English is pretty bad if I screw something up please forgive me.

Back to the subject. I want to say that to use Character Original name and put US name at the back in these case, here is the reason.

The problem is Characters original name (Japanese Name) since a few character have Hymmnos language in there name and US name is ruin the language which is the most important thing in the game. Luca Trulywaath, waath mean "Revive" and while US name, Luca Trulyworth doesn't mean anything. Chroche/Cloche original name is Chroche Latel Pastalie which "Pastalie" has a important role and some US name of them destroy the link of "The story of Rhaplanca" that was mention in Hymmnos song, Metafalica, Implanta and Hibernation.

there are more than that...We don't sure yet that NISA will change Infel Phira to Infel Pira or not since "Phira" mean "seeds" while Pira mean nothing in Hymmnos. changing it will ruin the back story of the game.

there are more than that about Hymmnos name change. so in these reason..I think it will better to put/maintain their Original name in front and following by US name in this case. Since a lot of JP names (especially Hymmnos name) is a correct and true information to put on wikipedia. (Because putting Luca's US name will ruin her personal info about "waath" word in Hymmnos and if we put the US name in the back most people would understand about this) So do you agree with this?

I understand what you are saying, I myself am not familiar enough with the specifics of the Hymmnos language nor Ar tonelico 2 to make a judgment in that regard. The one thing I would say is I wonder whether or not having both versions of the names in the same article would be more confusing than helpful. I wonder how many people who read the page will be aware enough to know what we are talking about? We really do not know everything that has been changed either, as the English version is yet to be released, actually it has been delayed until at least January 20, 2009. Cite a video game?[edit]

I tried asking this on the articles talk page sort of but it has no attention. The video game Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA in the article, the scoring information is only correct for the first game. It is cited though. I know for a fact from playing the game this system is different in 2nd and Extend but I can't find a valid source(and I think possible different still in F which I don't have yet). Is it possible to cite the video game itself? Probably the manual but that's in Japanese and I don't have a copy anyway. Squall4226 (talk) 04:07, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

My suggestion would be to clarify the current article text to say that the scoring information only refers to the first game, or possibly to remove the scoring information from the article on the series and add it to Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA (video game) instead, with an edit summary like "move game-specific information to game article" so others can tell why you remove sourced content. Citing the game itself is not a good idea; at the very best it would be a primary source, and we should use third-party sources whenever possible. Huon (talk) 04:44, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
