Sssoul, thank you for your kind welcome to the Wiki community, as I am indeed new.

However, I must admit that I'm completely baffled by your recent comment and actions regarding my posting of something as innocuous as song lyrics. Are these NOT in the public domain, to the extent that they're available for all to hear freely, as well as to look up on any one of thousands of lyric websites? There is no profit being gained through a Wikipedia posting, so what the Hell is the real issue here?

Are there NOT already several direct quotes from the lyrics on the "Sympathy for the Devil" wiki page already? What about these, oh righteous redactor? Does the inclusion of lyrics not serve BOTH the artists AND the public in understanding and appreciating these beautiful, if not sometimes ephemeral, works of art?

Please consider quite seriously the idea that by restricting information to others, and by censoring works of art given to the public, that you ARE in fact acting as a true agent of EVIL in this world. The thing I love most about Wikipedia is that it's a source of dissemination of knowledge to humanity. Restrict THAT? How DARE you! Frankly, I don't know how you can live with yourself.

I realize that this may sound extreme, but to me, such radical censorship is a major "hot-button" issue. Especially when it's a seemingly arbitrarily imposed censorship that would NEVER otherwise be implemented by the artists themselves. WHO would ever rightfully support your destructive actions?

I don't imagine that it's your goal to be a corporate tool, but do you realize that may in fact be what you're doing?

PLEASE don't reply to this with mindless bureaucratic ramblings about "that's the rules". However, if you have an intelligent reply, I'd be happy to consider it, with all due respect.

Believe it or not, there is no offense intended here towards you Sssoul, really. Please forgive the unusually harsh tone of my language, and know that's I don't mean to direct it at YOU personally. I respect your opinions and I appreciate your polite tone, but I honestly see your actions as a disservice to humanity as a whole, and indeed, as an OUTRAGEOUS affront to the integrity of the artists involved. I mean, do you ACTUALLY THINK that either of these bands would oppose their lyrics being disseminated in an intelligent medium such as Wikipedia?

With all due respect, you seem truly MAD, my friend.

Again, please forgive my admittedly obnoxious passionate tone here, and understand that NONE of this is in ANY way meant as a personal attack upon YOU. It is not. I acknowledge that I'm venting a bit here against a perceived injustice. I respect your courteous reply to me, and am simply responding, albeit in a somewhat harsh manner, since this issue is SO important and rather emotional (obviously!) to me.

If I somehow stand to be corrected, and if this is actually the way Wikipedia wants it (Nazi-style, it would seem to me!), then so be - I'll concede.

I humbly await your reply.

With sincere respect my friend,

Edward D.

p.s. I'm really NOT an asshole at all... I'm actually a pretty darn NICE GUY!
