A tag has been placed on Anthony E Caruso, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Mermaid from the Baltic Sea 03:06, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ongoing problems[edit]

Your repeated attempts to add "CSA Group President Anthony E Caruso" (your own article) to the friends list on Jennifer Aniston are problematic. Please stop. If you continue to vandalise Wikipedia, as you did to Jennifer Aniston, you will be blocked. Mermaid from the Baltic Sea 03:14, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is accurate

Also I am new to this so didnt know how to reference.

My bio is accurate....please review my website at www.csadistribution.com if you look at the articles you will see several including this months entrepreneur magazine.

Replacing content at Anthony Caruso with your deleted article[edit]

Question from my talk page[edit]

It was removed under the process described at Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion. That process could have been delayed or stopped by placing {{hangon}} on the article page, but you did not do that. If it was deleted so fast that you didn't have time to do this, you can try creating the article again, however it will probably end up on the speedy delete list again unless it contains elements to establish notability, especially reputable sources. If you wish to create an article that is likely to survive, it would probably be best to read up on Wikipedia rules and procedures before creating it, so that you know how to not set off the deletion process. Mermaid from the Baltic Sea 03:26, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I did type hang on on it yesterday. the facts on anthony e caruso are completly verifiable.

i actually didnt want to have to use the e.....but anthony caruso (the actor) had a profile and i did not know how to create an identical name.

Why are you asking someone else about me and then saying I am being irate? I am not being irate...just trying to understand....then you told the person I didnt give references....that is because i didnt know how....now they have been added...from professional sources....lastly...is there an issue with it being autobiographically? does it really add value by me having someone else or a publicist create it?

Blatantly, yes. It is a bad idea for you (or your publicist) to write your (auto)biography. It's best if you wait for someone else to come along and write about you, rather than do it yourself (outside of your userpage) or hire someone to do it for you.—Ryūlóng () 04:22, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

More questions from my talk page[edit]

The point is that, if people are notable enough, someone will eventually create an article about them, and that autobiographies generally can't be written in a neutral point of view or without using original research. You are not being advised to prompt someone else to write your article for you, you are being advised to wait for a stranger to write the article. If you are having trouble understanding this, you should spend at least a couple of hours reading through the policy links you've been given above. There's no way that I can explain Wikipedia policies to you better than the official policy pages can. Mermaid from the Baltic Sea 04:38, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Correction[edit]

Actually, I'm slightly wrong above. I forgot about Wikipedia:Articles for creation, where you can make a request. However, it is considered bad form to ask your friends, your relatives or your employees to write your Wikipedia article. Mermaid from the Baltic Sea 04:42, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I understand your "official line"...but being in the world of business I know many, many on here who had sites created. Its not likely a complete stranger wrote about Jim Barksdale of Netscape out of the blue...but I understand your point. Thank you.

Anthony Caruso[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent contribution removed content from Anthony Caruso. Please be more careful when editing articles and do not remove content from Wikipedia without a good reason, which should be specified in the edit summary. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. Thank you. You've been warned about this before. When you replace an established article with the text of your own frequently deleted article, that is generally considered vandalism. Please don't do it again. Mermaid from the Baltic Sea 05:49, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It almost seems as you are harrassing me now. I have done what you asked. You told me the problem was no references...I took the time to document my bio. Are you honestly telling me that Entprenuer Magazine is not a good enough source? I am launching ITSHIPS.com that will be a shipping product for EBAY...I believe I have credentials to be on the site.

Am I able to, if I site the sources as your previous message stated, able to create that?

It feels like you are there just monitoring every move I make....ready to delete it for the fun of it.

This is your last warning.

Please sign your statements (with ~~~~ which creates your auto-generated signature) in the future. The issue this time is replacing a long-standing article about a person other than yourself (Anthony Caruso) that has managed to stand the test of time with the text of an article that has been deleted more than once already. If I replaced Mermaid with an article about myself, I'm sure it would be viewed as vandalism. Likewise what you did here, regardless of your intentions, was essentially erasing time-tested material from Wikipedia. I'm not persecuting you. The article Anthony Caruso has been reverted twice by others (namely User:Mangojuice and User:Satori Son). In fact, I've been one of the few reverters of your work who has been polite enough to leave you lots of messages on your talk page. Most haven't. If you want an article about yourself to stand and survive, you don't want to go about things in a way that damages other information in Wikipedia, because it just angers others. See Wikipedia:Disambiguation to learn about multiple articles with the same name. However, I don't think you should continue to recreate your autobiographical article because it flies in the face of Wikipedia policy. I'm sorry if you've become quite confused over the rules, but I've tried to keep you informed every step of the way so that you'd have the best chance of making descisions that would help your case. Mermaid from the Baltic Sea 06:21, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I certainly did not mean to be impolite by not leaving a message here after I reverted the latest change. When I stopped by here, it just appeared that Mermaid from the Baltic Sea and others had a dialogue already going and I did not want to seem like I was ganging up on Starsplay. Please accept my apologies. -- Satori Son 06:51, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry if I made you sound impolite, I was just trying to say that I'd been extra polite by leaving so many messages. I know that editors don't need to get the exact same messages from everyone. Mermaid from the Baltic Sea 08:34, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK...will set up under my name

Wizard...I am not vandalizing anything...i now have it set under my own name...and if Entreprenuer Mag thinks its "noteworthy"...should be good enough for this site

Your edits to Louise Hoffsten[edit]

Why did you delete an entry from the discography in the article Louise Hoffsten? You had no reason at all to do this. If it was an attempt at getting back at me for deleting Anthony E Caruso from Jennifer Aniston it's not going to work and will just end up with you getting blocked. Start contributing in a constructive way or don't contribute at all. -- TexMurphy 06:46, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you continue false information you will be blocked from contributing to this site. Anthony Caruso has been on Friends...who are you to say that was false? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Starsplay (talkcontribs)

And I was questioning your deleting Anthony Caruso from Jen Anistons page....need to see a pic of him on the show? Care to explain why you deleted without asking questions? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Starsplay (talkcontribs)

  • Of course I can explain my deletion, but can we please stick to the topic? -- TexMurphy 08:52, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • i guess the same reason you did...we both ASSUMED. You assumed Anthony was not freinds with Jen and I asumed the 1988 entry was invaled — Preceding unsigned comment added by Starsplay (talkcontribs)
  • The 1988 entry on Louise Hoffsten can easily be verified by checking Amazon.com or her official home page. Your claim of being Jennifer Aniston's friend can't. It's a matter of verifiability. Even if your claims are true, do you really think it's worth including in Encyclopedia? Just trying to be reasonable with you here. -- TexMurphy 09:57, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • This looks like a classic case of WP:POINT. Now that you've read the policy, please don't do it again. If you want to be listed as Jennifer Aniston's friend, you need to pass two hurdles. First, you need a source stating this to be true that meets WP:V, which you do not have at present. Your word doesn't count because it is considered WP:OR. I could claim to be friends with hundreds of celebrities, but I'm sure I'd be challenged in exactly the same way as you are. Second, even if you could prove it, your assertion would need to pass WP:N in regards to the Jennifer Aniston article in order to stay there over the long term. Since Jennifer Aniston only has about five friends listed now, and Wikipedia editors generally won't tolerate a long list of friends, editors will eventually ask themselves whether you are a notable enough friend to be included in that article. Unless you are such a good friend that you are certainly in the top five, your statement will probably get deleted by someone eventually. These facts are not a bad reflection on you, and it does not mean that we are refusing to think of you are truthful, it's just the way things are done here. It's like trying to get in a fancy restaurant that requires men to wear suits with ties. It may not be fair - life often isn't - but certain procedures and rules are followed in certain places. Mermaid from the Baltic Sea 17:20, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This doesn't really help your case[edit]

The first one mentioned has now been created by you a second time. This sort of behavior only ends up making you look bad. Which makes it even harder for your article to stay. We aren't being mean to you, we're only advising you on your best course of action. If you really don't understand what is meant by Wikipedia:Notability and other policies, it is best to keep seeking help and reading and trying to understand instead of continuing on the same course of action that caused your article to be deleted before. Mermaid from the Baltic Sea 08:34, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I dont understand what is wrong now...its under Anthony Edward Caruso. If someone tells me that regardless of the press, what i have accomplished, being recognized by a national magazine isnt enough...let me know....but then i have some 3rd string football players need deleting

The main problem, actually, is that Wikipedia strongly discourages anyone from writing articles about themselves. See Wikipedia:Vanity. The general thought is that if you are important enough to have an encyclopedia article about you, someone will eventually write it. Self-written articles are very problematic; they are often full of unverifiable details, and not written from a neutral point of view, as all articles must be. Not all articles conform to these policies in the first place, but autobiographical articles are so problematic that they are generally not welcome. That said, if (1) you actually are notable, and (2) you can make your article conform to the main Wikipedia policies of WP:NPOV and WP:V, then it may be kept. I am going to start the debate on the deletion of your article now. If the community decides that it should be deleted, and you persist in recreating it, you will probably end up being blocked from editing Wikipedia. Mangojuicetalk 14:37, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The debate can be found at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Anthony Edward Caruso. Feel free to participate, but my advice is to offer a single, direct opinion on the article and then avoid the debate -- heavy involvement in an AfD by an article creator usually draws delete-favoring people to the debate. Mangojuicetalk 14:56, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Cliff Josephy, you will be blocked from editing. SmartGuy (talk) 14:25, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
