Help me![edit]

Sorry last time i posted something i never responded to it I'm just learning the interface here, but here's the deal, i have tried a couple time to add some content to some wiki-pages but they keep getting marked as vandalism. I didn't try to vandalize anything and I'm just curious if maybe there's some sort of template i could follow so that my edits do not get marked as vandalism. For example i edited the Sape disambiguation page a couple times to add that in some parts of central Minnesota calling someone a "sape" is a derogative insult. Im just curious about how to add this content in a constructive manner. I know this information is true because i live in the South-eastern part of Central Minnesota and sape is used as an insult.

On another note how do you reply to these things i cant seem to figure that out. :/

I remember seeing that edit this morning. I didn't revert it, but I was close to it. There are no 'templates' for editing pages, really but some familiarity with a few pointers is helpful. First, it is always helpful to put an edit summary in when you edit. This lets other editors know what you are doing and why (if you include that!). Read Help:Edit Summary for more information. This is particularly helpful when you are not editing from an account. Next, regarding the edit to Sape, it would be useful to include some reference to verify or support your edit. If there is a newspaper article that mentions it or something, that would be ideal. This lets people know that the information isn't something that's just made up. I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if there's anything else I can do to help! Wikipelli Talk 15:27, 31 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Oh! To edit this page, you can simply click Edit at the top of the window and then type in your response under everything else. Wikipelli Talk 15:30, 31 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Well, its more of an informal insult where i live, so im not sure if i could find anywhere where its used, maybe on titter or something.. thanks for your helpfulness! If i find a good source i will retry editing with a good summary and verufy it with stuff, until then thanks for the info and cheers!

Sounds good. Let me know if I can help! Wikipelli Talk 17:40, 31 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
