Paul Hester[edit]

Stephen, regarding your edit of The Wiggles: you added the bolded part of the following: Minor characters of note include The Cook (portrayed by Anthony Field's late father, John, and Crowded House drummer Paul Hester, until his death in 2005),[39] Professor Singalottasonga, and Dapper Dave (both played by Moran),[40] and Officer Beaples and Fiona Fitbelly (both played by Leanne Halloran).[41]

I appreciate the addition, of course, but I struggle with how necessary it is. First off, of course Hester played The Cook until his death, as did John Field. Secondly, there's the piece of information that Hester committed suicide, which is what I suspect you're driving at. Or maybe you're referring to "The Wiggles death curse". If you look at that discussion, you'll see that at one point, this was mentioned in the article, but it was deleted because there wasn't a reliable source for it. I wonder, then, if a better edit would be something like, "...and Crowded House drummer Paul Hester, who committed suicide in 2005..." Personally, I don't think it's necessary, since the reference is about his death, anyway. I won't change it until you let me know what you think, and we discuss it a little bit. Thanks. --Figureskatingfan (talk) 22:33, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Roses from Dorothy

Dorothy the Dinosaur (and me) have given you this beautiful rose in appreciation for your intelligence and good sense in your revert of The Wiggles. Good on ya, mate! --Figureskatingfan (talk) 04:24, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ad subdirectory[edit]

What does that mean exactly? Did I screw up in replacing the image? --Stephen 12:35, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! This pertains to a flaw affecting a small number of users. Approximately 0.4 percent of our images are stored in subdirectories called "ad," which causes some ad-filtering software to mistake them for advertising and block them from view.
I use a script (compatible with recent versions of IE and Firefox) that places a red border around such images. In case you're interested, here's the code (which gets added to one's personal CSS):
img[src*="/ad/"] { border: solid red 10px !important; }

Speedy deletion years in art[edit]

Stephen, I have seen inconsistencies in how the years in art categories are dealt with. you are correct that some decades are contained on one page (like the 1400's), but in many other cases individual years got individual pages (see 1500's, 1600's, etc). My thought was go with individual pages assuming that over time as more events, deaths, births, and works gets noted, that a page may get too busy and need to be split up later. That was just a thought Let me know what you think. Thanks. Keithh (talk) 01:01, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I should note that I agree with your sentiment that I should do the pages one at a time, rather than in bulk and going back. I was not aware that speedy deletion was so...y'know...speedy. Keithh (talk) 01:03, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mel Ferrer[edit]

Hi, I notice you've twice removed the picture from the infobox. It's actually a free image. If you have a look at the image page, it's linked to Commons. thanks Rossrs (talk) 07:55, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My Rfa[edit]

Question here. · AndonicO Engage. 10:08, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nevermind, hadn't read the RFA. · AndonicO Engage. 10:09, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

stephen, you are a control freak jack ass- fuck you and your pseudo intelligence. wikipedia is a joke because of morons like you.

Thank You[edit]

Thank you for your comment on my RFA. While I disagree with the reason you oppose, I am happy you participated because Wikipedia is all about opinion and consensus. The reason I feel of Administrators as team leaders or managers, is because I noticed everyone goes to them when they have questions, just like the team leaders at the Meijer I work at get. I don't feel that admins should be treated above anyone else, but they should help others or the project when they can. Once again thanks. :) <3 Tinkleheimer TALK!! 19:15, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image deletion[edit]

Can I enquire why you deleted Image:Applebee's.svg, citing deletion criterion I9, then replaced it with a JPEG? As far as I could see, the former had the appropriate fair-use rationales and tags appended. Regards, Gr1st (talk) 10:33, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I see, found the discussion on AN. I actually uploaded the most recent version of that file (CoolKid1993 uploaded the original, if memory serves) which was taken direct from a PDF file from the Applebee's website and so was certainly accurate. Any chance that version could be restored? Best, Gr1st (talk) 22:08, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Much appreciated, thanks. Gr1st (talk) 22:16, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings and sorry to bother you with this... it seems you are the logical person to talk with about the issue regarding Samuel Pepys. For the second time I have had to revert changes to one of my userspace pages that this editor has performed. I am concerned about 3RR for my own user page! Having asked nicely for the user to stop changing my userspace, I noticed that a user block was placed on the user. While I am not certain as to the extent of the policies regarding this, the block seems to have been lifted, but prematurely, I'm afraid, since the user is continuing to change userspace pages. Can you tell me how I might ensure the user is prevented from changing my userspace pages in the future? Thank you, in advance, for your help. Cheers. The €T/C 07:11, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lomcevak: Thanks[edit]

Thanks for the unblock Stephen!

I hope Raul654 is able to sort his 'socks' from 'non-socks' ;-)

(BTW if you want corroboration on the legitimacy, see the (minor) addition that I will have made to Natascha Engel shortly.

Best wishes

I thought data from a Kenyan government source is in the public domain. Is this not true? I would be interesten in getting Mrs. Mugo back on the Main Page. I'm an Editorofthewiki[citation needed] 18:47, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Fleur Lombard[edit]

I have nominated Fleur Lombard, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Fleur Lombard. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Clarityfiend (talk) 06:57, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A disputed category of "Terror" was added against waht was disscusted on talk page of PM Shamir's Organization[edit]

Hi, Stephen, how are you ? let start from the begginig, I've found out that in addition to Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir being categorized as "Terrorist", the article referring to his organization (Lehi (group))has been categorized under "Category: Jewish terrorism" and "Category:Defunct organizations designated as terrorist", as well as the Disambiguation page of Lehi says:

  • Lehi (group), a Jewish/Zionist terrorist group that operated in the British Mandate of Palestine (Also known as the Stern Gang)

I had edited both pages, including other issues, that meanwhile were resolved (on the talk page), but Meanwhile the disputed categories have also been reverted (in both pages by the same person, who categories such disputations on other articles as well) without further explanations.

I moved the discussion to the article's talk page as needed, and just by looking at the talk page of this article, you can see at list 2 discussions (prior to mine), that discussed the issue of categorizing the article under some form of "Terror" – all ending with no one getting to agree on this matter – it remained a disputed issue.

Further, I have opened another disscution on the matter, so I could find out why somebody placed a disputed category of "Terror" despite the fact that no one agrees upon it and no consensus was reached !? (See talk page of the article)

I couldn't get a reasonable explanation and No consensus was reached yet again. This unilateral step was done (Initially) on: 12:35, 20 May 2008 MeteorMaker ("Organizations designated as terrorist" and "Jewish terrorism" added.) I'd like to ask you to remove those categories in dispute, until a broader discussion that can produce a consensus will be held --Shevashalosh (talk) 12:00, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not intervening in a content discussion just because nobody is siding with you on the talk page. --Stephen 00:05, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
