Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Bathlogobutton.gif[edit]

- Thanks for uploading Image:Bathlogobutton.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. - - If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:19, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Ohio License Plate 2004.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Ohio License Plate 2004.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Only problem is that it might be a bit *too* non-selective. It includes things that are barely, if even, related to Ohio such as Xerox. Q T C 21:56, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That might be a problem... I'll see if there's a way to work that out. Thanks for your help again. Edit: Xerox is listed? I must have missed it, either way I see what you mean about selectivity.§tepshep¡Talk to me! 23:09, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ohio selected biography nominees[edit]

Hi Stepshep, The Ohio project's newest FA is Jack Warner, a biography of a Hollywood movie mogul who was raised in Ohio. I was involved in expanding this article and would prefer to avoid a self-nom. I did, however, want to let you know about the article's recent promotion. Thanks, -- twelsht (talk) 03:06, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good enough! I'll keep a close eye out for any articles that seem promising. Thanks, -- twelsht (talk) 19:44, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This is just a quick update: New Ohio FA's include William Tecumseh Sherman, whose promotion was never recorded on the OH-Project template, and Superman, which recently became part of the Ohio project. New GA's include a bio of Ohio-born actress Halle Berry and Ohio-born golf legend Jack Nicklaus. BTW, the Ohio Portal looks great! Best, -- twelsht (talk) 16:52, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:BathLocalSchoolsLogo.gif)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:BathLocalSchoolsLogo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:19, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well we are having a slow-pace, friendly edit war ;) . Somewhere along the lines Image:120px-Cincinnatiseal.jpg got replaced with the above image on that Portal page. AWB[edit]

Although your mainspace contributions are on the low side you are clearly a committed and relatively experienced user so your application to use AWB has been approved. Please be careful which articles you tag. If you have crossover with other wikiprojects please discuss tagging articles with those projects to ensure that the drama quotient remains low. Many editors prefer collapsible tags as they reduce the clutter on article talk pages. Remember that AWB is a very powerful tool and it is very easy to do a lot of damage very quickly. Please test it a bit before you do the full runs to makes sure its doing what you want. Spartaz Humbug! 11:52, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Problem seems to be related to Category:Great Lakes - Its got some bad intersections and loops, meaning it managed to bring up a lot of subcategories of it, which brough about the bad edits. Stopped[edit]

Whats up?? Reedy 22:02, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I took the list on User:Stepshep/WPOHCAT, loaded it into AWB, loaded all pages (which will have included subcategories, but not loaded any articles from them). Then compared with what already transcluded {{OH-Project}}, and took the ones that didnt transclude it. So it may include a few categories that shouldnt be tagged... But it shouldnt include any articles..
If you look at Category:People_from_Huntington,_West_Virginia, it is categorised under Category:People from Lawrence County, Ohio... So hence it will tag the root category.. But not any articles in it. Reedy 22:14, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
